"Super convenient, whether you're heading to the airport or the city center, it's just a three-minute walk to the S-Bahn. Amazingly, there are three decent-sized supermarkets within 100 meters. For food, Arabian BBQ is the main option (and it's delicious), but there's also an Asian buffet nearby that's around €20 for lunch and €30 for dinner. If you're into fitness, TRU Fitness is close by, and a day pass is only €10, which is a great deal. The hotel doesn't have a water dispenser, and you only get one large complimentary bottle of water, but the front desk said the tap water is drinkable. Conclusion: I'd definitely stay here again next time I'm in Hamburg."
"The very friendly service at the reception and the very clean rooms deserve special mention. The location is also good, and the internet connection is even first-class. However, the family room (double bed and bunk bed) lacks a place to store suitcases. Unfortunately, the TV cannot be connected to the internet. Otherwise, as mentioned, we were very satisfied."
"As a young female who travels solo, I felt very safe staying here. The reception staff were very pleasant and helpful and the location is great. Easy access to the S and U bahn (approx a 10 min walk) which will take you into the city centre. The room was clean and spacious. Beds were also really comfortable.
I will recommend this to my friends/family when they visit Hamburg."
"Location: Bus stop in front of the hotel. You can reach the central station in half an hour.
The hotel is quite clean, though the hotel itself is a bit old. The design of the bedside lamp is very uncomfortable. It’s not on the side but at the back of the bed. You may hurt your head or back if you want to leaning.
We don’t have the time to enjoy the sauna or fitness so nothing to share about this."
"The location is fantastic in my opinion! There are good connections to the subway and commuter rail, and the bus stop is just around the corner. Buses run every 20 minutes. The food at the hotel is good for the price.
The reception staff is very friendly.
The room was clean, except for the dusty windowsill, hence only 4 stars for cleanliness.
I can't comment on breakfast, as we didn't have it.
Otherwise, we are very satisfied with the hotel. So, for the price, it's excellent!"
"We were there for the fourth time. And the last time. The service has deteriorated with each stay. Just like the breakfast. Unfortunately, the hotel has become more expensive.
The rooms are still very clean and modern.
You have to expect noise from the subway and S-Bahn at night. We always accepted that because the service and breakfast used to be so great.
Not anymore.
At reception I had the feeling I was disturbing them. And they offer that if you don't have your towels changed you should get a surprise. We are still waiting for the surprise......"
"I had a pleasant stay at this hotel. The location was excellent, with a metro station just a short walk away, making it very convenient to get around the city. The hotel was clean and well-maintained throughout my stay.
The only downside was that there was no refrigerator in the room, which would have been a useful addition. However, the staff were very friendly, welcoming, and always willing to help, which made the overall experience more enjoyable.
Overall, I would recommend this hotel for its great location, cleanliness, and helpful staff."
"Good neighbourhood, plenty of shops and food. easy connection to city centre. Feel safe when walking alone at early morning to catch the train to airport. Parking at shopping mall, with PCard only €3 per day. no problem assess the car at night or drive out the carpark at Sunday."
"the hotel is nice, simple, and very clean. they give you table and chair so you can work from your bedroom. there is also mini bar and they provide a microwave, it's really help when you craving for something in the night and dont want to go outside :)"
"This is not bad, the location is very good, just 10 minutes walk from the central station, on the main street, there are many supermarket bars nearby , the price is not expensive, the chain brand hotel, the room is slightly smaller, there is a place to hang clothes and wash clothes to dry clothes in the corner, it is worthy of praise! AAnonymous UserMy stay at the Crowne Plaza Hamburg - City Alster was absolutely superb. From the moment I arrived, the elegant and professional atmosphere was noticeable.
The room was spacious and beautifully appointed, with a incredibly comfortable bed and a fantastic view. The location is also ideal for both enjoying the beautiful Alster lake and accessing the city center.
It’s the attentive service and premium amenities that set this hotel apart. I felt thoroughly pampered and would not hesitate to return for another luxurious stay.
GGuest UserI had a really pleasant stay at this hotel. The property is beautiful, very clean, and overall feels well maintained. The atmosphere is welcoming and comfortable. I especially liked that coffee and drinks are available anytime, which is a really nice touch. The breakfast was also great, and the pancake machine was such a cute and fun addition. I would also like to give a special thank you to Adrian at the front desk (I hope I spelled his name correctly). He was absolutely fantastic, very kind, professional, and genuinely caring. He communicated clearly and handled everything very well. I even noticed he was training other colleagues, and it was obvious that he understands the business and customer service extremely well. He really made a positive difference during my stay.
There was unfortunately one issue with housekeeping during my stay. I had stayed one day, liked it so much stayed 4 more days. On my first day, on several occasions a cleaner entered or attempted to enter my room early in the morning even though check-out was at 12:00. On my first day they knocked at 11am/12/12.30 and actually came in at 12pm, although I had paid for late check out (which by the way is an amazing option to have), while I was still naked in bed. One cleaner in particular — an older woman with short burgundy/brown hair — was quite abrupt. She repeatedly gestured for me to leave quickly. At one point she pointed at her wrist as if indicating a watch and used hand gestures to signal that I should hurry and leave, even though I still had time before check-out. It felt quite uncomfortable, especially as housekeeping knocked once and then opened the door quickly on a couple of occasions. On my last day, someone actually came in at 10AM in the morning. I just do not understand. I know it is a big hotel, I know they have to get a lot of rooms done in a short amount of time. I just do not understand the aggression of demanding a guest to leave so they can clean.
Thankfully, Adrian at the front desk was extremely helpful when I explained the situation. He took my concern seriously and helped communicate with the housekeeping team so it wouldn’t continue. Adrian really saved my stay!
AAnonymous UserGreat stay — second time and still amazing
I had another wonderful stay at the Hampton by Hilton in Hamburg — this was actually my second time here. The first time I stayed with my mother, and this time with my fiancée, and both experiences have been consistently great.
The service is excellent. The staff are always smiling, very kind, and extremely polite, which really makes you feel welcome from the moment you arrive. Everything about the hotel feels lovely and well taken care of.
The gym is nice and well-equipped, perfect if you want to keep up your routine while traveling. Breakfast is amazing — plenty of options and everything fresh and tasty, definitely one of the highlights of the stay.
The location is also fantastic. It’s close to public transport (there’s a tram stop nearby), making it easy to get around the city. There’s also a great falafel/döner spot close by if you’re looking for a late-night snack, which was a fun bonus. Plus, it’s very close to Westfield, where you can enjoy the scenery and find lots of nice restaurants and shops.
Overall, an amazing stay once again. Thank you to the whole team — I’ll definitely be back.
GGuest UserAfter a slight initial confusion during check-in – I'd never booked through a system like this before – I was genuinely thrilled with the quality of the rooms! Super comfortable beds, a fantastic accessible bathroom, and modern room design. We were extremely satisfied and will definitely become regular guests at Sleep Hotels and recommend them to others!
GGuest UserA great hotel for a few days. The staff was very friendly and helpful and breakfast was really good. Most of the fresh fruit salad convinced me. The flat is quite narrow, and the fact that you come into the parking house only after check-in was not directly visible. But in all, it is absolutely recommended to continue
AAnonymous UserThe bathroom is even smaller than an airplane lavatory, making it difficult to turn around. It's a metal bunk bed, so if anyone moves on the top bunk, it shakes. There's a coffee shop downstairs, and it's quite noisy at night because it's close to the road. I recommend bringing earplugs. It's very close to both the train and bus stations. It's probably best not to go out at night. The internet didn't work; I'm not sure if it was their issue or mine. The common area is quite spacious though.
GGuest UserNice hotel in the middle of the city, right next to the central station. Clean and fresh, and the breakfast was very good. We enjoyed our 2-night stay here and i wouldn’t mind staying here when visitibg Hamburg again.
Worth knowing, the hotel has 2 small elevators, one of which was closed for repairs causing long waiting times(especially around breakfast times) if you cant use the stairs for some reason.
SSHAHIR91Very near to central train station (walkable), check in from 15:00 but you can store your luggage in the meantime, ask the key from reception and go tour the city. Guest can cook, have kitchen with utensils. Every room have 3 bunk beds , have personal toilet in room with shower and hair dryer. Overall it was excellent stay for budget traveller
BbceeeeeeewThe location is on the Reeperbahn which is very convenient. It is in walking distance to the subways and there are plenty of things to see and do in the area.
The room we were in had a window facing a strip club and there is absolutely no sound proofing. Though they do provide earplugs, it does very little to relive you of the deep base shaking your bed.
We had noisy neighbours.
There was no plug in the sink so if your fiend is asleep and you try wash your face the loud drain sounds will wake them up. Overall, it was alright but I won't go here again.
