"The building and gardens are beautiful but inside was another story. We stayed one night in the Baroque Room but the furnishings and decoration had no connection to Baroque. The room had an air conditioner but no remote control to operate it – we worked out how to do it eventually. The shower was very small with sliding doors that didn’t fully meet meaning water escaped onto the floor. In addition, it didn’t drain properly – slowly filling up as it was used. No hand towel was provided. There was only one free power outlet available in the whole room for charging phones, toothbrushes etc. Breakfast was basic comprising just orange juice and bread, butter and jam. Coffee was weak and lukewarm. On departure we provided our honest feedback to the host based upon our experience in other properties across France but it was not well received - with my wife being called a “complicated woman”. Overall, our stay was a disappointment."

"During a cycling weekend with friends, we had the pleasure of staying one night in this pretty house in the village of Saint Brieux des Ifs. After a warm welcome from the owner, we enjoyed a refreshing drink on the terrace bordered by a stream. We discovered our rooms, all beautifully decorated and tastefully furnished, then headed to the heated indoor pool. Dinner and breakfast, both excellent and prepared with local products. On site, you can find soaps and blends of aromatic herbs for sale. They are made by local artisans. There were 5 of us couples and we all had a great time together!"

"We chose to spend the last night of our vacation here. A very charming inn located in the small town of Hede. The area is very quiet and secluded. The staff were friendly and welcoming, and the rooms were clean and comfortable. We added both breakfast and dinner to our reservation and were pleasantly surprised. Recommended!"
