The hotel is full of character but the lack of staff made the hotel feel more like boarding rooms than a hotel. Between check-in and check-out I only saw two other guests, no staff at all. Overnight I felt like I was the only person in the building as everything was dark. The breakfast was fairly basic with coffee in jugs, yoghurt, cheeses and meats, and bread for toast although there was no butter. Having said that the two members of staff that I did meet during check-in and check-out were friendly and polite. The hotel doesn't accept Amex so I had to pay by debit card.
