"Pros: Great location, right next to UCL, a five-minute walk from Euston Station, and about a ten-minute walk from King's Cross Station. You can get there by bus, just get off at Russell Square. The British Museum is also within walking distance. There are many restaurants and convenience stores around the hotel, which is very convenient.
Cons: The facilities are old, and small rooms are common in London, so I won't dwell on that. The sink is incredibly small, only about 30 cm wide, which feels very cramped. My biggest complaint is that the window is as thin as paper; I've never seen such thin windows in the UK. It offers absolutely no sound insulation, and the street noise outside is enormous. The walls are also thin; you can clearly hear even the slightest movement from next door. No wonder the hotel doesn't provide any other disposable items, only two pairs of earplugs."
"It offers an excellent location near British Museum, with many major attractions, shops, and restaurants within easy walking distance. The room was clean, comfortable, and well maintained, although slightly compact. Staff were friendly, professional, and helpful throughout my stay. Breakfast offered a good selection, and the hotel felt quiet despite its central location. Overall, it is a convenient and reliable choice for both sightseeing and business trips in London."
"I chose this hotel primarily for its convenient location, being close to King's Cross and Euston train stations. An Uber ride costs around £11-12. There are also two tube stations nearby, making it easy to get around. Plus, you can walk to Regent's Park, the British Museum, and Oxford Street. There are restaurants, coffee shops, and supermarkets within a short distance. The room itself was on the smaller side, but that's typical for London at this price point. The cleanliness was satisfactory."
"My stay at The Mandrake was absolutely unforgettable. From the moment I walked in, I was blown away by the hotel’s unique atmosphere, stunning interiors, and artistic design. Every corner feels thoughtfully curated, creating a luxurious yet intimate experience.
The staff were warm, welcoming, and attentive throughout my stay, making me feel genuinely looked after. The room was beautifully designed, spotlessly clean, and incredibly comfortable. The location is also fantastic—just a short walk from Oxford Street while still feeling like a hidden oasis away from the city’s hustle and bustle.
If you’re looking for a boutique hotel that’s stylish, unique, and unlike anywhere else in London, I can’t recommend The Mandrake enough. I would happily stay here again."
"We booked a family room, which was on the top floor and quite hot, but luckily they provided a fan. The breakfast selection was decent, though there were no hot dishes – only toast and hot drinks. Also, there's no parking available."
"The location was convenient for getting around. While it's close to the station, it's not right in front of it, so it might be a bit challenging if you're lugging a big suitcase. You could tell the building was a bit old from the creaky floors, but the room itself was clean and the air conditioning worked well, making for a comfortable stay. The breakfast buffet had the same menu every day, but the food was delicious."
"Location: Next to Russell Square, very close to the British Museum and Euston Station. It's about a 20-minute walk to Chinatown, which is quite convenient.
I booked a double room on Trip.com, and to my surprise, I was given a room on the seventh floor. Then I was told there was a dedicated elevator for the seventh floor, which immediately raised a red flag. When I took the elevator, I realized it was an added-on lift, and you had to manually open the door at the top. The seventh floor is an extension the hotel built, as you can see in photo 2. London in August was very hot, and the room was incredibly stuffy, with only a small fan provided. Since it was peak tourist season in London during the summer, I paid over 900 yuan, and breakfast wasn't included. The room's facilities were quite old, and I found a lot of black hairs and dirt on the duvet cover. I had to call staff to change it. If possible, try to avoid rooms on the seventh floor.
I don't know what the rooms on other floors are like, but if the price is over 1000 yuan, I wouldn't recommend this hotel. The hotel offers free luggage storage."
"We stayed at this hotel for 2 concerts 1)the weeknd 2) Ariana Grande, it was the perfect location central to both Wembley and the O2. Tube was right at the door and plenty of shops near by, staff were amazing!! Check in process effort less and great for early check in possibility… I have 2 flaws but nothing that is major to not book. The bathroom door needed a lock and maybe an extra pillow. As I said nothing massive just personal comments. Would definitely recommend it for anyone wanting to be connected to central London!"
"Very unique design! The room was relatively spacious although some parts were a little old. However, it has a great price point for the location and service. Would stay again!"

Great
BBertBenThis hotel is pretty good for the price. The room size was just right, and the staff were very friendly. We arrived around 11 AM, and they allowed us to check in early, which was great. The breakfast had a lot of choices and is worth trying.
The only two downsides are: if you walk from Whitechapel, that area feels a bit messy and smells quite strong. Also, the kitchen is really small, but it seems like most Aparthotels in Europe are like that.
EEhime OmokhodionI recently stayed at Novotel London Canary Wharf and it was one of the most enjoyable hotel experiences I’ve had in London. From the moment I checked in, the atmosphere felt modern, welcoming, and effortlessly comfortable.
The highlight of the stay was definitely the view from my room. Waking up to the Canary Wharf skyline and watching the city lights come alive at night was incredible. The floor-to-ceiling windows made the entire room feel bright and spacious, and the panoramic cityscape gave the stay a real luxury feel.
Another standout experience was visiting Bōkan, the hotel’s restaurant and rooftop bar. The views from up there are absolutely breathtaking , you get a stunning panoramic perspective of the whole of London, from Canary Wharf to landmarks across the city skyline. Whether during sunset or later in the evening, the atmosphere is unforgettable. The combination of great food, drinks, and those sweeping views made it one of the best parts of the trip.
The hotel amenities were also excellent. The pool was clean and relaxing, perfect after a long day exploring or working in the city. The gym was well-equipped with everything needed for a proper workout, and the sauna added an extra touch of relaxation that really elevated the overall experience.
Overall, Novotel London Canary Wharf delivers the perfect mix of comfort, modern luxury, amazing facilities, and spectacular London views. I’d happily stay there again and would highly recommend it to anyone looking for a memorable stay in Canary Wharf.
KKL@@Great place to stay very local to tube. All the staff were very polite, friendly, attentive and kind as well as maintaining professionalism. Breakfast had a good selection, however I like the light option but one can clearly enjoy whatever they wish. I slept very well. The rooms were spacious with Aircon and as a bonus I couldn’t hear anyone from other rooms. I would definitely recommend ROCKWELL to others and I would stay here again. Thank you for my stay!
WWangwangjinshuiFantastic location! Plus, the room was a spacious suite. Even though the lighting wasn't the best, it did have two small windows. The welcome fruit was a nice touch, and there was even a bottle of red wine – definitely felt like a special occasion. And the breakfast was delicious too. Worth it!
GGuest UserThis was the first hotel for our family's UK trip. After much deliberation, we chose this Holiday Inn Express which is quite close to the city center. The location is excellent, with easy access to the subway, buses, and trains. The hotel maintained the consistent quality of the Holiday Inn brand. We were also lucky enough to snag a group deal that included parking and some meals. A special thank you goes to Christina, a kind and patient lady who speaks Chinese. Due to the high demand for rooms on the weekend and our first-time use of a Ctrip hotel group coupon, the check-in process was a bit convoluted, but the final outcome was very satisfying. Our family left London happily to begin the next leg of our journey. BTW, we encountered many odd Indian guests; whether it was in the cramped elevator or at the popular breakfast buffet, they all exuded a strange confidence, as if they owned the place. I wonder who gave them that idea 🤔🤔🤔
AAnonymous UserThe hotel service was excellent. The concierge offered complimentary luggage storage, and our room was cleaned daily with fresh towels and amenities provided. The room itself was fully equipped with everything we needed. This year, the UK has experienced unusually hot weather, so having air conditioning indoors was a huge plus. The transportation is very convenient, as it's only about 300 meters from Shepherd's Bush, and the Westfield shopping center nearby makes shopping super easy. I'd definitely choose this hotel again for my next visit.
BBoYanboThis is a 'decent' hotel. Yes, that's the word. The facilities aren't brand new, but the mattress in the room is still comfortable, the towels are still soft, the toilet paper is still thick, and the hygiene standards are consistently good. The breakfast is a classic English breakfast, meeting the expected standards for a four-star hotel. The location is excellent, situated in a wealthy area of London with very convenient transportation; the subway station is right next door. And the price, especially during the off-season, offers fantastic value for money. Backed by the Millennium Hotels Group and Singaporean capital, it's surprisingly good – the hotel's own restaurant serves authentic wonton noodles and Hainanese chicken rice! Plus, guests get discount coupons! If I had to summarize in one sentence, I'd say this is a well-managed, old-fashioned but not outdated hotel.
AAnonymous UserPros:
1. Great location with convenient transportation, close to all major attractions.
2. Well-developed surrounding commercial facilities, making it easy to purchase daily necessities.
3. Rooms are cleaned daily and include a safe.
Cons:
1. The building is old and the space is cramped.
2. No air conditioning and poor ventilation. Not recommended during hot summer periods.
3. Street-facing rooms are noisy, with frequent sounds of cars and motorcycles revving their engines.
AAnil ShewakramA memorable hotel stay seamlessly blends comfort, exceptional service, and local charm. The experience begins with a warm, efficient welcome that immediately washes away travel fatigue. Inside the room, pristine cleanliness and thoughtful design create a personal sanctuary, featuring a plush bed and modern amenities. Delightful surprises, like a stunning window view or complimentary local treats, elevate the atmosphere. Exceptional hospitality shines through attentive staff who anticipate needs without intruding. Dining experiences, from a vibrant breakfast buffet to artisan coffee, celebrate regional flavours. Ultimately, a perfect stay transforms a simple lodging choice into a relaxing, unforgettable highlight of the journey.
GGuest UserEven though it's far from central London, it's about a 15-minute walk to the tube station, and there's a bus stop right outside with frequent services. The hotel is basic, but for the price, it's excellent value for money. I would definitely stay here again. Breakfast is an extra £5.99, and it's absolutely worth it compared to prices in the area. The room was small but functional, with a new bathroom. The only minor issue was that when we arrived at Britannia Inn, they directed us to another hotel (Park Hotel) from the same group, about 500m away.
