Good location not too far from town or bus station. My 95 year old mother was able to manage it. Friendly staff throughout, all hard workers. Good value for money. Good choice of food. We would return. Sadly breakfast teapots could do with a clean.

First time at this hotel on a coach trip, found it very good compared to some places we've stayed at, the staff very welcoming and pleasant, room very good, if I had a gripe it was the roast beef on the last night,it wasn't the real stuff, plastic as my wife calls it, otherwise very enjoyable, would recommend.

Small hotel with lovely staff who work hard. Good menu choice and the food was okay. Only thing was the lift wasn’t working on two of our days. All rooms are accessible by stairs. Some guests really struggled with using the stairs. Most of the guests were elderly. Our room was also very small. It was a shame there was nowhere comfortable to relax and it only had tables and chairs to sit at, no sofas. The entertainment was again okay, usual bingo, quiz and singers.

The chance to enjoy the social interaction in the golden years with friendly staff that bring you pleasure. The hotel is clean and bright with good meals and evening entertainment. Bar prices are reasonable and sometimes there are even special offers. The hotel is opposite the train station and near to the bus station so there's a choice between visiting Kendal town and taking the transport to see the amazing countryside on the doorstep. One trip out was offered during our 5 day stay to Grasmere and Keswick, both places interesting with lots of history, architecture and great landscapes

Have just returned from another Daish’s holiday this time to the County Hotel in Kendal. The main reason we like Daish’s is they have great deals and usually great entertainment. We had not been to this hotel before but were not disappointed the staff were very helpful and friendly, the service was good and the entertainment was excellent Henry Pearce who performed as Elvis in his early years was BRILLIANT.

Lovely hotel. Manager and collegues very pleasant and helpful. The first floor room 116 was warm and the bedding and pillows were superb .We requested a bath if possible and our room had one. Thank you! Close to bus services to Ambleside, Windermere, Keswick, etc. You can use your Senior Bus Pass if you have one on the number 555 and Stagecoach. The only thing that lets the hotel down is that the service in the dining room is very hit and miss. Either very good or very bad. Suspect our allocation of table 24 is not a good place to sit! The food itself is of good quality, however as a tip don't order kippers for breakfast (very long wait) or porridge unless you like it cold. All in all a good holiday. Daish's is extremely good value. Have another holiday with them booked for next month. P.S. Special mention for the talented Henry AKA Elvis!

We went on a Daish’s coach holiday to Kendal and stayed at the County Hotel. The hotel was situated in a good position within Kendal (only a 10 minute walk to Kendal town centre). The hotel was well decorated and looked in a very tidy condition and the staff were incredibly helpful and friendly. Although the meals provided in our package were a little basic, the food was well cooked and tasted great. There was a reasonable choice on each days menu too. Entertainment was a little less than anticipated, but that was largely due to illness and where last minute stand ins were sourced. ‘Elvis’ was on the first night and although this was the deputy manager of the hotel, he put on a good act, particularly in his second set when he was more relaxed with his guitar. Our room was clean, tidy, warm and well appointed. The walk in shower cubicle was a very good size too. Overall, I would give this hotel an 8.5 out of 10 and would definitely go there again, as it’s a wonderful alternative to a coastal break (as all other Danish hotels are). I do hope Daish’s keeps this hotel in their portfolio.

We've had many holidays with Daishs but this was one of the best by far. The County is a small customer friendly hotel, very well appointed & run by very efficient & helpful staff. It is ideally situated for the train & bus stations & the hourly 555 bus will take you from Keswick to Lancaster & all stops in between. We went to Grasmere, Ambleside, Bowness & a 'cruise' from Bowness pier to Ambleside pier. Many thanks to all at the Daish's County Hotel, we had a great time, we will be back!

Booked late so bagged a very reasonable 4 nite break at Daish's County Hotel which is conveniently situated in Kendal. My room was warm and comfortable & had a modern ensuite with a great walk in shower & plenty of hot water. The food was delicious and the staff very friendly and accommodating. Kendal is well served by public transport so it was easy to get around. An excellent break and I would recommend & hope to go again!
