Reading a lot of these reviews I guess that I was luckier than I thought at the time. Let's deal with the positives first. The hotel is easy to get to from the airport. Take the metro from the airport to Saldanha on the same red line. From the station it's a relatively short walk to the hotel. My room was pretty clean too, spacious and quiet. However the bed was very hard, and the pillows totally inadequate. In order to sleep I had to use three of them. These are all small things. However the situation with the Reception is just weird. It is NEVER open. They have a grille across it at all times. When I arrived I had somethings to sort out with them and I did not take kindly to being screamed at to get out. This is no way to treat paying guests. Then they decided the next day to charge me tax. They kept ringing me ad ringing me, but every time I went down to try to pay, the grille was across and nobody was there. Even when I found someone there the next day they would NOT open the grille, and I had to feed the money through it! What is their problem? I have stayed in many budget hotels across Europe, and I'm afraid that the staff are the rudest and most unhelpful I have encountered yet,
