Happy Life Grand Hotel & Sky Bar

Ho Chi Minh City|0.51km from Quan Ut Ut - Vo Van Kiet
Booked this particular hotel as I wanted a pool. Although a little overpriced. Went to the skybar for a drink, no menus on table, was shown drinks menu in a electronic tablet, ordered a small tiger beer. Thought it was 50k, ordered another 1ltr tiger draught 250k, again overpriced, but thought would be easier. When asked for the bill was given total of 542,850! They charged 120 and 350k for the drinks, AND tax on top of that! Queried and argued with manager who agreed to give me 20% ”discount”. Paid in disgust, to sort out with hotel manager in morning. Aircon in room not cool at night. Called to have it looked at nothing they could do. They put up a sign on lift in the morning advising pool cannot be used until the following day due to a wedding! Had they told me yesterday pool was unavailable I would not have checked in!!!! Spent 2 hours with asst manager and telephoning manager, asking for a refund or extended checkout. Would not provide. Eventually agreed to extended checkout after a few hours. This hotel/bar falsely advertises facilities, could have advised pool not available, then STEALS from guests by advertising a price and charging something completely different. I have not experienced anything like this in any other hotel I've stayed in anywhere in the world. Ohh and today was advised doing lift maintenance, will be 30 mins, 4 hours later no lift, had to walk with luggage from 6th floor. No hotel staff assistance. Eventually got correct change from drinks money stolen AVOID AT ALL COSTS.

The price/performance ratio is very high. The black decoration style is very good. It is rare that there are several staff members at the front desk at this price. It is very good. In addition, the room type is comfortable for one person, but the air conditioner is not powerful enough.

I stayed for 2 nights while looking for various accommodations. The location is about a 7-minute walk from downtown. I'm far away, but it's okay to walk However, the inside is a bit poor compared to the exterior and photos. Smell from washing machine drain It was just about the size of a studio. But it's not bad if you just sleep.. I think a hotel would be good for a similar price.

A quiet place with many supermarkets around. We were 3 days in Saigon , use the bolt application to use transport. Not worried, it's very clean and well located.

I visited HCM city 2 weeks ago and stayed at one of the apt of Justay Millennium. I was hooked by my friend saying that it is the best service and experience I would ever have. Turns out, not quite. 1. When I checked in, I was required to submit a million vnđ (which equals to about $45) in case any damage happens after I have paid for all of my stay there. My friend was not required to submit any amount of money. 2. Everything went well until I decided to extended my stay for 2 more night after my trip away from the city. They charged me the same thing, the same fee and stuffs like that. After I re-checked in for those 2 nights, they message me saying that I have to come down and pay for those 2 nights without checking with their own staffs/collegues. Fortunately, I had a confirmation text from their team member so I showed it to them, there was sincere apology received. 3. When I finally checked out, the staff said he has to check the room before proceeding the process. He went down and told me that they have to charge me some amount of money because THERE IS DIRTY SHEETS IN BED. Afterwards he said that he had to call his manager to see how much they would charge me. I was furious I went back upstairs to retrieve the tips that I intended to leave. I went down the staff said there would be mo charge but they would not accommodate me to the airport. Here's my concern, they open hotel/lodging business and expect the sheets to be nice and clean after a stay? I grew up in Vietnam and I had seen this same kind of situation in which they will try to charge guests some pathetic fees. Please don't let my experience making your trip awful.
