"Can you honestly rent out a pigsty like this? The accommodation was neglected, there were insects in the kitchen, and black mold in the bathroom and on the shower curtain. And when I asked for a heater or at least an extra blanket because it was horribly cold and damp in the room at the beginning of winter, I was told to just close the window? What a horror, avoid at all costs!"

"This was my first time staying here and honestly, it was a disaster. The fire alarm went off three times — twice in the evening and again at 2 AM, all false alarms. The 2 AM one woke up the entire hotel, and we all had to evacuate. I took the stairs down, but when I tried to go back up, I got locked in the stairwell with no staff in sight. I had to wait for someone to let me back in, and then another 15 minutes just to get into the lift because everyone was trying to return to their rooms. It took almost 40 minutes just to get back to my room. I couldn’t sleep after that, and I had an interview in the morning — which was the whole reason I booked this hotel. No one from the hotel staff ever came to explain or apologize. There wasn’t even a single staff member in the lobby — only the firefighters. Absolutely unacceptable."

"Location is fantastic! Train station just in front of the apartment. Spacious, shops and restaurant just 3-5min walk. A bit expensive for 3Nights stay but reasonable during holiday season. Overall we enjoyed our stay in Kula Crows Nest. We're happy to stay here again."

"Can’t fault the room - spacious, plenty of tea/coffee and milk! Yay! Cold glasses in the fridge, welcome drink to the value of $10, 10% off food in the pub downstairs. Modern room with usb ports beside the bed, iron/ironing board in the room with hairdryer. Air conditioner worked very well. Very comfortable and enjoyable. Very strict on check-in/check-out times as a room card is required for outside door access outside of pub hours. The staff are very short with you if you need access without a key."

"The location and ambience were good; however, the cleanliness inside the cabin was poor. We found mould on the bed, and the floor was not properly cleaned."
Mercure Sydney Macquarie Park
"The hotel lobby is newly renovated, but once you get to the room hallway and the room itself, there's an old, musty carpet smell. The facilities are dated. There's a backyard, and parking costs $16 a day. It's right next to Macquarie University Hospital, so quite a few elderly guests stay here. It's not far from the shopping centre."
