Such a fabulous location, a little let down by a few easily remedied actions. Outside area needs a lick of paint and tidying. Room had an amazing views but was let down by a faulty toilet seat, no blind, peeling paintwork and toiletries not renewed after last occupants. Bit of a shame , could be so much better .

From the moment we walked in we were made to feel welcome. Good selection of drinks. Fantastic menu. The hospitality of the staff was brilliant. Highly recommend paying a visit. We walked along the coastal path for lunch and all said we would definitely do it again (even if the path was very hilly in places). The view is beautiful too! Thank you for a very enjoyable afternoon!!

The Ship inn, Tresaith, Cardigan, SA43 2JL Dates 27th – 29th Feb 2024. We rarely provide any reviews or feedback, but after our stay we felt it necessary to let you know that we were not happy with our stay. • On arrival there was limited parking and one night we had to park on the road that had signs saying NO parking. The staff said that was fine out of season! • The first night we went down to dinner early at 16.45 to take advantage of the special offer. If ordered before 5pm the Lunch & Early evening set menu was 2 courses for £14.50, however the waiter advised this was not on offer OUT OF SEASON! • ROOM – the shower leaked and needed a towel to be used on the floor by the hand basin. We reported this and was told we would have extra towels for the wet floor, but none arrived. Also, the en-suite room & ceiling looked dirty with mildew on the ceiling and dirt around the base of the shower screen (we have photos if needed). • BREAKFAST –Sarah was brilliant at breakfast and as soon as she knew we wanted oat milk she provided some herself the next day for us. However, she apologised as we asked for fruit for breakfast and we were told ‘this is no longer available’ despite it being shown on the menu! Sarah could not have been more helpful and is an asset to Ship Inn. We had more issues with our evening meal on the 2nd night. Too much to detail here, but have contacted Marstons directly. Suffice to say DON'T EXPECT A DRINK after 9.30pm, Resident or not! DISAPPOINTING VENUE

0ur stay at the Ship Inn was excellent, staff were excellent, food was very good with a good selection of dishes. Bedroom was very comfortable, clean and great amenities. I would stay there again, really enjoyed its location, the beautiful views. Only negative was due to our stay being in February, out of season, the bar was shut at 9.30pm on a Friday night due to being very quiet. I personally think regardless of trade if you are residing in the Ship Inn that the bar should be available for usual open hours for hotel guests. After all you are paying to stay in a place that advertises the bar as a selling point and to be expected to be back in your room for 9.30 as the facilities have shut is not what you'd expect when booking to stay above a bar.

The rooms all have lovely sea views. Ours was comfortable and clean. The meals downstairs were excellent. The staff were very friendly, and the place seems well-run by Hayley the manager.

This is an absolute jem of a place. From the moment I walked in I was made to feel welcome by the ladies there. The bar restaurant is warm & welcoming, tastefully decorated with lovely views of the bay. The menu is quite varied with various specials available and what I had was beautifully cooked. I had a doue room overlooking the bay with a narrow balcony. The room was spacious tastefully decorated with a very comfortable double bed. Large flat screen tv on the wall and good strong free WiFi available. There was a nice desk with comfortable chair which helped when completing work admin on the go. The bathroom was equipped with a powerful shower cubicle and heated towel rack and kept nice and clean. I had an excellent night's sleep and really enjoyed my morning coffee with the best view of the bay. I'd highly recommend this place and would not hesitate to stop here again. I enjoyed it so much I'm even thinking of taking the wife for a cheeky getaway later in the year.

Had a lovely Christmas lunch here. Prosecco apéritif, Mushroom soup served with lightly toasted chiabata. Followed by Sea bream , tenderstem broccoli, crushed potato and lemon butter. And traditional Christmas pudding and custard for dessert. Rounded off with an espresso coffee. My husband and I were very happy with our meal served in a happy , unrushed yet attentive manner.

Friendly service makes this five stars for me. From the moment Holly greeted me after an arduous 20 mile walk, the comfortable modern seafront room with an unrivalled view, much needed hot shower with good quality toiletries (carrying a rucksack so didn’t bring any), soft towels, and then to dinner - from Ellis’s taking my order, to Amy and Deri serving at my table, the helpful and efficient service really did make a difference. I had the halloumi fries to start, hunters chicken for main, and the dark chocolate delivered for pudding. Each was delicious and fresh and tasty. I don’t normally do dessert but it was so good to see anything dark chocolate on the menu so dove in. When served, the mousse mentioned on the menu wasn’t available so was replaced with a scrummy chocolate ice cream. Pure perfection. Not that the adjoining table would know. They overheard Amy explaining and then set about moaning and contriving a line should they be offered their delice without the mousse - I mean come on, get a grip people. It’s a £7 dessert, not a bespoke car! Listening to them opened my eyes to the negative reviewer experience - we visit TripAdvisor to read reviews, but the negative stick out and sometimes cloud our judgement. Now you might be one of those people for whom a replacement ice cream is a deal breaker but for me it’d never be as important as hospitality, service, friendliness (solo traveller, makes a difference) and a clean comfortable room. I’ve yet to have the breakfast but will be surprised if it’s poor; my expectations have been more than met and as long as you’re not the kind of person to have a mousse-less meltdown you’re sure to love it too
