"Really love the hotel, super clean and strategically located in the heart of Old Town Riga! We can just simply walk around the old town at night, near to shopping mall and the hotel also provide paid parking space. Nice Breakfast as well. Would love to go there again someday."

"The room and bathroom were very clean throughout our stay, thanks to the cleaning staff (we didn’t get the chance to meet them). Room was perfect for us; good mattress, fridge, kettle, toiletries and extras, including soft slippers. Hot water and heating all good. Location of the hotel is strategic, it’s on a street that goes towards the central train station and bus station, it’s near to public transport stops such as buses and trams, with plenty of cafes and restaurants around, even supermarkets. I can highly recommend this hotel."

"Hotel staff was very welcoming at check in and provided a map of Old Riga and made suggestions for things to see and do. The room itself is clean and includes all necessary amenities. If you plan to do laundry, there’s a 4.50 euro charge to enter the laundry room and then you can use it as much as you want. Bring your own detergent! Great location In the heart of Old Riga by the House of Blackheads. Walking distance within a lot of attractions , especially the Christmas market if you’re visiting in the winter time. It’s also around the corner from the famous Ala Pagrabs. It’s been full every time I went so I had to settle for a seat at the bar which is not very comfortable! Eating out can become expensive so I appreciated being near Rimi Express to buy drinks and snacks that I could put in the mini fridge."

"Underwhelming. The general hotel is nice but the rooms are quite modest and the housekeeping service was spotty — no soap in the shower, missed service one day of two. Located across from a nice park but not near the old town. From desk staff were the highlight though — very nice and friendly."

"The hotel is well located on the edge of the old town, a few minutes walk from the all old town attractions, excursion pick up points and tourist office. Excellent check in, well appointed room overlooking the river. A higher room would have been preferable, but room facilities excellent. Although accommodation is very reasonably priced, we found the €20 pp charge for use of the spa facilities a little out of kilter. Disappointed and surprised - especially at this time year - that we were not allowed a late checked even at the cost of €15 per hour after 1pm."

"For 41€ I will give 5 stars. Good location, looks new and clean. I would recommend getting a mattress protector or fitted sheet. The sheet keep rolling up and you basically sleep on a plain mattress"

"My stay at the Grand Poet was truly exceptional. The hotel perfectly combines modern elegance with a warm, relaxed atmosphere. The rooms are spacious, beautifully designed, and equipped with every comfort, the beds are incredibly comfortable and the park view is lovely. The spa is a real gem, ideal after a day of exploring the city, and breakfast deserves special praise for its quality and variety. The staff are always attentive, professional, and genuinely kind. A place that turns a stay in Riga into a pure pleasure."

"Central hostel was simply wonderful. It was very clean, quiet and peaceful. The staff were fantastic and very helpful, especially Alana who gave me lots of good advice and information to help me find my way about and where to go and what to see. The owners have added a lot of lovely homely elements to the hostel. You really feel at home there. The outside courtyard has been created beautifully with pots of flowers and hanging baskets. There are seating areas outside in the courtyard too. This is the best hostel! My room at was fantastic, a comfortable bed, storage and lots of room."

"The Pullman is a very upscale hotel, centrally located in the old town of Riga. Getting here from the airport was easy, and the check-in was smooth. The staff greeted me with a smile and provided tips about Riga. The room was clean, spacious and you could tell its been recently renovated. The Spa facilities left a bit to be desired, with a tiny pool and a sauna that didn't get too hot. Still, the restaraunt in the hotel made up for it with excellent food and service. For the price paid I was blown away. Would definitely stay again."

"I usually don't bother writing reviews, but this place had quite a few things to complain about. **Location:** It's a bit of a distance from the old town, about a 15-minute walk. However, it's conveniently located right next to a large shopping mall, making shopping and dining very easy. **First, the positives:** The room was quite spacious, just as shown in the pictures. Two complimentary bottles of mineral water were provided. Slippers and toothbrushes were available (though you had to ask the front desk for them). **Now for the downsides:** **Service:** The female front desk staff's English was very poor, making communication a real challenge. The male front desk staff (who also seemed to be working as a bartender) had an unpleasant attitude. **Facilities:** The pillows were absolutely dreadful! The filling felt like lumpy, hard cotton, making it completely impossible to sleep! **Booking & Room Setup:** When I made the booking, I clearly specified 3 adults + 1 child (9 years old). After checking in and getting to our room, we found that the sofa bed hadn't been made up, but instead, they had provided a baby crib. When we contacted the front desk, their response was that ”their booking information indicated there was a small baby in the group.” Even so, is it reasonable to expect three adults to sleep in one bed? They eventually made up the sofa bed, but only provided a single duvet. When we asked the front desk for another duvet or to swap it for a double one, we were told that housekeeping had already left (it was 6 PM at the time), and they had no idea where the blankets were... **Late Checkout:** When I inquired about a late checkout, the front desk staff pretended to check the booking, typing away on the keyboard, only to then say, ”Sorry, we're fully booked.” However, I quickly checked online myself and saw that the same room type was clearly available on Ctrip... In my opinion, a direct 'no' would have been far better than such a disingenuous charade! **Conclusion:** Based on all of this, I won't be choosing this Mercure hotel again for my next visit."
