Rosentalerhof Hotel & Appartements

This is our 3rd time staying at Rosentalerhof and I’m confident we’ll never stay anywhere else in Hinterglemm as it gets better every year. Caters for every type of traveller and their service and facilities are second to none. Martin and Andrea are the perfect hosts and know exactly the type of customer they are catering for. Reception/Bar/Restaurant: A lovely casual space where you always get service with a smile. Bar prices aren’t silly hotel prices (the beer is some of the cheapest in resort) and although we’ve only visited in the winter season, I’m looking forward to trying the pool service in the summer. There’s even an indoor soft play for the kids. Rooms: Between our group, we’ve stayed in most of the rooms in the main hotel. All are well equipped, comfortable and have mega hot showers (important after a cold day in the mountains!). They even provide unlimited hair and body wash and hand soap (rather than the usual miniatures most hotels provide) in the bathrooms. The majority have stunning views of the mountains as an added bonus. Food: The half board option that is offered as standard in the winter is exceptional. In 21 evening meals over the last 3 years, I cannot recall a single bad meal. There’s always plenty of salad choice from the buffet and the main course options are always great (the beef cheek and mash this year was one of the best things I’ve ever eaten). If I had to nitpick, although always nice, the desserts aren’t always my first choice, but that’s because I’m greedy and have a sweet tooth. Breakfast isn’t something I can find fault with, however. Plenty of fruit, freshly baked bread, unlimited coffee (of various options) and juices; scrambled egg and bacon, along with a daily choice of different Austrian sausages, boiled eggs, various baked bread….and that’s before even mentioning the plentiful choice of cereals, yoghurt and the incredible homemade Muesli (which is a sort of overnight oats thing that tastes amazing). Oh and not to mention Andrea’s homemade fruit crumble which sometimes appears) Facilities/Amenities: Where to begin…huge heated boot and ski room to dry your stuff every day (even heated drying lockers if stuff is really wet). The heated outdoor pool and sauna/Steam room is a welcome option at the end of the day. There’s a relaxation room and even a separate naked relaxation area if that’s what floats your boat. Lift passes for the mountain can be purchased at reception to save queuing at the lifts and there’s a small gym as well. There’s not much they haven’t thought of and in the summer, its location means it’s right next to the mini golf course and children’s play park. What makes all of this a winning formula is that the hotel’s pricing is extremely reasonable. Although Martin made a conscious decision to not have his hotel officially star rated, you are essentially paying 3* prices for (at least) 4* facilities. We returned to the Rosentalerhof for our family skiing holiday this year after a great experience last year. Saalbach-Hinterglemm is a great family friendly resort and really works for our kids aged 10, 14 & 16. We stayed in a really good sized two bed apartment which offers great facilities and plenty of space to either do things together as a family of spend a little time apart from each other. Having eaten a few times in the hotel restaurant last year whilst eating elsewhere a few evenings and doing our own thing for breakfast, we decided to simplify life this year and went for the half board option which did not disappoint. The quality and range of options for breakfast was amazing. Even the fussiest of kids will find something they like and the evening meals were superb. Great quality food and the service by all the staff was outstanding. The hotel facilities themselves are great. Everything has been executed with real thought and attention to detail. Its just a lovely place to spend time, everything just works and it really is a great place to spend time. The spa area is amazing. We used it everyday to unwind after a great day skiing. The heated outdoor pool with fantastic mountain views was great for the kids and adults alike and the sauna, steam room and chill out areas are perfect. The eldest even managed to make use of the gym. Where the Rosentalerhof really excels is the service. It has that attentive, caring family feel with excellent staff that you just don't at larger places and you certainly don't get at corporate chain hotels. We struggle to find fault with it and will definitely be back and can't recommend it highly enough.

A charming hotel and everything very clean and well-kept. Amazing located. Owners are very nice and helpful. We have been there for the last 3 years to go to ski with friends and we have all a skier needs. Good facilities and the pool and sauna are incredible.

Very nice accomodation and excellent location. The owners are really friendly and supportive. Regular cleaning, shower is great as well. The skiroom is outstanding! Distance to the skilift and the city centre are trully close by, just a few minutes walk.

Excellent location and venue, great hosts, facilities over the top and exquisite cleanliness. Our favourite vacation venue. There are plenty of things to do indoor with children and for parents. Hosts always happy to help. Nobody gets in your way, always there to answer your questions.

Very impressive. good looking hotel, really nice location close to minigolf, familypark with playground and waterplayground, close to shops and supermarket. Also very close to the busstop and Reiterkogel. Overall VERY clean and tidy. Very friendly and helpful staff. So good service from the staff. If it was possible to give 10 stars, the pool area deserves this. Heated pool (28 degrees celcius) open all day till 21.00 hours. Apartments very light, bright, modern , nice kitchen (No owen - only microwave), very nice beds, good bathrooms an balcony. Very often change of towels, kitchentowels, fill-up of dishtabs. Everything was just 10 stars at this hotel.

Very good value for money. One of the rare hotels we come again and again; good location near the ski lift, friendly staff, the warm pool and food is good enough. The staff really tries to fullfill your needs.

Location at short waking distance from Hinterglemm center, gondolas, grocery shops etc. Super helpful staff, well organised ski room with hearing system for boots and gloves Appartment with en-suite bathrooms. Great breakfast. We could park our easily in front of the hotel… Highly recommend
