Hôtel Montcalm Paris

Amazing

Excellent hotel! I found it completely by chance, but it turned out to be the best choice I could have made. The value for money is perfect — everything is at a very high level. The room was clean, neat, and cozy, and the bathroom was spacious and spotless. A special highlight was the beautiful balcony with a lovely view over the city. The staff were very friendly, and the room service was truly excellent — fast, polite, and efficient. The location is perfect: there are plenty of cafés, bakeries, restaurants, and shops nearby, the metro is just a couple of steps away, and you can even walk to the Eiffel Tower. I am extremely satisfied with my stay and would like to express my sincere gratitude to the team at Hôtel Montcalm Paris for their outstanding service. Highly recommended — I will definitely come back again!

This hotel is part of the Palais des Congrès de Paris complex, and it's one of the few high-rise buildings in the city. From my 8th-floor room facing south, I could see both the Eiffel Tower and the Arc de Triomphe. Getting to the metro is super convenient; you can walk directly through the convention center, which is a huge plus in often rainy Paris. The breakfast was incredibly rich, offering rice, omelets, stir-fried vegetables, and over five kinds of fruit, plus hazelnut chocolate. The room was quite spacious by Parisian standards. Just a heads-up, Montmartre Hill, as shown in some photos, isn't actually visible – I had to stick my phone out the window to capture it. Now, a special warning about the taxis right outside the hotel. They are dishonest, so be careful. Taxis from Charles de Gaulle Airport to central Paris have a fixed zone-based fare: 65 euros for the Left Bank and 56 euros for the Right Bank. If you order a taxi via an app or phone, there's an additional 4-euro booking fee. We took a taxi from the hotel, which is on the Right Bank. The concierge confirmed the fixed fare would be 56 euros. However, after hailing a taxi right outside, the driver tried to charge us 65 euros (the Left Bank rate) plus a 4-euro booking fee upon arrival at the airport. After a lengthy argument, and even calling the hotel, the driver finally charged 56 euros plus the 4-euro booking fee. So, even after arguing, we still ended up paying the extra booking fee. as a solo female traveller, I really enjoyed my stay here! the room was really clean and lovely, with a nice balcony in true parisian fashion :) hotel was very clean and put together, staff were friendly! location was also near to quite a few metro stations so getting around was not an issue at all - all within abt 10-15 mins walk from the hotel. the room is indeed a bit small as the other reviews mentioned, but no issues if you're solo travelling !!

The hotel is very close to Paris Gare de Lyon, just over 300 meters away, making it super convenient for high-speed rail travel. The room was clean, and there were complimentary fruits, snacks, and other small refreshments next to the front desk on the ground floor. The downside is that the room is a bit too small.

The room was very well-equipped, with cooking utensils provided, and the dishwasher was a big plus; however, the air conditioning and heating systems kept turning off automatically, and the heater wouldn't turn on. After we reported this, the hotel provided breakfast for us one day because the repairs didn't take place until after check-out! Very nice! 👍🏻

I stayed for 7 days. The location is excellent, and I felt at ease knowing that English was spoken.✨ **Location:** It's within walking distance of the Arc de Triomphe and Avenue des Champs-Élysées, meaning there are tons of train and bus lines available! You can even get to the Eiffel Tower and Disneyland without any transfers. Access to Charles de Gaulle Airport is also good, taking about 50 minutes by train or 35 minutes by car. I also went to Orly Airport for one night to visit Nice. You can get to the airport line (CDG, ORLY) with just one transfer, so the location is truly fantastic. **Amenities:** Water and potato chips were provided daily. Tea and a kettle were also available, which was a nice touch. There are no toothbrushes, pajamas, or slippers. I brought my own slippers to use in the room. I never quite figured out why some days there were no chips or water (lol). **Cleanliness:** Bed making was done meticulously every day. It seems towels are only replaced if left on the floor; they weren't replaced on days I left them on the shelf.

The location is excellent, the surroundings are safe, and it's very convenient. On my second day, I got conjunctivitis, and there was an ophthalmology clinic nearby. The room was small, but that's understandable given how expensive space is in Paris. The sparkling water machine in the common area was a nice touch. However, the shower water was not hot in the middle of the night! We just took quick showers, no hair washing, and the water was cold! I was in the shower for less than three minutes before it turned completely cold! I couldn't even turn on the AC to warm up, and I was shivering. I requested an extra blanket at 11 PM, but it wasn't delivered by midnight. I had to call again to get it. I'll probably choose the 15th arrondissement again in the future, but most likely not this hotel.

The room was incredibly spacious and comfortable, and the location couldn't be better – right across from the North Station, with a metro entrance just outside. It was literally a two-to-three-minute walk from the Eurostar platform. The staff were diligent, responsible, and friendly. One time, I needed to print something at midnight, and Harold on duty immediately helped me out – a big thanks to him! The only downside to the hotel is the poor soundproofing. My room was next to a large room that could sleep five people. Luckily, out of my seven-night stay, there were only two nights when someone was next door: once it was a family with two crying children, and another time it was a group of young people…

The hotel's location is excellent: close to the metro, McDonald's, and a grocery store are very close, and all the city center attractions are within walking distance. The staff is helpful and polite. The hotel is in good condition, with a working elevator and plenty of TV channels. The room is small, like all Paris hotels. The most important thing in winter is that the hotel is very warm! The bathroom had a window :) Cons: - No kettle in the room - Safe doesn't work - Very small shower stall (barely fits a 90+ kg person)
