La Vista Kusatsu Hills

On this trip, I chose this hotel based on a friend’s recommendation. The price was very reasonable. Not including two meals, it cost $2xxx. It’s actually quite expensive. The location of the hotel is not near Yubata. Although the hotel is connected by bus, the bus schedule is not very frequent and the last bus is very early. But since we are traveling by car, we are not worried about the inconvenience. On the contrary, there are several large parking lots for convenient parking. The staff at the door introduced the hotel facilities very attentively. It didn't matter whether you had ordered food or two. Different free food and drinks were provided at different times. There are large baths for men and women, and several private baths that are first come, first served. However, the room you booked actually has a private bath, so there are actually many choices and a high level of privacy. The rooms are just like those in hotels, nothing special, they are divided into toilets, shower rooms, open-air baths connected to the terrace and bedrooms. The bedrooms are considered to be more detailed in hot spring hotels. The overall feeling is good, but the price should be more reasonable.

The room is of medium size, and the outdoor private bath is very comfortable. It snowed heavily on the day we went, and the room can see the snow scene. The ski resort and hot spring street are just a 10-minute walk away. The hotel also has free bus transportation. The 6th floor provides free meals and drinks according to time periods, as well as free private baths, offering four different forms and two different springs.

The room is nice and well-equipped with all the equipment for hot spring bathing. There is also a private bath for you to enjoy. The hotel provides free ramen, beer, sausages, ice cream, and drinks. It is very thoughtful and the breakfast and dinner are delicious.

The hotel is very good and has a lot of self-service snacks. It's just that the hot water in the room is too small. Everything else is fine. The hotel has a shuttle service, and I accidentally discovered that the hotel has a shuttle bus to Karuizawa. After consulting the shuttle driver, it turned out that we had to make a reservation with the hotel, but we couldn't see this kind of information on Ctrip, so we didn't make a reservation in advance, otherwise we could save a lot of bus fare.

Personally, I was very satisfied, and I intend to visit again. The location is located on top of a hill southeast of Kusatsu Onsen. The location is not good to walk to Yubitake or other sightseeing spots, but there is a shuttle bus operating every hour. This is a typical hotel style ryokan. I booked a deluxe twin room, but I don't know how different it is from a Hollywood twin room with the same size and same price. It is a large hotel with over 100 rooms, but the way the staff memorize each guest and provide service is impressive. The staff I saw at the front desk were in the lounge and also in the restaurant, which was impressive. However, not many staff can communicate in English. Dinner is Western-style and breakfast is served buffet-style. Dinner wasn't bad, and breakfast is a buffet, but the downside is that it's a style that doesn't have refills. When that menu drops, it simply removes it. You must go early to eat. In addition to half board dinner and breakfast, we continue to serve other food in the lounge every 2-3 hours. Upon check-in, the lounge serves ice cream, followed by beer, sausage and carrot soup before meals. Hot chocolate and tea are served after meals, and ramen is served in the lounge between 10:00 and 11:00 in the evening. They offered two types of ramen and tomato ramen. Beer was unlimited from check-in until 11pm. In the case of hot springs, you can proceed in a total of 3 locations. Each room has a bathtub for one person, so you can take a bath alone in your room, take a bath with others in the large public bath on the 6th floor, or take a bath in 4 different private bathrooms on the 6th floor. There is also a shower in the room, so light washing can be done in the room as well. Personally, the private bathtub is memorable. There are 4 different concepts: a standard square bathroom, a bathroom using stones to create a natural feel, an oval-shaped wooden bathtub that might have been in the past, and a bathtub that reminds us of childhood. It was also nice that the private bathtub in the room could be adjusted to the desired temperature using cold water. When checking out in the morning, a shuttle bus drops you off at Kusatsu Onsen Terminal every 30 minutes. Personally, I was satisfied with the price, so I think I will stay again when I visit Kusatsu Onsen again.
