This is the third time we have visited the Ben Lawers Hotel for an evening meal while on holiday in Scotland. It is in a really good location and the food has always been great. We decided to go back for the last evening of our holiday for the traditional scottish music session (held every second Friday of the month) - so glad we did, it was a really enjoyable evening.

We had a wonderful three night stay here. The setting and the views are magnificent and the hotel is lovely and peaceful. We had a room with windows facing in three directions (two in the bedroom and one in the bathroom), very comfortable and well decorated, and a really powerful shower, which we loved! There is a snug little lounge with books and games, and a very a**ospheric bar/dining room. Breakfasts are great, as copious as you wish (we loved them). We didn't manage to have dinner because of the way our schedule worked out, but we noticed lamb shank in red wine on the menu, which sounded delicious. We did however enjoy a sensational 10 year old Aberfeldy malt at the bar at Reece's recommendation, which was sensational - even for non whisky drinkers like us !! Reece was our main contact, he was very efficient, helpful, and friendly and we also met Dee and Paul who were also very welcoming. It was a fantastic stay, we recharged the batteries and enjoyed every minute

We decided to eat here one evening as we were staying nearby. The menu was good, clearly setting out vegan and gluten free options. The food was tasty and portions generous. Prices were very reasonable. Staff were friendly and polite. If we visited the area again we would definitely eat here.

Our group of 5 adults and 2 canines really enjoyed our few days in this beautiful location. The proprietor and his well trained staff were most welcoming. The property is kept very clean and the accommodation is comfortable. The bar and dining room have a great ambience. There is a super choice of menu with daily specials. We enjoyed our meals so much our first night, we booked to eat in again the next two nights of our stay ! Vegetarians and vegans should find plenty of choice. There is good parking and dogs are very welcome. I will look forward to staying again, thank you very much Ben Lawers Hotel!

Avoid at all costs. The worst customer service ever experienced. We got married locally at the weekend and 2 months ago booked a room for our friends to stay in. The next day they advised they didn’t need it. We had already been speaking to a lady at Ben Lawers Hotel regarding using their car park as we were originally planning on getting married at Old Lawers Village, she was helpful and advised that we may be able to use part of the farmers land next door for car parking. When our friends advised us they were not needing the room, we called up Ben Lawers Hotel and spoke to the same lady and advised we need to cancel the room and also won’t be requiring use of their car park as now had different plans. She said no problem and that was that. The night before the wedding we got a charge on our card of £150 from Ben Lawers Hotel. I called up and spoke to a gentleman (I believe this now to be Paul, the owner) and explained that we cancelled this room and I don’t understand why we have been charged. He advised all cancellations had to be put in writing and this is on our email confirmation and on their website… it’s not. Or if it is, it isn’t clear at all. Not that it being on the website even matters as this is invalid. All cancellation policies must be on written confirmations, which it is not. Just that you have to cancel 96 hours prior. We called 2 months prior. I advised I spoke to this lady and he said I would need to call back to speak to her the next day which I did. During the conversation she confirmed that the cancellation conversation did happen but miraculously can’t remember speaking about the room and she wasn’t authorised to cancel anything or refund anything. I asked for Paul to call us back who is authorised to do this, which he didn’t. I have just spoken to this lady now who told me that Paul advised he wouldn’t be calling me back as he dealt with it. Which he most definitely has not as they still have our £150 through their own fault they will not admit to. She then hung up on me. I have never once been rude or unreasonable speaking with these people and for them to hang up on a customer who they have just fleeced SCREAMS guilty conscience! We are now going through our bank to get this money back as I can’t even get through a phone call with these people without being hung up on. This could have been resolved a lot more amicably but the staff at Ben Lawers Hotel decided this was not to be. They changed their story multiple times, especially the lady we were speaking to. They honestly sound like they don’t have a clue about anything, including running their own business.

We had a fantastic 3 night stay. Wonderful bedroom, with views in three directions, two from the bedroom and one from the bathroom. The room was a good size, and the shower was really powerful, which we like! Very efficient friendly welcome - Reece was our main contact, he was excellent, and we also met Paul and Dee who were also very welcoming. The lounge and bar/dining room are snug and a**ospheric, we loved our breakfasts (as copious as you want them to be!) and just wish we could have fitted in dinner as well (but our schedule made this impossible) since we had spotted lamb shank in red wine on the menu! We did however try a 10 year old Aberfeldy malt at Reece's suggestion, and it was sensational. And of course the location is stunning. So it was a great stay all round.
