Hotels near Galata, Istanbul

Good hotel location. Big and beautiful room. Though toilet size is small. Poor pressure from rain headshower and no place to hang showerhead above the head. No glass to put toothbrush. No proper place to put clean tower except at below sink which is near to the floor (kinda dirty to put it there). FYI, This hotel only has 1 lift and long queue time especially during breakfast time. Almost got kicked out of my room (standard room) and changed to economy room by Weingart management due to some events and prolly not enough room for them, eventhough I have booked way early, however, trip.com has assisted me to maintain my room after a long consultation. Big thumbs up by trip.com customer service. I would highly recommend this hotel if you’re staying at Karakoy area and wont be facing the same issue as above from their management.

The hotel is in the Karaköy district, which is perfect for exploring Istanbul. It’s walkable to the T1 tram station, Galata Tower, and the art museum so location is definitely a highlight. The area also feels pretty safe, even for female travelers, which is a big plus. Our room was clean and had a spacious bathroom, which was nice. However, we were placed on the first floor, and the view was underwhelming. The staff greeted us and said hello, but I didn’t feel very welcomed for a 5-star service. They could have been more helpful with directions and local tips, especially since we were female travelers. Overall, service felt a bit distant. maybe I expected more from a 5-star property. (Just my personal opinion ) Pros: - Excellent location - Safe area for female travelers - Clean room and big bathroom Cons: - First floor view was disappointing - Staff could be friendlier and more helpful

Cons: Hygiene: The hotel is advertised to open in 2026, but since it's still under renovation, there's dust in all the floor cracks. As soon as you enter, you're hit with the smell of new renovation formaldehyde, and it's even stronger in the room. With no screens on the windows, I could only air it out for a short hour. There was also a blood-like stain on the pillow that hadn't been cleaned (forgot to take a picture). Facilities: The elevator was out of service, so I had to take the stairs. Luckily, my floor wasn't too high. The air conditioning in the room wasn't working, and there was no fresh air ventilation system. The tissue box was empty. The security latch on the door was broken (it was already past midnight so I didn't bother calling the front desk, and just used the sofa to block the door). Pros: The bed was large with a comfortable firmness, and the shower had excellent hot water. Location: Excellent, very convenient for getting around. Decor: Very distinctive style, and the room wasn't too small.

A very classic European-style hotel with a super convenient location, although the hilly streets did tire out my legs a bit. It's close to the subway, a cable car, and bus stops. There's also a cat museum nearby, and plenty of dining options. The wallpaper in the room was exquisite, and the light switches and power outlets had a charmingly antique feel. The best part was definitely the breakfast – a wide variety of dishes, and all excellent quality. You could easily call it brunch! 😄

We took the most budget room for 4 nights with the daughter, for this money that we booked us arranged everything! It was quiet, the windows in the yard, but we came only to sleep, it was warm, the window was open left otherwise it became soap, TV, items: soap, shampoo, air conditioner, shower gel, towel 4 pieces plus for feet, the teapot, the water was brought every day, tea in bags, coffee too was filled , cleaning daily. There was no: Fan, but did not have it, there were no dressers, there was no closet, only open storage, but we arrived at easy us everything arranged, also there is a refrigerator in the room and safe! The room is small, the shower is good, the only one is a little unusual water is streaming on the floor and spilling across the shower it is necessary to take into account - by type of sauna ) Service and location are quite excellent budget option in the very center of Istanbul! Safe, busy in step-to-step access shops, cafes, sights, transport any! Recommended!

A basic room with cheap repairs, then a room on the fifth floor, everything creaks, but overall it's okay for the price. At reception, the guy tried to cheat and asked for an extra charge for no apparent reason, initially jacking up the price even higher than Trip. It was a bit of a bummer.

Stayed at Querencia Hotel in Istanbul and had a really pleasant experience overall. 📍 Location The hotel is located very close to Galata Tower, which makes it a great base for exploring. Although the area is quite hilly (be prepared for some uphill walks!), it’s still very convenient to get around. I was able to walk to Istiklal Street, Taksim, and even down to the pier without much issue. From there, it’s easy to hop on a ferry to Kadıköy or catch the tram to explore other parts of the city. 🛏️ Room & Comfort The room was surprisingly spacious, which is a big plus in Istanbul. Everything felt comfortable and well-kept. The highlight for me was definitely the hot shower — especially appreciated during the cold and rainy weather. 🤝 Service The staff were warm and accommodating. I requested an early check-in due to the weather, and although it wasn’t guaranteed, they genuinely tried their best to arrange it. They were also very helpful in recommending nearby eateries that offer good food at reasonable prices — a big bonus when you’re new to the area. Overall, a great stay with a balance of comfort, location, and friendly service. Would definitely recommend, especially if you don’t mind a bit of walking!

So the guy I was texting with was very friendly and very communicative and always said he had a friend coming. We stayed in the basement and it was more of an apartment building. No lobby no nothing, but not that big of an issue with that. Our issues came from the actual ammentities. We had issue with out heater that we were able to figure out. But the reason why this is getting such a low score was due to the hot water heater. Our shower in the basement got warm enough to be 20°C which was unfortunate for the winter and the missus. We mentioned it to them and they sent someone and he wasn't super helpful. The location was great the communication was okay. But no shower for hot water really ruined the experience and the way it was handled was not up to our standards.

The hotel's location is excellent. It's a relatively short downhill walk from Karakoy Metro Station (Line 2). Most of our travel needs were covered by trams and buses. The hotel is very close to Galata Tower, and there are many small restaurants nearby favored by locals. From our room, we could see the mosques and bridges of the Old City. While waiting to check-in, the hotel offered us a local specialty drink, sahlep. Our room was clean and tidy, and housekeeping was very prompt. The front desk staff, Setit Taha, was incredibly helpful, showing us the bus routes. Yusuf also assisted us by checking if the mosques were open for visits during Ramadan. These gestures made our trip a wonderful memory. Thank you very much!
