Hotels near Museu SL Benfica in Lisbon

Hotel is located very close to the Rossio Train Station. We stayed for 4 nights and it was a good stay. Lots of restaurants within walking distance and even steps from the hotels door. Very convenient. The Metro (Subway) was less than a 1 minute walk although we did not use it. Room was basic but very clean. Housekeeping staff did a wonderful job. Front desk was always attended and very helpful and pleasant as well. Will stay here again.

This hostel is operated like a 2-star hotel, providing cozy room with private bathroom and comfortable bed. The business must've undergone major renovation in recent years as everything looks new, practical and comfortable. It is also conveniently located close to the Rossio Metro station and all attractions including Castelo de S. Jorge Castle, the Lisbon Cathedral and Praça do Comércio.

Comfortable, clean and well run. The staff were helpful in clarifying travel issues such as the intermittent rail strike. Our room was good but the lift, although claiming to fit 4 people, is really big enough only for 2 and I think a sizeable hotel. should have more. On the plus side you can get up almost as early or late as you like, because the buffet breakfast is served from 6.30 a.m. to midday. And the dawn chorus of twittering birds outside the window is nice if you like that sort of thing. The hotel is not as central as its title implies and in the area there's a shortage of evening entertainment in the way of bars. A couple of good restaurants, the Churrascaria and the Hamro Ghar (Nepalese, would you believe!) serve good food and beer however.

Pictures on the website are from the new building and be aware that once you arrive you can get one of the old rooms (which are dirty with old furniture and insects) that belongs to the next building which is the Estrella Dos Santos PENSION , and they will charge you the same amount as you stayed in a hotel ($232 for two nights) . They put us in a terrible dirty , very tiny room with no view (there was a wall ). We paid for triple room but because they needed to removed/clean an smashed spider from the dirty wall and some stained/dirty sheets from the room they give us a doble room ”while we wait ” (in the same building Pension) the manager said that we will stay there for our whole stay and charged us for a triple room when we stayed in an awful double room. We chose this place for the reviews -8.5 stars (! ) , for the ”laundry service” and the for 17 minutes walk to Saint George Castle, once you are there they say that there is no laundry service and we have to walk almost half hour to get to the Castle and to the CENTER. We felt very foolish. This is the first time that we had a terrible experience thanks to the very poor skills of a manager who treated us like they were doing us a favor. Unfortunately, we couldn't cancel this reservation because we paid when we arrived at the reception area which was very nicely decorated, after this, they sent us to the next building which is connected with the new building. And of course the manager didn't want to refund us at least with the difference for the price of the triple room with a double. I do not recommend this place. Pictures can show themselves

The host didn't email the door code to me and there was no one answering the doorbell for the first three times my friends and I tried when it's raining heavily outside that day. I called the owner and they said they would open the door but they didn't and I had to call another time so that they would actually give us the door code to get into the building. The environment around the stay is very dirty, the road is full with dog poops everyday since morning and it smells very bad. My belonging is missing in the apar**ent when I'm very sure that it was still in the bathroom before we left the room. I'm not sure if the cleaner broke it or something else, but I asked them and they say there's nothing they can do about it. I don't mind if they broke it i just want an explanation about why is it missing and they just ignored me, instead they just say they couldn't find the item. The cleaner cleans the room everyday, the room is clean and is a nice place to sleep overall.

We booked a room for few days in this very central location in Lisbon – obviously close to the famous Lift, and within walking distance of many interesting places. The hotel is newly renovated, and we had an upgrade to the new Lift Apartments. It could be used for a large family or even two families and has a fully equipped kitchen, dining room, two bedrooms and two bathrooms. The TV had many channels, including English speaking and free access to for instance Netflix. And by the way, super wi-fi. The breakfast was delicious. We experienced service throughout the hotel, just what you would expect and even more. We had a friendly and informative welcome mail before arrival, friendly service at the reception, generous staff for breakfast and again friendly cleaning staff. The last day we received a handwritten personal greeting from the staff – a small gesture, however, much appreciated.

We stayed here for 4 nights , the location is fantastic right in the center near to every thing. The roof top pool is beautiful and a lovely place to sit. The apartment we had was small and basic not very well decorated old furniture but it was spotlessly clean. It was very quiet and all round lovely place to stay, The reception staff are lovely and very helpful. I would definitely stay here again.

This is our second time at Rossio Hostel - we thought it the best hostel we'd ever stayed at in 2019, and now it is even better. Not enough words to tell you everything great about it - though if we boil it down to two words it would be THE PEOPLE who work there are what makes it amazing. Sunday Fado night is not to be missed - when we were there Rossio brought in Jessica Fernandez, who is an amazing singer and she was backed by two highly skilled guitar players - one on classical guitar and one on the Portuguese guitar. Pizza night on Wednesday also included a cover band that was a lot of fun. Aside from all this Rossio Hostel is in a fantastic old building from the late 1700s/early 1800s (post-earthquake) - lots of character. Rossio sits right on Rossio Square - a very central part of Lisbon with the metro and trains right outside your doot. Now, as to what makes Rossio Hostel really stand out - well, that is the people. A big thank you, and kudos, to the staff at Rossio: Madalena, Leavis (hope I'm spelling your nake right my friend), Rita, Paula, Mackayla (also hoping I get your name right), Victoria and especially Elsa who cooked up amazing scrambled eggs and crepes Monday to Friday. I didn't catch the name of the weekend cook - also a big thank you to you and the young lady helping you on the weekend. There are other staff that I didn't have a chance to get their names. The staff at Rossio Hostel make you feel like you are at home - my partner and I also felt like we were part of their family for the six days we were there. The big downside to Rossio Hostel is when you have to leave - the staff make it really hard to leave, because they make you feel so welcome and at home. We've been there twice and we will absolutely be back. If there were a way to give a rating higher than 10 we would certainly do it. Thanks again to everyone at Rossio Hostel for making our trip so special and memorable. On arrival, we were disappointed with the reception staff who were more interested in chatting amongst themselves and asking guests to wait. In our room, the windows had no sound proofing, so you hear all the street noise all the time. Be aware of hearing fire sirens at any time as the fire station is adjacent to the hotel. Our room was just ok. However, the water from the taps and shower was fierce and scaldingly hot unless you were careful. The shower was old and outdated. You could not even adjust the showerhead without standing in the bath. I have never stayed in a hotel of recent times with such poor shower facilities. Urgent updating needed. For a four-star hotel, it was disappointing. There were absolutely no room extras whatsoever. In this respect, it was more like a three-star hotel. I was also amazed to find that there were no tea or coffee making facilities in our room. The hotel leaves a bottle of water in you room each day with a message ”We wish you the most pleasant stay”. However, this is not complimentary. There is a charge of three euros. The good news is that next door there is a good supermarket selling everything, so buy your water there. Breakfast was buffet style and reasonable, but a lot of cold food that had been cooked hot. It was also so noisy inside the restaurant. As the weather was warm, we preferred to have our breakfast outside. However, it was very difficult to avoid cigarette smokers which was a major negative. Only one restaurant in the hotel was open instead of two, which was quite inconvenient. This hotel needs an update, and to review what this hotel should offer their guests. It appeared to me that the Mundial seemed to be more focussed on their business model, giving their room guests no extras. There are better hotels to stay at in Lisbon.
