1715 Duplex Hotel

Overall satisfactory, but the duplex is actually very inconvenient. You have to go downstairs to go to the toilet at night; but the location is excellent, the Winter Palace, the Blood Cathedral, and Nevsky Street are all walking.

Pros: Excellent value. Very close to the train station, convenient for those traveling in and out of Moscow. Nevsky Prospekt and the metro station are both very close, and the Bull Restaurant is just over a 10-minute walk away. I bought a three-day St. Petersburg pass, which made bus and metro travel very convenient. The hotel was very clean, with a bar on the first floor offering free snacks. The breakfast was excellent, with hot dishes suitable for Chinese palates. The family rooms also had kitchenware, allowing for cooking vegetables. The staff were also very friendly, and the front desk spoke English. On my last day, I had to catch a train and had breakfast at 7:30, which they readily agreed to. Cons: The hotel is difficult to find. After exiting the train station, go past two traffic lights and into a small alley, turn right. There's a bakery on the corner, next to a bank. There's a small white door (see the third picture, the small door next to the green shop). Ring the doorbell and go up to the second floor to check in. The hotel is a converted old building, so there's no elevator.

Easy 10/10. Perfect location, impeccably maintained property — worth a visit on its own. Outstanding room quality, attention to detail, professionalism, and genuine friendliness. Spot on. A small story: I handed in my shoes for shining on the evening of our arrival, as I needed them for a ballet performance at the Mariinsky Theater the next day. Somehow, the hotel misplaced the shoes, and I had to leave for the performance in my sneakers. Natalia from the concierge desk tracked them down, drove to the theater, texted me the moment the first intermission started, and was waiting outside with my polished shoes and a shoehorn — then even returned my sneakers to the room. Truly impressive and completely unexpected! It almost makes you forget the minibar price list (though I still enjoyed the $15 pack of gummy bears). Tipp: try the insta breakfast in the room - another 10/10!

Oh, how much I loved this apart-hotel! I had a short layover in St. Petersburg on my way home. So I looked for a hotel close to the airport. At first, we considered a more basic hotel, but then decided that even for 12 hours, we might as well make them count. Upon arrival, there was a barrier, and the taxi driver was afraid to enter the premises, thinking he would be charged 300 rubles upon exiting. Don't worry, you can enter without fear; there's no charge for hotel guests. Check-in was quick, and we were assigned a room on the 22nd floor. Oh my, the view was magnificent! We caught the sunrise in the morning, the sunset in the evening, and the room was filled with sun all day. Everything was perfectly clean, both in the room and on the floors. The room was quite spacious, with large wardrobes for clothes and carved shelves on the wall for small items. There were dishes for cooking, a stove, a kettle, and a microwave. Nearby, there are shops with ready-made meals and groceries for cooking. The only thing is, if your windows face south, as ours did, it can be noisy from the road. But in summer, you can keep the window closed and use the air conditioning. The hotel is far from the city center, but a taxi solves that problem. On the other hand, it's close to the airport, only an 8-minute drive. When we checked out, it was evening, and a girl was playing the piano in the hotel lobby. I really enjoyed the stunningly beautiful music. And on arrival, female guests received a tulip flower because it was March 8th. It was incredibly thoughtful to show such attention to guests. The hotel has a pool and a spa, but we didn't have time to visit them, though I imagine they are just as wonderful. The hotel has a very light, modern, and vibrant energy. Definitely stay here! You can even bring pets.

The biggest surprise during my trip to St. Petersburg was this room! Without even leaving, I could quietly gaze at the Cruiser Aurora on the Neva River from the window, and both the daytime and nighttime views had their own unique charm. To be honest, the room was a bit cramped, the single bed was on the small side, and storage space was limited (I heard this is common in Russian hotels, so there's not much to complain about). Ultimately, the trade-off depends on how much you desire this unique river-view spectacle. The scenery is definitely worth a temporary compromise.

This hotel is similar to a budget hotel in China, but the price is significantly higher. This might be due to the proximity of the Scarlet Sails festival. The facilities are quite old. We stayed for five nights, and the housekeeping was decent, although they occasionally missed replenishing amenities. I have to particularly complain about the disposable toothbrushes; the bristles kept falling out, which indicates a quality control issue. The air conditioner is very old-fashioned, and perhaps not used frequently, but it's incredibly noisy. It's impossible to sleep with it on at night.

The hotel's location on Ctrip's map is incorrect. It's not directly on Nevsky Prospekt, but rather on a wider side street off Nevsky Prospekt, with cobblestone roads on either side and a broad pedestrian walkway in the middle (the entrance is about 100m from Nevsky Prospekt). Despite this, the location is excellent, as it's close to attractions like Kazan Cathedral, the Church of the Savior on Spilled Blood, and the Winter Palace. The hotel's exterior is currently undergoing renovations (and it's not just this hotel; the entire area has scaffolding for facade work). Because of this, room windows cannot be opened, and there's no air conditioning, though fans are provided. We stayed for 4 nights. On the first night, we were in a room on the right side of the corridor. With the outdoor temperature at 10 degrees Celsius, the indoor temperature felt at least 25 degrees or more, and the bathroom was even hotter. We had the fan on all night, but it was really uncomfortable. On the second day, we informed the front desk that the room was too hot and asked for a solution. The hotel agreed to switch our room. Since the new room they offered was slightly larger and on the opposite side (the left side of the corridor), they asked us to pay an additional 800 rubles per night. As staying in the original room was unbearable, we had no choice but to agree. The subsequent 3 nights were much more comfortable, and we didn't even need the fan, but that was when the outdoor temperature was only 10 degrees Celsius. Due to the ongoing renovations, the hotel breakfast currently offers a choice of 1 out of 3 set meals, along with coffee, bread, and fruit.

Rating: 7/10. Top location, but mind the shared facilities!Pros: Unbeatable location just 3 minutes from Moskovsky Railway Station and the Galeria mall. The loft-style design looks great, it’s clean, and the Wi-Fi is fast. The contactless self-check-in via electronic keycodes works seamlessly. There is a cozy shared kitchen area equipped with a fridge, microwave, kettle, tableware, and complimentary tea/coffee.Cons: There are only 2 toilets and 1 shower for 7–8 rooms. When the place is fully booked, waiting lines are inevitable, which can be frustrating. Soundproofing is weak due to thin walls. Check-in and check-out times are strict (strictly from 2:00 PM and before 12:00 PM respectively). Since it's fully contactless, early arrival or late departure is hard to arrange, so plan your transit carefully.

We stayed for 3 nights in Saint Petersburg. So 1) location: The hotel is in a quiet locality and is almost unrecognizable. Does not look like a hotel from the outside 2) Staff support: The staff speaks minimal english 3) Service: The hotel does not have breakfast or a restaurant, but there are restaurants and cafes within walking distance (10 minutes), so workable; and the elevator makes quite a noise, but it's workable/safe. 4) Overall experience: Bad - Mediocre: No one helps you out with the luggage, even when they see you are struggling. I am not sure if that is the norm here in Russia. no courtesy, no support/ no extra help for any sort. I guess kindness is chargeable in Russia. Not just this hotel, every hotel we stayed in Russia, I saw no one helping families or even asking for help. Just cold, transactional behavior.

Good, clean apartment with a huge, comfy king-size bed and an excellent mattress. The white linens were perfect, and it had everything needed to heat up food. The large bathroom, combined with the toilet, had a great walk-in shower. The only downside was that it was a bit chilly.
