White Rocks Hotel Kefalonia

Arrival was smooth, with a drop off ten minutes from the airport, which obviously means there is aircraft noise throughout the day at the hotel. We had a sea view which meant that we were close to the public beach which was noisy until around 2am especially at the weekend. The room service was hit and miss, twice during our week stay our room wasn’t made up, and we were blamed for having our “ do not disturb “ on , we didn’t have it on! The air con didn’t work, but they stated it did!!! It was bloody hot! The buffet restaurant was great for breakfast and dinner. The pool beds were the most comfortable we have ever used and we never struggled to find one. Bring water shoes if you plan on using the sea beach close to the hotel, it’s quite rocky going into the sea. Walk to the public beach with the fixed brollies ten minutes away, the bar is great, cheap snacks, cheap beer and good music if you want that vibe. Car hire is ok, 50 euros a day at the hire shop ten minutes walk away. All in all, a very relaxing stay, entertainment twice during our stay, some of the bars never opened, but we were early in the season. Great views from our sea view room, and the staff were very friendly and welcoming.

I loved the hotel, the room ,the views and the location . The staff is very kind and friendly (except one or two members at the restaurant) . There is a private beach (small one) with free sunbeds and umbrellas ,and two sandy beaches very close to the hotel. The hotel is really beautiful and the gardens are very nice. It was a very nice week. The buffet was good . I had Half board .

We booked B& B directly with the hotel and had a sea view bungalow. Lovely room with a huge balcony, comfortable plush sun beds and parasol, table and 2 chairs. Room split level with window to bathroom on upper level. No blind on this so morning light flooded in, waking earlier than perhaps were used to in holiday!! Breakfast a little disappointing - no individually made omelettes? fruit juices more like cordial and queues at the coffee machine HUGE! Replenishing of crockery and food items a bit haphazard and we got the impression many of the staff needed further training. There appeared to be manager present but didn’t approach guests which we found very strange? I actually approached him on a couple of occasions with suggestions on layout as I was worn out trying to find items which are normally placed adjacent to each other!! Eg milk and milk jugs for us tea drinkers. Good that most were acted upon! Visited a la carte restaurant once, but a little disappointed with quality and price. Beach bar great service though a little expensive. Hotel very clean and well maintained grounds. Pool not heated so didn’t venture in !! Only small beach area so beds were soon full. Staff all friendly and helpful. Lots of tavernas in Lassi and beautiful beaches close by with a 15 minute bus to Argostoli - or 8 euro taxi ride. Walking into Lassi from hotel uses path through the grounds and on the road for latter part. However in darkness we didn’t feel safe to walk back so 4 - 5 euro taxi.

Superb! My husband and I stayed here 16th-26th May 2024 and absolutlely loved it. Fantastic views, location, facilities and staff, and spotlessly clean. Definitely book a sea view room as the views are amazing. Unfortunately we didn't and were unable to upgrade when we got there as the hotel was full. George and the other staff on reception were so helpful and the smiliest member of staff award has to go to the lovely Alexia in the restaurant. We have already booked again for next year, this time with a sea view, and can't wait to return.

Booked a week in May at White Rocks in a seaview bungalow. Views were lovely but bungalow was a long distance from the main hotel & restaurant etc. Pool area and sun decks were lovely. Deck chairs/couches were really comfy. Private beach is beautiful, a bit rocky but sea is clear and calm when we visited. Our son fished from the island opposite the hotel and caught a few. Rooms were clean. Reception staff were great, very attentive, courteous and knowledgeable. Buffet breakfast was excellent. Dinner was Ok but not a lot of traditional Greek food. All staff were helpful and friendly. The Dine-around option we found out by accident, it would be good if it had been explained on arrival. Also no one explained about towels in room as it wasn’t clear where to get them from. The hotel weren’t tight on the beach towels, though and replaced them daily. Ideas for improving hotel: entertainment in evening at least 3 times per week. Serve more Greek food. Use ant powder in the rooms as they are everywhere. What White Rocks does well: friendly, attentive staff, Great fitness room. Yoga was excellent but should be daily or every 2 days, run by Stephanie who is great. Sunbeds, beach, waiter service and Lungomare restaurant are excellent. This is a well-run hotel and I would definitely recommend. Kefalonia is a wonderful island and although White Rocks is a little way out of Lassi (About 10 mins walk), it is definitely worth a visit!

We have just returned from a wonderful week long stay at White Rocks. We stayed in a seaview bungalow, which was fabulous however the bungalow was located some distance from the main hotel with quite a walk to get to the restaurant. These bungalows would not be suitable for anybody with mobility issues as there are slopes and stairs to climb. The room was spotlessly clean, spacious and comfortable and we benefitted from daily maid service. We received bottled water on our arrival in the room but this was never replenished. We would have expected this to be replaced daily for a 4 star hotel. The staff in the hotel, reception and restaurant were all very friendly and approachable. The breakfast choice was fantastic with plenty of variety to suit all tastes. The evening meal again had so many wonderful dishes on offer, with the menu changing each night. The hot food, at times, wasn't particularly hot due to the open nature of the hot plates however it was delicious nonetheless. There was a great choice of deserts on offer and the baklava was out of this world! The pool area was great with plenty of beds and beanbags and very close to the beach bar, which served great food. We opted to use the "dinearound" on a couple of occasions, swapping our evening meal for lunch and we were not disappointed. The pizza was great!The private beach was great with plenty of sunbeds however quite a steep hill back up to the beach bar and pool area. All in all, we had a fantastic stay at White Rocks and have already booked to return next year staying in the hotel.

Great location near to Lassi, very modern fell and spotless clean everywhere. We stayed for 10 days in May and weather was mainly warm. Food was good but breakfast juices were really poor (a fake orange juice and apple juice was pure sugar), to be fair there were a few other options but in small jugs and ran out after 4 glasses. The evening meals were again OK, nothing special, slow service to get drinks, most nights we had eaten our starters before drinks arrived, however the staff were friendly including Alexi and Christopher, others needed to work on their communication skills! There appeared to be a manager walking around most nights, however never spoke, smiled or did anything to address waiting customers! Evenings at the White Rocks are quite, the Lobby bar was only open 2 of our 10 nights and service was very slow, clearly more staff needed, same for the lower bar (was open each evening) but things did improve by the time we were leaving. Average wait for drinks was about 10 mins, large beer 7.40, bottle wine 27, in the town we paid 1/2 so did not represent good value. The pool bar was good again not cheap but the servers were continually looking to serve and friendly. The private beach is small and rocky with a steep sandy path down, the public beaches were better but we paid 30 euro for 2 beds and a parasol so not the cheapest. Overall a nice place with below average service at times but suspect as we were there towards the end of May it was still early in the season, I would like to think by September the place will run like a well oiled machine!

Beautiful hotel in a gorgeous setting. Everywhere incredibly clean and obviously well maintained. The most swift check in experience we have ever had. Staff very friendly and welcoming. Gym good quality equipment with a treadmill, bike, bench and free weights. Food was high quality and plentiful. Best half board restaurant we have ever visited. The only thing that let it down was the poor restaurant service after 8pm. We were told that 7-8pm was the “quiet” time whilst 8pm onwards was “busy”. The truth is you were unlikely to find a clean table after 8:30 and even then it took 10 minutes for the staff to clean and place new cutlery. I cannot blame the staff because for the 7 days we were there we saw the same 4-5 faces at breakfast and dinner. It is clear they are overworked and understaffed. When we visited at 7/7:30pm we never had an issue. We visited at 8:30pm and didn’t get offered a drink and had to ask multiple times for cutlery. All of this said, we would still very much look forward to visiting again in the future.

One of the loveliest hotels we've been to! The food was delicious and plentiful, and of high quality. Staff greeted you and were very friendly and helpful. The location is stunning and the gardens and grounds immaculately kept.....as were the rooms. We hired a car for 4 days and explored the beautiful island. On hindsight we should have paid extra for a sea view or a bungalow. We will definitely return. Thank you to all the staff that made our holiday so memorable 😊
