Hikka Sandy Pearl Beach Resort

Affordable place for a beachside stay in Hikkaduwa. Rooms are clean and spacious. They do not serve buffet but set menus are ok for the price. Has a night balcony towards the sea view, above the pool. Walking distance for many restaurants and activities like snorkeling and boat rides.

Well, the photos look nice on trip advisor and other similar sites… I suspect these were taken when the ‘resort’ was at its prime.. it isn’t anymore. The front looks ok, the pool looks ok, but the whole resort otherwise is tired looking and in need of a fair bit of maintenance. The staff however are very nice and are happy to help. Compared to other hotels in the area, this one is pricier and having checked others, not in as good condition. For a three star.. ok, but there are better in the area.

We booked the deluxe suite with a seaview. Had a really lovely welcome when we arrived and were given a very refreshing cool drink, which was appreciated after the journey from Colombo. The room was very large but did have some flaws: Fridge cabinet draw dragged on the floor Bathroom cabinet door off a hinge Bedding was holed Safe was broken but immediately replaced. These were flaws that's all and didn't impact at all on use of the room. Room was very clean Fan and Aircon were highly efficient. The hotel as a whole is looking tired, the paintwork exterior and interior needs redoing. The pool area matting needs replacing and the pool walls need a good scrape. Yet despite all this tiredness, the room and hotel gave excellent value for money. It's in a great location for good restaurants, it's right on the beach and it has wonderful staff. We'd recommend it

The pool was great - clean, spacious & lovely view of the beach/ocean. The room was ok for the price however the whole place is very tired & in need of improvement I.e. yellow lamp shades, marks on the walls, peeling wood on upstairs walkway, mould & scum in the bathroom, old frayed towels. Our a/c started to leak quite badly but they fixed it straight away. The wall the a/c was mounted on was water stained so maybe there’s a pre existing issue. The springs in the bed or the wooden slats maybe broken as the mattress bowed so it wasn’t the comfiest. The communal areas needed a good sweep & mop. However the staff were very friendly & the location is perfect.

Stayed Full board basis for 1 night the staff was friendly and check in and check out was smooth . The food is also good with some options and with ample quantity ( fully stuffed after every meal ) . The pool and beach combo was very relaxing. Good option if you are in a budget.

We stayed here in early September. Positives: - Great location - 3 minute walk along the beach to the famous hikkaduwa beach where you can swim or sunbathe. - Ate lunch in the hotel - The seafood fried rice was very delicious and price was good. - The room is big and spacious - Loved the dogs that live on site especially the one with bat ears, what a cutie! - No mosquitoes in the room - Good A/C, not drying. Negatives: - The check in. While we appreciate check in isn't officially until 2pm we have never encountered a situation in 5 years of travelling in Sri Lanka when we have arrived early, and not been given our /a room within 20 minutes of arrival (as this is the average time to clean). However, we arrived at 11am assuming we would have our room by 12:30pm as check out is 12. We did not receive our room until after 2. - Once we received our room, we were disgusted to find red blood stains on the bed sheet. There were blood splatter stains on the main body of the bed sheet and orange rust stains at the end of the bed sheet. We could clearly see the difference, and these were definitely blood stains. - In addition, on *********** they said they would provide a hair dryer, tea and coffee, free toiletries, TV - none of these were provided, TV unplugged. - Swimming pool was very dirty, could feel the slime on the floor of the pool. - In the evening and in the morning there was a lot of banging come from upstairs. - Limited pool side seating and deck chair covers were cheap, thin and soaking wet from when other customers had used them. - WIFI did not work in our room. Overall, not a particularly good stay, and wouldn't return.

This place is in a lovely location , right on the beach round the corner from turtle beach. You can step out of the pool area and directly onto the old reef. Turn left and you can walk to the end of Narigama beach, if the tide is out! Turn right and you are on turtle beach in 5 minutes. It is close to many restaurants and a 10/12 minute walk to the railway station. The rooms are large and airy, with very comfortable large beds. The wifi is good and the TV even has a few good English news and sports channels. The staff are a great bunch, very helpful and cheery. The breakfasts were quite substantial and would set you up for the day! The pool area is lovely but the surrounds could do with a bit of maintenance. I realise they are recovering from the pandemic and the economic situation there at the moment. But with a little time and investment on towels, sheets and some more staff, this place would be an absolute gem. Thankyou for a lovely 2 week stay.

We stayed one night. The manager is verry good. More welcoming😊. We stayed a beach front room.Room is ok. But they didn't provide tea coffe facilities.There is free parking available to guests. Also wifi available nd verry speed. Hikka FnR villa make our stay verry relaxing happily🤩🤩 and enjoyable.

This hotel is a very beautiful place located close to the world famous Hikkaduwa beach. I attended a party here with my family and friends. Free parking is available. The food was very tasty and the service was very friendly. The very safe swimming pool is a great place for little ones to have fun. Turtles were also spotted on the coral reefs and there were safe bathing spots. I highly recommended this hotel.
