The Vurpillat

This is an apar**ent building with families and residents that you interact with. We had a nice interaction and found that helpful. It is an older building so sound travels easily Support staf was responsive but could not provide some expected services like keeping our luggage secure for a few hours after check out Totally a Cali experience !!

Vurpillat is right on the beach which we wanted. Nicole and the Owner were very nice and attentive! Very cool historic place with vintage furnishings. Our neighbors above us were terrible parents allowing their toddler to make constant loud noises and pushing/scraping things across the wood floor. This happened until after 10pm and again before 6am! Crazy. In the morning I did text the owner about it and he texted them but it did not change so the owner knocked on their door and spoke to them. It improved a bit until they left. The owner was very good about it all! The accomodations, the building and the area are great!

For the first time, I'm a bit unsure where to start with my review. Jay, the manager is super nice and responsive. He always got us what we needed and are appreciative. The location on the Strand is fantastic. However, all of that said, the building is really a work in progress. There are very few rooms with an actual view. There isn't anyone actually workign the front desk. And there are construction materials and "stuff" packing some of the halls. None of that was really an issue for us. Just different. Something another reviewer has made clear, these really are all rooms that sleep two people. We had four of us, and they brought in two foam mattresses that we put on the floor in the family room. Is it ideal for most? No. For our teenage daughters, it worked just fine. The TV has netflix etc. which worked fine. But, the building is simply a very old, oddly laid out building. Some would call it strange and not enjoyable. Others would look at it and think it's full of funky character. I'm torn. Perhaps a bit of both.

Nicole kept very good communication before our arrival and we were upgraded which was nice. The room was clean and the location was perfect! Would definitely book again.

Historical property on the beach. So fun to see what Hermosa Beach looked like 100 years ago. Great place, awesome experience.

this place is amazing! super cute! and the staff are amazing! i can’t wait to stay again Jay and Nicole communicated with us so well and help make our stay perfect! the price was perfect! Jay even upgraded us for our anniversary! we can’t wait to come back! highly recommend this place

This was an amazing place to stay. Beautiful views and lots of little accommodations. Jay was incredibly kind and helpful. Would absolutely stay again.

Jay was super helpful—temps were unusually cold at night for the location, and he provided a heater for the room. Parking pass allowed us to put the car nearby overnight for free. Great place if you want to stay feet from the sea and every restaurant or bar you could ask for. Local vibe, very vibey spot.

This is a quiet and older property. The owners definitely try to keep the older qualities upfront but also have modern ammenities at hand. I rented three suites during my stay, the small, medium, and large. Here are a few things i found lacking. The rooms, no matter what the size are suitable for two people. All have some kind of sofa in the room but niether of them are pull out beds. All have kitchenettes equipped with eating utensils, plates and coffee cups, but no knives or cooking pans. The large suite was given keurig pods but no keurig machine. There was no sponge or cleaning supplies to wash any of the dishes used. Here are some of the things i enjoyed... The large suite has the best view of the boardwalk and the ocean. You can literally open the curtains and enjoy the ocean views including the sunset. The medium suite also has a view of the ocean but from the side windows. The small suite had no ocean view. The property is beach front with chairs and tables on the exterior to enjoy the outdoors. The staff was very friendly and tries to be helpful in any way. The properts is a very short walk to the boardwalk and many eating opportunities. The rooms were clean and comfortable with satellite tv and internet! After everything said, I definitely recommend this property for a quick or long term stay at Hermosa Beach.
