Star Beach Village & Water Park

We had our family holiday here in April and loved it. The staff were amazing. Firstly we arrived late due to flight times but the hotel reopened the restaurant for late arrivals. Granted, it was only salads, breads and cheeses, but we didn’t expect anything at all so this was a bonus. Check in was smooth and we were escorted to our room on a buggy by lovely staff. The room was clean and spacious on arrival and cleaned almost daily. Another bonus we enjoyed was the restock of free bottled water each day. The food and drink options were great, plenty to choose from and had different themes each night. There are also other restaurants on site that we could eat at for free as long as you book in advance. We loved the Asian Star. With so many pools and different areas to choose from we kept busy for most of the week. The slides/waterpark was a big hit for my son and the countless times he went on them. Some days were busier than others as members of the public can pay to come in too. The little beaches along the resort were a great bonus too. Free subbed and clear water…what more could you want. I’d definitely book again.

What an amazing hotel, so much for the kids to do. The animation team particularly Gregory & Nicolas were excellent with the children, playing football, card games and just generally entertaining them. There is a football pitch at near the main hotel snack bar (Dionyssos). You have to get down early and secure your sunbeds as they are taken quickly and not used for hours!!! The bees are a pest but don’t sting you, they just want to sweet drinks & food. Just more of an annoyance than anything else. You don’t need to pack towels!!! They are provided at the snack bar every day (with the cards handed to you at check in) All the bar, restaurant, cleaning staff are super friendly, haven’t had a bad experience with anyone. There is the main buffet restaurant but also the Cretan & Asian which is part of the All Inclusive (have to book though). The food was consistently good, no complaints. They do themed evening meals (Mexican, around the world, Mediterranean etc) although that is only a small part of the selection, you can always get meat, fish, salads, pizza, pasta. The list is endless. The hotel snack bar is open from 10am to 6pm serving pizza, chips, toasties, burgers & hotdogs. The water park snack bar is the same opening times with the same food options but also noodles. Alcohol - you can get a drink from 10am until midnight. It’s local spirits so not that strong but nice enough to drink throughout the day. There is also beer & cocktails. The water park although not officially part of the hotel, it doesn’t feel like it. It’s across a little road and free entry for hotel guests. There is 1 bar there which is included the All Inclusive, the rest you have to buy drinks at. The sunbeds and umbrellas are free for hotel guests, although there is an over 18’s part which they sporadically asked for payment so we just moved to nearer the slides on the grass where it is free. Our room was opposite the entrance to the water park so it was quiet enough, away from all the pools and entertainment in the evening. They were cleaned daily & bottles of water left for us. I’d say the only negative is the hotel is quite hard to get your bearings when you first arrive as it’s so big. It felt a bit rushed checking in and we were sent on our way with a map with was a bit confusing. All in all though I’d give the hotel 5*’s

This was my first time to Crete and it will not be my last. This hotel is lovely we very much enjoyed our stay ,and personal was fantastic especially George and Diana were very helpful with information and good service. Highly recommended for anyone who wants to visit. 🏝️

Well, what can I say? I have been home roughly 24 hours & didn’t want to write a review until I had enough time to reflect. Firstly, I’d like to say don’t believe everything you read online, mainly the negatives. For a four-star hotel, this is incredible value. Perfect for people of all ages, elderly, young, & families. It’s got something for everyone. The name Star Beach Village is an accurate deception of what the place is like. It’s a massive complex with a water park, multiple restaurants, beaches, bars, entertainment & activities running throughout the day. My partner & I are both vegan & mainly picked this hotel on that basis. And I can confirm that they were very accommodating. That was 100% correct. For breakfast, you could have certain cereals, nuts, fruit, yoghurts, vegan cheese, bread, vegan butter, chocolate spread & more. Lunchtime was mostly salads, pittas, chips, but that’s fine! And every evening in the main restaurant there is a theme. Examples are Mexican, Greek & Italian. There is a hot plate station with six options for vegans every night. Those options vary on the theme of the evening. We had vegan lasagna, rice, mushroom stew, pasta, and so much variety. And finally, I would like to give a special thanks to both George & Diana who were working the floor in the main restaurant. Those two are superstars. Always going above and beyond to make sure your experience was enjoyable. Empty plates removed from our table within seconds & always friendly & cheerful. Honestly, every single member of staff was working incredibly hard. But those two made a lasting impression on us both. The only downside is some of the accommodation is located across the road from the main hotel complex. It’s only a small walk, no more than a few minutes. But you do have to cross a busy road or use a tunnel. So bear that in mind if you have children & pay extra to stay in the main hotel. Overall, I’d highly recommend going & giving it a try for yourselves. I hope this review helps someone make their mind up.

I with my family (4 people) had the best time at this park eating sleeping and the stuff you can do around the park were al really great also met two waiters at the restaurant: George and Diana very friendly and really hard workers who made our vacation even better excellent work guys 👍🏻 all in all our vacation was worth all five stars i would recomend it to anyone.

We went 2 Star Beach for the 4th time in our lives in 30 years. And it was a great experience again! For us and our 2 sons. The accomodation, the facilities and the food was very good. We also met our new friends George and his wife Diana, who worked at the restaurant and served us so good and nice and made real contact. Thank you so much for that!

I never complete reviews but now having children and experiencing different type of holidays i have decided i am going to start completing them to help other people decide if it is the right holiday for them or not 🙂 I would rate the hotel a 4 star. There was good parts and some things that we felt could have been better, but this all depends on what you look for in a holiday. When checking in staff on reception we felt wasnt very welcoming. We turned up and was told staff was due to change so we had to wait. After waiting nothing happened and eventually someone just checked us in (not really what you want when youve been travelling all day). We feel a warm welcome and a welcome drink on arrival would improve this? We was taken to our room in a buggy which was great - saved legs and arms from all the suitcases. Downside to the hotel is, if you have children, each appartment blocks if you want to call them that .. they are up some steps so not great having to carry a pram up and down. Rooms was clean, you are given 1-2 bottles of water daily in the room. Cleaners come everyday, make beds and mop floors. Food - there is a lot to choose from, but its very similar every day, so we eventually got a big bored of this. But you can book in for 2 of the restaurants, asian restaurant is lovely. Snack bars are great - burgers, chips, toasties, salas boxes, and make your own noodle bar (huge hit!). Drinks are ok .. beer seems very watered down. Alcoholic drinks just didnt taste right. Wine was ok with lemonade. Waterpark - all the pools/slides/pool side areas - clean and tidy. My 4 year old loved all the slides! Great for children as all slides for different ages. Keeps them entertained. Entertainment - day time .. didnt really see a lot going on. Few times there was aqua aerobics on but nothing else. Night time entertainment, cannot really comment as didnt stay to watch but its very repetitive (10 days we stayed). It got very busy!! .. so would advise to get to that a bit earlier. Few issues with noise, i feel the hotel should group families together and then place couples/single people in same blocks. Issue for us was having a couple next door to us, coming in at 4am in a morning, shouting and having no consideration for others until 6am. 3 out of 4 of us had a sickness bug while there, unsure where this came from.. this caused sickness and stomach cramps. Just feel this is worth mentioning. Staff on bars/food work really hard. Weekends get busier then during the week but always sunbeds. Its a nice hotel, premises are always clean and tidy. Just could do with some tweeks to just make it that little better we felt but overall had a nice 10 days.

I really can't recommend this hotel enough. Myself and family stayed for a week we arrived last Sunday night and the Hotel had laid on some food for us anticipating us being hungry, the hotel room was comfortable and cleaned daily with fresh towels. The food was exemplary we were bowled over by how efficient the staff were. Although they may seem direct they are incredibly professional and run the hotel with many guests seamlessly. The staff in the kitchens particularly work so hard to make sure all meals run on time and perfectly. The food is so good and a varied Manu every day, we weren't bored once. Local food is offered in the Cretan restaurant, and Chinese and Japanese but you should book up all week to get the time slot you want. Buffet food but a la carte quality. I'd like to mention Kristiana in the main restaurant who was so kind and happy every single day and made us feel very welcome. The accommodation is made up of blocks of rooms laid out in a well presented palm and flowered tree lined avenues. A short walk across of a quiet road is the waterpark which we didn't leave all week. A toddler pool situated next to a 5-15 year old play pool. Further around another toddler pool by an adult swim pool and lazy river and flumes for the older kids.

We had another wonderful vacation at star beach hotel. The staff in the hotel is very nice and helpful, especially the Romanian couple George and Diana from the main restaurant, who gave us and our children a wonderful welcoming vacation feeling. Compliments on our behalf and maybe see you soon!
