Great stay,clean room ,in the heart of Bailgate near the Castle as Nd Cathedral not far from main high street for the shops and Bars. Breakfast was perfect nice clean bathroom,Bed was very comfy with the added bonus of Netflix Great selection of various teas and coffee machine with a mini bar and a few snacks. Don't let the drive put you off,it is steep and narrow but no problems at all,if you are not confident enough parking on the road is also available. Martyn the owner was very welcoming and showed us to our room and explained everything we needed to know.

A beautiful, clean, friendly place to stay in a perfect location. We arrived to a very pleasant welcome from our host Martin who even took us up to our room and showed us around, a welcome change from just being pointed in the direction of a room from behind a desk!!! Room was clean, tidy and had everything we needed. Breakfast was lovely,ordered the night before and served in a lovely room with beautiful views. Just a short walk through the back gate and your right by the castle and cathedral and also many lovely bars and restaurants...couldn't be in a better location !!!! Will definitely stay here again if ever we are in Lincoln in the future.

I called to check what rooms were available, I’d stayed in this hotel before and wanted a room with a view over the city. I was told they had a cancellation and that I could have a room with a view. So I booked it. On arrival, they told me there’d been a ‘mix up’ and put me in a room with no view at all. It was incredibly dark and oppressive, not at all what I wanted or had paid for, but there was no apology from them at all. Had I known this was the room they were going to put me in I would never have booked it but it was too late for me to find something else. I’d been in contact with the hotel more than once on the day of my arrival, so they had ample opportunity to tell me they had changed the terms of my booking, but they chose not to. I specifically booked a room with a view, why provide something completely different and not even apologise for it! If you’re planning on staying here don’t trust the owners to deliver anything that’s agreed in the price you pay because no matter what it might mean to you, it clearly means nothing to them.

Beautiful room in a beautiful B&B with lovely staff, 5 mins walk to Cathedral, Castle and Town, breakfast was so tasty, view from dining room fantastic, everything about this place is amazing! We will return.

If there was a 4.75 I would have given it. A comfy room, lovely staff and great cold breakfast with choice of hot eggs including omelette. The small reduction in points is because of the parking. Up a steep drive and then on a steep drive behind others and you might have to move to allow them to get out. Not easy although staff are helpful. You don't want to reverse along the drive to get out!! We are elderly so younger people might cope better as a lovely b and b in a fabulous location.

Couldnt ask for more, clean well decorated quirky rooms , very comfy beds , the owners had thought of everything, lovely little touches such as the refreshments in the room which was payable , coffee machine and various choices of tea. Breakfast was tasty and fresh a range of choices, friendly server didnt get her name. You choose the time and menu the night before which was a great idea. Martin the owner was friendly and very welcoming , nothing to much trouble . A little gem of a hotel, dont hesitate to book , look forward to visiting again

Lovely building, staff helpful and polite. Room rather small but adequate. Keypad on room door could be in a higher position (rather awkward to use). Extremely clean and lovely furniture.

We booked a one night stay here to visit Lincoln Castle and the cathedral. Perfect location, as they had a gate at the end of their garden which allowed easy access to all parts of Lincoln. Rooms were very clean and had everything we needed however very small, was quite tricky getting ready with two of us in the room due to lack of space. However the facilities in the room were great, we had a smart TV and tea and coffee! They offer a wide range for breakfast, and you order this the night before to allow them time to prepare. The latest time is 9.30 for breakfast. It’s a very small breakfast room meaning you sit on a table with others. Which was fine for us. However, a member of staff called in sick leaving them short staffed which resulted in me and my partner eating at completely different times and lack of organisation. We could also hear issues from other table which made the atmosphere very awkward but we understand this isn’t their fault. Just be careful if you drive a bigger car as my partner struggled to get in and out of the driveway as it’s very tight so I’d recommended making sure you check before arriving. It’s also very steep which resulted my partner scraping the front off his car. Overall a good stay just a few issues out of their control!
