Pinewood Country House

Super place to stay and Tom & Karen are really nice people. We bombarded them with questions prior to arrival, all dealt with promptly & with good humour. Their guest house was the last one on our Fife Coastal Path Walk and, without doubt, the best one we stayed at. Great room, lovely common areas to use & a super breakfast (complete with views of red squirrels having their own breakfast by the beech tree on the lawn). Good pub food just a 10 minute walk down the road. On our last night, celebrating successful completion of our 7 day walk, I availed of a dram of the complimentary Glenlivet left out by our hosts. Pinewood is highly recommended. Thank you both.

We stayed b&b in the self-catering lodge next to the main building. The lodge is immaculate, well-decorated and containing everything you could possibly need. The downstairs double bedroom and walk-in shower is ideal for someone partially-disabled. Tom and Karen were friendly and very helpful in a minor crisis. Within easy reach of St Andrews (without its rediculous prices) and St Michael's Inn for an evening meal.

This was a great property for a private stay, comfortable bed, terrific, breakfast, and the genuine hospitality of the host that somehow made you feel like old friends instantly. Tom and Karen are genuinely great. We would definitely stay here again and recommend it to any of our friends.

Pinewood was the perfect home from home for our group of 8 golfers enjoying several days of golf in the St Andrews area. Karen and Tom were fantastic hosts and the hospitality and accommodations were wonderful. The accommodations are very comfortable and the terrific breakfast got us all up and running each day. Very strongly recommend!!!

This is a good property and the owners are very helpful. The bedrooms are excellent and suited for 12 people, although the living accommodation of two rooms is tight and we could have done with more for our party of 8 people and 3 dogs. The dining table in the lounge area takes 8 people and the kitchen table takes less. It is near Tentsmuir Forest which is great, but (as warned) our dogs came back with ticks every time. The beach at St Andrews is lovely and on a Sunday you can also walk the Old Course with your dogs which is a highlight for any golfer. We were disappointed by the garden, as the only enclosed area was down the side of the house accessed by going out through the front door and past the owners’ section. Though having an excellent large BBQ, the area is small. The owners live in the section to the right of the property and along the back of the house, so they have the use of the back garden and the only other outside area is the front garden which is not enclosed. It lies on a busy road without a gate and is also open for dogs to roam onto the neighbour’s plot, so only useful for well-behaved dogs and children. Internet access was unreliable. Parking is fine for three cars which is what we had, although it meant that any visitors to the owners would invariably park outside our living space which was intrusive. I wasn’t used to an induction hob and the pans I had brought for cooking didn’t fit the hobs. The baking dishes supplied were small and limited, not suitable for a large party cooking. However the oven is a good size. Both the microwave and fridge are very small, I put as much as I could in the freezer. I had Sainsbury’s deliveries while there, they arrived promptly. A nice coffee machine with pods was supplied, that was much appreciated. As to cleanliness, it was generally spotless apart from the fridge and the microwave door, which I had to clean before use, everything else was fine.
