"On our first attempt we drove right past the entrance-the demolished building at the entrance made us wonder if we were in the right place, but as soon as we were through the gates, we could see that we were somewhere exceptional. The building is elegant, the grounds superb, and the public spaces roomy with welcoming decor. It's more of a big B&B rather than a small hotel, but a very good one. I suspect that we had the smallest of the rooms, but we were comfortable enough for our 4 nights. Ter Wallen is an easy walk from the Markt square and the station, so it's a good spot for exploring this part of Belgium, and close enough to some of the historic battlefields for a day trip. Izigem itself is a nice small town, with plenty of spots to enjoy a beer or two. Ter Wallen's breakfast is on the expensive side; we only had breakfast on one morning but it was very good."

"We booked the hotel on recommendation from a friend who stayed here last year . And all we can say is the place is utterly beautiful and we’ve so enjoyed our 3 nights and the use of the gym with my husband looking gorgeous all pumped up …! We had an evening in the bar and met the wonderful Angelique who never stopped cleaning , tidying and keeping us topped up with beverages. I run two uk based companies and would be proud to have this young lady as part or the team so please please reward her for the services she provided on our visit . Nicko + Jason x"

"Excellent location close to the square and the Menin Gate. Lovely room, although layout a little strange with sink in the room and separate wc and shower. Shower wasn't as clean as we would have liked and leaked out into the room, so perhaps the design needs addressing. Really comfortable bed and complimentary water was appreciated. Bar closed at 10.30pm."
