Better than expected. Food was good. Service was excellent, every single person was very nice and helpful. Location perfect for quiet relaxation. Rooms vere excellent and very good cleaning. Free kayaking. Whole hotel area was picture perfect and many places to chill and sunbathe. If you have to think of something negative it was that my tummy did not like the food a few times (=diarrhea episode), but what we discussed with other travelers, it happens in every hotel….

First of all, the staff at promised land lodge are exceptionally friendly and helpful, we were asked every day of our 5 day stay if we would like our room cleaned. There is a decent selection of food available on the menu, including options for vegetarians. The location is on the sea front which is stunning, however, with the tide coming in and out, there is no beach as such. You can walk over the rock pools when the tide is out but sandals should be worn as there are sea urchins and other spiky sea creatures in the pools. You can book dolphin tours at the lodge and be picked up from the jetty there which is ideal. The accommodation was ‘rustic’ and simple, there was no kettle or aircon in the room and the power would often cut out. It is a nice place to stay if you enjoy relaxing, but there is not much else to do other than that. We walked about 1.5 miles into the closest ‘village’, however there is not much to see or do there. There are a couple of restaurants on the path leading to promised land lodge. Overall, our stay was not ‘luxury’ but satisfying, although general cleanliness of the surrounding area was not great. It

The hotel has a great seafront location with fabulous views and a really cool Rasta-inspired bar area. The sand around the bar and sitting area is kept incredibly clean. There are plenty of hammocks, sun beds and nice sofa areas to lounge around, and in the evening a lovely bon fire is lit by the bar. The bar is charming but with limited selection. The pool is ok but not as clean as in the photos. There are some lovely looking beach front chalets on the property - we had a family room towards the back of the property that was clean but rather stuffy. No air condition. Internet however was excellent. The property is beach front, but the beach is not really made for walking - in fact there are not many places to move about. The restaurant has a limited menu, but some good dishes. We loved the fish curry. I would recommend this place for couples who want to relax and are happy to chill, but not if you are expecting to move around. We also felt that the price we got really was poor value for money compared to other places we stayed.

If you’re looking for a beautiful place to relax then this is perfect. Only down side was no kettle in room, low water pressure & no hot water in shower.Intermittent power means that room fan doesn’t always work and room can get very warm. Lots of construction going on. Staff were exceptional. Food basic but more than adequate. Best were the prawns and fish curry.

Absolutely love this place. It has that real authentic feel of zanzibar that not too many places on the island have anymore. We stayed in the bunglow overlooking the ocean. The location of this bungalow allowed for a lot of privacy and of course amazing views. Sitting on our terrace, cocktail in hand watching the sunset was perfect. There are so many places around the bar for people to chill, activities like volleyball, badminton, play park and kayaking to keep the kids busy. The place is very well maintained and the staff very welcoming and professional. Thank u for a wonderful stay.

they charge me 2 times the same money.they say refund ,but at the moment they postpone it every day.is quite 1 week im waiting nd they didint provide. I leave this review with the reserve of modifying it or canceling it in case they really fix their mistake.but anyway,this is not correct

Promised Land is a truly amazing place if you need a beautiful spot to relax, chill and regain energy. Huts are clean and spacious with comfortable beds, food is really good and everybody at the lodge are very friendly. This was our third time at Promised Land - and we can’t wait to return!

This was by far the best accommodation we stayed at! 10/10 across the board. beautiful setting, great pool, comfortable accommodation, stunning views, lots of chill out areas, dogs and cats, great food, amazing staff, evening entertainment, etc etc etc Cannot wait to come back!!!

This place lives up to its name. As soon as you walk in you are checked in by the staff and then have a wonderful time. Peter the barman is such a great character and makes great cocktails. The food in the restaurant is great, I would highly recommend the pasta and the curry.
