Four Seasons Hotel Istanbul at Sultanahmet

Sultan Ahmed Mosque Istanbul|0.08km from Akbiyik Street
The room is not big, but the location is super good. The hotel's garden is also very nice, and it's quite nice to take photos. Just 2 minutes after going out, turn right and you will see the Blue Mosque and Sophia Cathedral. There are two Egyptian monuments and a snake-headed staff on the square. The starting point of the sightseeing tour bus is right on the square. It is very convenient to get there. To exit the square, go left. Going out is Victory Street, which is very lively and has trams running through it, which is also very unique. Go down (right) on Victory Street and you will go to the Old Palace. If you look at the mosque on the left and Sophia Cathedral on the right, the Basilica Cistern is on the right side of the square. The entrance to the Basilica Cistern is where people are queuing across the road. We stayed for 5 nights and walked around every day. It was very atmospheric. In Muslim countries, prayers are held five times a day. When the loudspeaker sounds, it is most disturbing in the early morning. However, they seem to be very conscious, and the volume is slightly lower in the morning and the duration is shorter. The rest of the time, just enjoy listening to music when praying. Every time, there is a live broadcast of prayers in every mosque, playing a long tune as if singing, which is very exotic. Basically, you have to negotiate the price of a taxi, and Grab also negotiates the price. They all charge extortionate prices, so you must negotiate before getting in the car.

Sultan Ahmed Mosque Istanbul|0.03km from Akbiyik Street
Wow !! This place is the worst place I've ever been to in my life !! And I'm 64 years old!! From getting dropped off outside the place my heart sunk !! . Going into the small reception area I was guessing it wasn't looking good . After a 10 minute or more wait the reception person turns up karim , not the most presentable person we have ever come across . Asked him which floor we were on . Asked if we could have his best room with a good view . Told us room 305 on the 3rd floor would be suitable . So was given the key and directed to the very small tight spiral staircase . We struggled up these stairs with one small suitcase each and a back pack . My partner is 69 she was offered no assistance . Well when we got to the landing and found the entrance . Very narrow with 2 old wardrobe doors against the wall . We entered the room !! .massive disappointment!!! The smell was unbelievable.. Real bad on first thought it was how small and grubby it looked . Cramed in there was a double bed wedged up to the far wall at the bottom of that a single bed . The room was long and narrow . A small wardrobe on on the left hand side .... with no doors on ,they were on the landing !! The far end was the wc and shower really grubby and dirty . The shower tray around the bottom of the doors and tiles were just black really grubby !! Going up the other end to look at the bedding pillows etc on the double bed , we'll im a builder and stayed in some places working away in my time . But nothing like this !! The wall on the righthand side were the bed was wedged in was filthy . There was a very dirty net at the back of the bed covering the small patio door that once you opened hit the bedhead and wouldn't close till you pushed the headboard over . This point we are so upset ... oh I'm forgetting . Tv wouldn't come on and was the same with the air con . At this point I said to my partner we need to get out of here and go look round see what else is available. We had made are minds up straight away we couldnt stop there . Before we went out we climbed the stairs to the roof terrace !! What a disappointment that was dirty . Decrepit furniture past its sell by date really grubby . Not a place to sit and relax at all . So as you can guess we moved on to a lovely place more suited to are needs . I'm sorry but I wouldn't pay £5 per night to stay here even if I was single and traveling !! Please avoid this place in our opinion it was disgusting!!!

Sultan Ahmed Mosque
An amazing hotel with some of the best service and friendliest people. The breakfast was the highlight and the knowledge of the staff was invaluable when planning our itinerary. I loved the room themes and loved the Agatha Christie room which was extremely comfortable. Best bed I’ve slept in, in a hotel in a long time. Thank you for the amazing stay and I would definetly come again. Downside were the restaurants near the hotel…a bit of a tourist trap with everything costing three times the amount it should. Rather eat where the locals go. Lots of amazing places to eat near the grand bazaar.

We enjoyed 4 nights. Hotel rooms spotlessly clean. Reception staff very helpful and breakfast tasty. The best part of this hotel is the view. The terrace faces directly onto the Blue Mosque with a side view of the Hippodrome and the Golden Horn. Out of our 💨 (310) we could see the Hagia Sophia. Quite wonderful.

From our early morning arrival to our departure three days later we felt at home in this lovely hotel. The manager and staff made us feel as though we were part of their family. The hotel was spotlessly clean, the rooms were very comfortable, the location was excellent, the breakfasts were very good and the rates were very reasonable. We loved Istanbul, and we were delighted that we chose the Henna. We would recommend this hotel and return without a second thought. First class.

I landed in Istanbul at 6PM and had tickets for a 9:45PM football match at Galatasaray. I was trying in Old City to get a cab and could not. I see a man walking outside Genius Hotel with a Galatasaray kit on and asked him how I can get to the stadium. I had never been in Turkey before and I was really nervous I would not be able to get to the match that I spent so much effort to get tickets to. The man actually drives me and my friend to the game and we had such a great time. Amin, the manager of the hotel, did this for free and did not ask for anything in return. We came back to thank him the next day, and ended up using his shuttle service to get to the airport for our flight a few days later. The shuttle service here was prompt, professional, and very easy. It made our airport trip so much less stressful, and Amin the manager once again was very personable, gracious, and professional. My experience going to the football match helped me realize how amazing the Turkish people are and I would totally stay at Genius hotel when I hopefully come back to Istanbul! Amazing people.

Old City Sultanahmet
