"Disappointed. The place is magical but in winter, frankly, the services are at a minimum (I don't know in summer). The bungalows are comfortable and clean even if quite basic. The problem for us is more in the meals because on site, well, you are in the middle of nothing and we expected better. But what a place!"

"And what a View! The hotel is perched on the hillside overlooking Al Hamra. We so enjoyed just sitting on our balcony looking at the landscape and the dramatic mountains. The room was dated but very comfortable with an excellent shower and bathroom. Wifi was perfect. The food was tasty and served by enthusiastic and hardworking staff. I did have a facial at The View and would recommend a visit to the salon. The only negative was a few of the portering staff seemed a bit grumpy. Yes, the place is worth a visit."

"The resort is located far from everything and is difficult to reach. The road is poorly signposted. The property has clearly seen better days. It could have been a beautiful setting, but it is now completely run down. Many facilities are old or broken: the outdoor lights do not work, and the pathways and wooden pergola are in poor condition. The rooms are spacious and offer a nice view, but the furniture is outdated. There was no hot water, the towels were dirty, and some of the locks did not work. There was also no terrace furniture provided. The food was served as an Indian-style buffet, but the quality was disappointing. The breakfast was downright poor. In addition, the staff seemed to pay attention mainly to the Indian guests and not to us. Never saw the pool. This is definitely not a place we would return to."

"I truly prefer remote hotels like this. But you should only go here if you rent a 4x4 vehicle designed for off-road driving. The road up the mountain isn't too bad, but you have to be careful. And the hotel is a real experience. Beautifully designed gardens, superbly located cabins with private space, terraces, and great views from everywhere. The interior design is very eclectic; perhaps they didn't know what to put in here, but you'll find your grandmother's bedside table and the most modern bathtub with a view. The waiters are very friendly, and the buffet dinner selection is wide, with excellent meats cooked on the grill. You can also order any kind of egg you like for breakfast. It's a dry hotel, serving only mocktails, so BYOB if you feel like it. You can relax by the pool, and although the restaurant is closed during the day, you can order food and drinks here. The wonders of Oman can be found in the surrounding area, so it's worth taking a trip. Travel guides also recommend the road to Al Hutah, Jebel Hat, and Bald Sayt if you're driving back to Muscat, as this is Oman's most scenic route. There's no doubt about that. But only take it if you have a 4x4 vehicle, serious driving experience, and if you want to feel like you're in the IRT: Deadliest Roads series. After Jebel Hat, there is no turning back, and you will encounter ravines, climbs, and curves for almost two hours. It is certainly an experience of a lifetime, and you will never want to see another canyon again!"
