"The hotel is very close to Gotanda Station, about a 5-minute walk from the station to the hotel. Although it's close to Haneda Airport, you have to transfer, which I imagine would be quite tiring if you're carrying luggage. For shopping and dining, the Yamanote Line is very convenient. You could also take a taxi to the airport, it's not too expensive. Across the street from the hotel is ***, which I stumbled upon on my way to Don Quijote. There are plenty of places to eat nearby; you don't need to specifically seek them out. I didn't book the hotel breakfast because I heard it was just so-so, so I went to a nearby Saison bakery instead, which was pretty good. However, the sealant around the bathroom sink was almost completely peeled off, and it seems the hotel doesn't check these things before guests check in. Also, the ventilation fan was weak, leaving a lot of steam after a shower, so I went to the large public bath on the top floor the next day. I requested a room away from the station, which I think I got, but I could still hear noise. It seems sleeping in a room on the station side at night would be impossible. The soundproofing isn't great either; I could clearly hear conversations from outside. The room rate was very appealing. But I wouldn't recommend it; I still prefer Hamamatsucho!"

"While the location isn't as convenient as Shinagawa or Tokyo Station, requiring a transfer, it's still quite accessible since the hotel is right inside the station. You don't need to walk far or take a taxi to get there. For service, many 3-4 star express hotels in Japan now use self check-in. The front desk has staff to guide you through the process, and there's even Chinese-speaking service available, which is quite patient. Overall, the service felt pretty good. The surrounding area is lively, with many snack shops, karaoke places, and a Tokyu Store. It's great for a stroll after dinner to pick up some daily necessities, groceries, or cosmetics. However, Japanese department stores close early, with many potentially shutting down after 9 PM. Of course, snack shops and similar places stay open much later. The room itself is very small. If you lay a 26-inch suitcase flat in the aisle, there's no space to move around. But it wins on convenience and complete, new facilities. Even though it's right next to the station, there's very little noise at night, and the bed is comfortable, which is a big plus. Breakfast is served on the third floor, where check-in is located, in a small restaurant. You can choose a very simple breakfast set. Don't set your expectations too high. In summary, it's perfect for travelers or businesspeople who are just staying for one night, don't particularly care about room size or views, and need convenient access to amenities for shopping and dining."

"Definitely a five-star review! While Japanese hotels might be on the smaller side, they're always incredibly well-designed and refined. This particular hotel is super close to the JR subway station, which is really convenient. For longer stays, they clean the room every four days."

"Very convenient location. 5 mins walk to Shinagawa station. Direct Narita Express to airport and Shinkansen station. Plenty of nearby food options, like the Royal Hosts. Room size is just ok. Self service largely for check in, check out and luggage storage. Buffet breakfast can be long queue at peak hour. Huge breakfast room though."

"Location is very close to the JR train station. Can’t ask for more and food options are close by. A short train ride can get you to the usual tourist spots (Shibuya, Tokyo station, Umeda, Shinjuku, Ueno, etc) easily. As with any standard hotel, it’s a small room and no frills. No in room coffee or tea bags. BUT you get a bottle of water per occupant for every new day and there’s an electric kettle. Housekeeping is a little lacking. They make your beds, clear the rubbish bins, replace the bottles of water and provide fresh towels. However… they don’t really clean the rubbish off the floor if you haven’t to litter and they don’t wash the towel bowl… when I checked in, maybe it’s just my luck… BUT the toilet smelled really strong of PEE. A very very big disgust! I washed the toilet bowl and floor. Thank God the water is hot which provided some sterilisation. Room condition looks aged but functional. Decor looks nostalgia. If you are just looking for a night stay, this place will more than make it up."

"I stayed at Hotel Villa Fontaine Grand Tokyo Shiodome and had a pleasant experience overall. The hotel is conveniently located within the Shiodome complex, making it easy to access public transportation and nearby attractions. The breakfast was excellent, with a wide variety of delicious Japanese and Western options. I also noticed that many international guests, especially Americans, were staying here, which gave the hotel a lively and welcoming atmosphere. On the downside, the staff were just average not unfriendly, but not particularly warm or attentive either. The room was also smaller than it appeared in the photos, and the bathroom was very compact, with just enough space to move around comfortably. I expected a little more based on the pictures, but I understand that compact rooms are quite common in Tokyo. One thing that could definitely be improved is the smoking area. The smoking cubicle only accommodates two people at a time. Since many guests including myself were smokers, there was often a queue during peak hours, which was quite inconvenient. Overall, it’s a good hotel with a fantastic location and excellent breakfast. Just keep your expectations realistic regarding room size, and be prepared for the limited smoking facilities if you’re a smoker."

"The location is fantastic - only about a 3–6min minute walk from Higashi-Ginza Station and Ginza’s main shopping streets. It’s also very convenient for visiting Tsukiji Market. Getting to Haneda Airport is easy too, with a direct subway connection. The room was clean and comfortable, and a good size for Tokyo, spacious enough for us to have our suitcases (3 big suitcases and 1 hand-carry)opened wide for packing. The beds were comfy and provided great support. There’s a public bath down in the basement, allowing for a relaxing good soak after a long day of walking. Overall, we were satisfied with this hotel. The combination of an excellent location, and well-maintained facilities, comfortable rooms and a quiet environment makes it a great choice for staying in Ginza."

"The location of the hotel is very convenient; not too far from Mita Station which is direct from Haneda Airport and from Tamachi Station that connects to the rest of Tokyo. Check-in and check-out are done on the tablets on 2F and it's very quick. Our beds were in room 202 which is very big but we didn't hear the others much. However the vibrations of the subway are quite loud. The air conditioning is put very low. The bathroom has both toothbrushes and towels available. There is a washing machine (300¥ for a cycle) and a dryer (100¥/30min) but they only accept 100-yen coins. Wifi doesn't work in the basement floor although it's fine in the bedrooms."

LlijunweiThe room was comfortable, and for Japan, the size was quite good for the price. It's super close to the subway station (West Exit). Just note that if you have large luggage and need to use the elevator, you'll have to go to the other exit (East Exit).

GGuest UserI was really satisfied with the price during Chinese New Year for a hotel in the heart of Ginza, Tokyo, especially since it also had a hot spring. The staff were incredibly polite and friendly. The Higashi-Ginza subway station is right at the crossroads next to the hotel, and there are even two 'Ore no Yakiniku' restaurants nearby! 😍

GGuest User• located at the furthest exit from the Ikebukuro train station. have to walk about 10-15 minutes to get to the Yamanote line. the surrounding is also filled with a lot of sus shops, with girls standing around at night holding papers and shouting at men. if you’re a female they won’t bother you but if you’re a guy stay safe.  • at night can hear some shouting from the street as well.  • good; have Refa hair dryer, hair wash etc. there’s also a laundry machine, microwave, etc. which was really nice. • space wise, I think that it is very spacious especially for a solo traveller with only one luggage but if you have two, there might not be enough space for you to open your luggage.

GGuest UserI had a wonderful 4-night stay here during my trip to Japan. The hotel was exceptionally clean, and the staff were incredibly friendly, welcoming, and always ready to help. For the price, it offers excellent value. The breakfast was delicious with a good variety of options, making it a great way to start each day. The room size is what you would typically expect in Japan—compact but well-designed and comfortable. It had everything we needed, and the hotel provided all the essential amenities. Fresh towels were replaced daily, along with two complimentary bottles of water. One thoughtful touch I really appreciated was the housekeeping service. Even when we put up the ”Do Not Disturb” sign, they fully respected our privacy and never entered the room. Instead, they hung fresh towels and bottled water on our door every day. The hotel also displayed the daily weather forecast at the reception, which was very helpful when planning our itinerary. On the day we checked out, it was raining. The receptionist patiently showed us how to get to the Skyliner through the underground station so we could avoid walking in the rain. Their kindness and excellent service truly left a lasting impression. Overall, this hotel exceeded my expectations in terms of cleanliness, service, and value for money. I would definitely stay here again on my next trip to Japan. Highly recommended!

ZZenchenkoOverall, the hotel left a pleasant impression. The location is excellent: there are several metro stations nearby, making it very convenient to get to any part of Tokyo. The breakfasts were tasty and varied – that's one of the hotel's main advantages. The room turned out to be quite small, which is expected for Tokyo, but there wasn't much free space. Also, the duvet cover was a bit surprising – it had a very unusual design and wasn't very convenient to use. A particular downside was the air conditioning. Over four nights, I couldn't manage to set a comfortable temperature: either the room was too cold, or the air conditioner barely blew at all. I couldn't find a happy medium. Otherwise, the hotel is good, especially if a convenient location and a good breakfast are important to you.

LLuguodeguanguangkeThe hotel's location is super convenient, just a few minutes' walk from Senso-ji Temple, and there are tons of food options nearby. The front desk staff were really friendly and helpful, and they even offered luggage storage. The room felt a bit like a 'hostel plus' version – pretty small, and the bathrooms were shared, but they were very clean. The facilities were also comprehensive, with a washing machine that had a drying function and a kitchen. Plus, there's a FamilyMart right downstairs. Overall, definitely recommend it!

GGuest UserLocation is 15 mins to Shinjuku station but along the way quite a lots to see. I’m enjoy the price offered for this location and distance. Laundry a bit expensive with 600 yen for 1kg. The location is next to night clubs too (you can choose to walk to Shinjuku station with other street) and worst is the hotel signboard is not obvious as it is small and in front of the hotel, , comparing to others to put up big and tall at the junction. You will easily miss it as I have walked back 3 times and finally found it by looking for white building

GGuest UserI liked this place. A pretty standard classic capsule hotel: sizeable capsule with a console, daily turnover service, large shower and onsen room with an attached steam room. Service was good: they have an army of twinks working there after hours, it was like being checked in by BTS. All issues I had with my capsule (broken lightbulb) were addressed quickly and cheerfully. Sometimes it kinda seemed like they were laughing at a few of the foreign guests, but you know what, fair. This place is kinda rules heavy, with lots of notices posted around the property. There is no eating or drinking in the capsules, and instead you have to go to this common area that feels a bit like a hospice for abandoned uncles. Vending machines, manga library, smoking cubicles, that sorta thing. Clean and tidy though, equal numbers of dudes using it for remote working and day drinking (I have a feeling that some ppl live in this place). They have the usual elaborate system of lockers and keys, but they will store your luggage for you while you are out. No need to check out in the day. Overall a chill experience. While I was staying there though some dude did have a mini breakdown about what he saw as it's shortcomings, so I just wanted to comment on that. According to him the place was disgusting. He was especially perturbed by the housekeeping service and the showers. His claim was the the toilets were dirty and that it was unacceptable to fold bedsheets on the floor. Mind you, he was having this rant at 10:30 - checkout is at 10:00, meaning that a whole stampede of airport-bound weebs had just taken spicy ramen fuelled power dumps so they could get out of there on time. Most of the day the facilities were pretty spotless in my opinion. In regards to folding the bedsheets on the floor, I dunno what in the Disney princess he was expecting, but there really isn't anywhere else to do it. I think it's unreasonable to expect little doves to come fly your linens into your capsule tbh. The capsules are literally on... the floor! What do you want? His overall complaint that the space was generally messy was a lot more valid. At this point I had a suspicion that they kind of segregated foreigners from Japanese customers. It's true, that the foreign floor was a bit of a tip - luggage thrown around, empty bottles everywhere, garbage. I went up to the Japanese floors to snoop around a bit. Spotless. (Pictures of both included for comparison) In this case I think the call is coming from inside the capsule, not really fair to hold the staff accountable to your own messy manners. His final gripe was about the showers - specifically the lack of private cubicles. Private cubicles were not advertised anywhere and Japanese onsens are pretty standardly communal spaces, so again I dunno what he wanted. Maybe a shower, with a curtain? Maybe a shower with a door? Maybe a shower with a psychic forcefield that would make his ex girlfriends forget his underwhelming junk and prevent his father from behind disappointed in him? I'm not sure. But I guess the dozen shower stations with soap, shampoo, and face wash weren't cutting it. In fact a lot of the Western guests seemed pretty pranged out by the shower situation, waiting until like two am to wash up and then scurrying around the baths with a hand towel infront of their package like a little purse. If you regret going bald, that's on you. Kinda silly, but if you are bashful maybe this also isn't the hotel for you. Unreasonable though to blame the establishment for you own shame. Anyway, that's all to say the worst part of my stay was for sure the ranting and raving from an unshowered backpacker while I was trying to have a lie in. Otherwise a pretty decent stay.

GGuest UserIt's a 5-10 minute walk from the metro, depending on which station you come from. There are no large shopping centers nearby. However, there's a Harry Potter station, a Harry Potter cafe, and a store. The hotel itself offers luggage storage. The capsules, lockers, and showers are all on different floors. It's a bit inconvenient having to constantly move between floors in the elevator. Inside the capsule, there are only two small shelves on the sides, though it does have a power outlet and a USB-A port. I really wish there was a bigger shelf, a hook, and a mini-safe.
