Glenwood City Resort

Thao Dien Ho Chi Minh City|2km from Landmark 81
If you are considering to rent an apartment from Glenwood or use their Resort, stop here unless you want to pay $300 USD a month in electricity. I am an American living in Ho Chi Minh for 2 years. This place took total advantage of me and my fiance during the hardcore lockdown in Ho Chi Minh in Septmber of 2021. During the no go outside order by the Vietnamese government this place forcrmed us to come outside (by turning off our electricity and water) they forced us to cross the street to pay our rent and our Electric bill which was a 7 million electric ($309 USD) bill which is 5 times higher than the average electric bill. Check back soon and I will be attaching a link to our YouTube video showing how Shady that place is. When we came across the street to pay the bill we were also filming and they told us to turn off our cameras. We refused, in my experience the only people who don't want to be caught on film are those who are doing something wrong. The YouTube video will also show our electric meter spinning like crazy, so fast you cannot even see the black marker on the turning wheel. They installed a new electric meter in our unit and you can hear it grinding the gears at times because it can't even go that fast. They forced us to pay a six million electric bill the next month because we could not leave due to the hardcore lockdown and Ho Chi Minh. Avoid Glenwood Residence and Apartments in Glenwood Resort at all cost. Greenwood was given the opportunity to refund all of our electricity except for an average bill to avoid a one-star review. They failed to heed the warning. I am also doing negative reviews on all Resort sites next. The had the chance to do the right thing, return my full deposit and all my electric charges except a fair amount, they declined. This review will their Karma.

NO SPA AS ADVERTISED WE BOOKED MONTHS AGO TO FIND OUT THIS ISNT EVEN A SPA HOTEL. Restaurant worker very creepy super unsatisfied with the experience in general, I did not get served was told I had to get my own food. When I was getting my food a male restaurant worker came to stare at my pregnant wife (this was the fourth time he made her uncomfortable over two days). this creepy man paced back and forth near our table toward the back of the restaurant (we wanted privacy) despite there being no one else in the place. will never come back there again. Ordered pork ribs and it was entirely bones barely any meat or flavoring on the chicken pesto spent over $20 USD for literal fried garbage. Pesto chicken had no flavor. OVERPRICED, as was everything in the “spa hotel” (once again NO SPA FALSE ADVERTISING!!!) Staff never gave us an elevator key, which is different than the room key, so we spent fifteen minutes just trying to get back downstairs after a horrible “restaurant” experience. They couldn’t figure out how to get us down either. Was told the manager would be up to talk with us shortly and after about an hour and a half I had to call the front desk twice before they actually sent someone, not a manager, to our room who had zero solution to any issues just promised us “free stuff”. Which we never received. On top of my money back I want my time back! Horrible hotel DO NOT STAY HERE unless you want a misleading, extorting experience. You’d be better off at an air b n b. Overpriced and a terrible time. Rooms are not soundproof you can hear everyone’s conversations outside and every door slam shut. My pregnant wife and I barely got any sleep, and it was supposed to be a spa hotel experience. What a joke! Management NEVER came to speak with us. They just ignored us all day. I’m assuming there is no management on staff as no one ever came to talk to us, which seems incredible. DONT STAY HERE save money and have a better experience anywhere else.

Good location and good view Be sure to ask for a higher floor We stayed on the 22nd floor and wished it was a little higher. It was nice that the water tap was clean and the restrooms were almost as clean as Korea. It seems like it would be difficult to use the swimming pool. If you want a swimming pool, look elsewhere. The staff's feedback was very quick and it was convenient as there was a place to store luggage near the accommodation. And be sure to visit the park in front of the accommodation. Be sure to visit the 75th floor cafe at least once in the evening!

The room was amazing and we highly recommend it. The rooms are large, comfortable and well maintained. The kitchen has all you need with a large fridge and a nice view. The pool is amazing and the location is supreb! Close to everything including skating, restaurants, playgrounds, parks and a very good shopping mall with views from above. We checked in at midnight and the team was up and welcoming us. Great communication from the owner. Very helpful while we were there answering all our questions.

The location is good. Even though I arrived early in the morning, the service staff came relatively quickly. The check-in and check-out services were both good. The check-out lady also helped with luggage and was very welcoming. The room is clean, but there are some minor issues with the curtains. The lack of curtains on the side windows is a bit lacking.

Negatives: 1) Check-in hiccup - there's no receptionist & I wasn't informed. Security guard on duty told me to contact the host directly. Apparently self check-in was the way but the host did not provide any instructions prior to my arrival. Had to contact Trip.com and fortunately the issue was efficiently resolved within 15min by Trip.com. 2) Music blasting! - every morning and evening there is corridor music blasting super loud! Whilst it's pleasant piano music, but it's so loud it wakes me up every morning at 7am! It lasts about an hour each time. Positives: 1) the location - superb! Not far from the airport also. 2) facilities - good, generally clean the apartment was, although there was a lone cockroach lurking around the fridge area! Also there is no daily cleaning provided, it's more of AirBnB style - self cleaning. 3) Amenities nearby - big mall, Vincom Center, nearby, with plethora of F&B options, brand names retail shops and a huge supermarket. There are a few nice eateries within walking distance. 4) Suitability - great for family or solo travelers, it's spacious and comfortable, with laundry facility in each unit. Due to the height of the building, washed clothes are easily air-dried within 24 hours. 5) Friendly host - and very accommodating also, allowed me late check-out at 1pm (regular time 12n). I will definitely stay here again in the future. Highly recommended.

Hotel was awesome. From the time you step into your lobby, you are very well taken care of until check out. The hotel facilities have everything. They are very attentive of your every single needs. Thank you Vinpearl for giving your best! Room is definitely more pricey but it is really worth paying to enjoy top notch services and facilities.
