The hotel is very big, right on the seaside, and has its own characteristics. There are turtles and dolphins inside. We specially booked a room that can see the dolphin pool. Every day when you open the window, you can see these little elves playing in the water, which is very happy! The hotel is relatively large, and the services such as carrying luggage are not that active, mainly because there are so many people. Parking is self-service, and you can also pay for it, but I don’t think it is necessary. It is still very convenient. You can take a small train to your room and work at the front desk. The staff will also tell you which way to go, and the design of the train is very user-friendly. The steps to get on the train are flat, which is very convenient. The hotel also has a cruise ship, which you can take at the station and take a nice tour. There are also many restaurants in the hotel with all kinds of snacks. You can also go out to the living area at the door, which has shopping malls, gas stations, supermarkets, and various steaks and Japanese dishes. Some people say that the Big Island is desolate, but that is not the case. This is a very unique island with very mature living areas. This hotel is located in a very complete area. Once you enter, this space can surpass Maui in seconds, and the surrounding area is very There are characteristics, they are all lava lands.

Excellent resort! We stayed a full week, it was amazing, so quiet and peaceful. Great service. We grilled every night. A short walk to Duke's. Concierge was very helpful. Wonderful gym. Great pool and hot tub. The best! My husband snorkeled right in from of the resort and saw beautiful fish.

Woken up by a COCKROACH crawling ON MY ARM while I was sleeping in the not-so-Heavenly bed. Had seen a few roaches in the kitchen and on the patio previously, but it's Hawaii and they are there. But in my bed? Yeah no. Husband tried to kill it and broke is glasses in the ensuing 2am chaos. This all had to do with housekeeping refusing to provide the daily service that our room rate was suppose to include (according to front desk). Asked to speak with resort manager twice and, to date (we are home now) zero communication. Asked concierge for contact info and they claimed not to know how to contact management.

I’m an owner at this property and have to say, money is better spent elsewhere. When you’re an owner, they don’t offer housekeeping every day. The restaurant on the Nanea property is a little bizarre in food choices, and last we were there I n July 2023, wasn’t even open for dinner. The only food option was the pool bar. And next door at the Westin Kaanapali, Pulehu had been closed since Covid, and no idea why they haven’t reopened it yet. Kids club is closed, and aside from pool dining areas, the food truck at the beach is open, but it’s walk up only, and good luck getting a table without long wait. All in all, a stressful vacation when you’re looking to unwind and feel pampered with great customer service. If you DO visit any pool at either property, good luck getting the servers attention. We’re literally there to spend money, and it’s like they don’t care. You’d think they have lots of staff to cater to your whims while at the pool, but nope. You have to hunt them down. All in all, I wouldn’t come here if not for the ownership we were duped in to, and the resale rules are so aggregious, I feel stuck. So we go, and I’m going again in June, but every time we go, we usually leave saying “let’s just give away our rooms and go stay somewhere else next time.” I won’t let it go to waste so here we go again, but for a seasoned traveler, who enjoys a little bit of splurge when taking my family to Hawaii, this isn’t it….

We’re owners and food and service has significantly gone downhill. We come a couple of time a year and frankly the food is horrible. The service is hit or miss. Some of the waitstaff is excellent and others are worse than anywhere I’ve seen. We struggled even getting water at the pool.

2nd time…. So, we are vacation owners, which means take this review with that knowledge in mind. For a family of 5, you can’t beat this place. Full kitchen, huge rooms, comfortable beds, balcony that can seat the entire family, gigantic bathrooms, excellent onsite bar and restaurant, gigantic pools for the kids, excellent location in Kaanapali. The only site gym is top notch, the beach side path was utilized daily, and we found the snorkeling right in front of and south of the resort to equal anywhere in Maui. We’ll be back. I recommend this place to families in particular

The rooms are lovely, clean, nicely appointed, and the grounds are pretty. Staff is so kind and responsive. BBQ area is very nice. Beach is great for snorkeling and whale watching. On site dining options are very disappointing. And because the kids' pool areas are merged into the main pool you can expect lots of noise, to be splashed, or hit in the head with a nerf ball, even in the adult hot tub. Lots of people coming in from neighboring facilities and taking up chaises and reserving of chaises for hours on end. They leave a "ticket" but there doesn't appear to be follow up. Lastly, the layout of the kitchen is awful. You can either access the pantry, open the refrigerator, or open the dishwasher but only one at a time. If I brought kids I would likely think our stay was great but without it was good. I much prefer the Westin North Villas!

This is our first time staying at this property. It has been nothing but amazing! The resort is beautiful and clean. The people working here are very friendly and helpful. It's nice it's right on the beach!! We will stay here again in the future. The beds are very comfortable and we like all the amenities this place offers..We do wish the restaurants were open longer, but thats not a big deal. The only downfall is we had a lady at the concierge trying to pretty much beg me too listen to their 90 minute talk about being a time share owner. I kept saying I wasn't interested but she almost didn't want to take no for an answer.

We stayed in February for a week. We’re not vacation club owners and we paid for our stay directly with Marriott. We’ve stayed (and reviewed) before so I’ll keep the review brief as most of the content of my previous reviews still applies. Check in was quick and friendly. We were given an overview of the resort and allocated a 2 bedroom suite on the 3rd floor. We only had a view of the carpark but that’s all we’d paid for. It was above the main entrance to the hotel and occasionally got a bit noisy. The rooms appear to have had a minor refresh since we last stayed which makes the rooms look a bit more modern but overall the suites were great anyway with a full kitchen, living area and two bedrooms with the standard amazing westin king size beds and large en suite bathrooms, one of which has a washer/dryer and can be accessed via the living room and bedroom. We used the gym a few times. It’s large and well equipped.. The pool area was fairly busy and finding loungers can be a problem. There is an issue with people reserving loungers all day which the hotel does try and manage but I can see that it’s a difficult balance and more the fault of guests than the hotel. There are usually loungers further back by the two smaller pools which we also found offered some shelter when it was windy. If you can get a lounger the pool facilities are great. We ate at the pool bar a few times. Food was decent enough. The cocktails were consistently poor unfortunately, particularly for $18 plus tax each. The mai tai was the first I’ve had in Hawaii that I wouldn’t bother with again. A couple of detractors were the parking which has almost double from a reasonable $15 to $25 per day in just a couple of years and given the near $1000 per night room cost smacks of penny pinching. Equally, the towel card policy is very budget for this kind of property, with warnings of fees if the cards aren’t returned on check out. I really can’t see that enough of these faded stripy yellow towels are going AWOL to justify the hassle. That said, this is a great resort overall and the issues we experienced were minor in the big scheme of things. Sadly, we probably won’t return. Room rates for this hotel are now routinely $1000+ per night plus tax and parking. Maui in general is very expensive but the increases over the last couple of years are excessive and we can no longer justify the additional spend above other beach destinations. I suspect we aren’t the only ones and as much as we love Maui there are similar resort destinations, often all inclusive, available for less than half the price. Not specifically the fault of this hotel, more the industry in general

Although the accommodations were great, was disappointed, in the overall resort, not realizing that it catered to families, especially families, with children under the age of five, where the grandparents become the babysitter, so the young adult children can get some time away from there young families. Multiple areas where they want to talk to you and try to sell or upgrade your timeshare. Beach rentals, cabanas, and daybed rental prices were outrageous. Rent your beach chairs and umbrellas from one of the offsite locations and support the local community.

This was a great property I stayed at. I loved everything about it. There was lots of food. Lots of great service. The rooms were very clean. I would say that they are not very clear on smoking policies as one paper said we were allowed to smoke in a certain area and the other said we didn’t.

We stayed two weeks at this resort with my husband's family who were silly enough to buy in to a timeshare. Resort is small, very sterile decorations, one restaurant and one small pool that is full constantly. Have to wake up early for a chance at a chair that is surrounded by smelly old people and small children. My husband has a beard and a ponytail and was surrounded by security upon our arrival back to the hotel one evening( we have been here 10 days at this point) and they tell him someone doesn't think he's supposed to be at this hotel and is he in the right spot... Really is that because we smile and are young? This place is the worst. Go anywhere else.

A beautiful resort steps from the beach, numerous restaurants and bars. Wins are the pool - both adult and family friendly. Rooms are beautiful and full of many great amenities. Service at the pool and areas is weak and not what we would have expected.

Our family of eight -- grandparents, kids and grandkids -- had an awesome experience with photographer Kaui with Blinnk photography. The session was easy, quick and fun, even for a 5 yr, 8 yr and 9 yr old and yielded great results . . . the video and prints were top quality. We're so glad that it was so easy to get great family photos right at our Nanea resort!

Nice location pool area good for kids not suitable for swimming laps. But you could walk over to sister resort to use their pools.
