Good location. Next to the bar street. Deafening disco sound at 3 am. If you like clubbing, you should like it. I don't go to bars, it feels like a nightmare. I can't sleep at night. Luggage storage is charged. Friendly staff. Strict access control.

I attended the Kabannas bar and restaurant in Liverpool for some drinks with friends as were celebrating a birthday. Upon arrival to the venue, my partner informed the bar staff of the drink he wanted while we were still deciding, the lady behind the bar asked for payment and he advised her that we were still deciding what to drink. The lady then stated "well I am not a mind reader". The lady also made an error on some of the drinks we ordered so we asked if they could be changed, she advised that this is what we had told her when it wasn't! I asked to be served my another member of staff due to her behaviour and attitude towards us and we were then told by her that she is the manager and needs to rectify the drinks. We will not be attending this venue again. Drinks were great, customer service was extremely poor !

The staff were so lovely and very helpful. The bar wasn't bad either, but the rooms are nothing short of disgraceful mould everywhere. I wouldn't allow my kids to shower for the 2 days as I was afraid they would be harmed by the excessive mould. Bed frames were caked with dirt. Water running down the windows in the morning. Never experienced anything like it

This is a good value choice right in the heart of Liverpool. We stayed in a private room on the third floor overlooking Matthew Street. Yes, it’s very noisy at the weekend, but there’s nothing anyone can do about that. If you’re out drinking yourselves and planning a late night, then you’ll probably crash out when you get in and sleep through the music blasting in from outside. The room was clean enough, a good shower and comfortable bed. The staff are friendly and the reception/breakfast area was quite attractive. It’s a budget option and if that’s what you need, I would recommend Kabannas.

I had a great one night stay in this beautiful city. The walls could use a little renovation.

Location is very good Room is OK but sink and shower don't drain shower over flows and makes it very slippy when getting out. Old single plain window can be very noisy at night due to location could be abit better wouldn't reccomend staying with a family won't get much sleep. Had requested early check-in didn't get it tho. Fee for storing bags and also fee for towels which I've never had another place i stayed. Nice friendly staff too Good value for money but would need bit of a upgrade and could be a bit cleaner bags if rubbish out in hall for nearly 2 days as well.

The private rooms are all at the front of the building with at least three pubs blaring music out into the street from early-afternoon until 4am. There is no sound-proofing, just single-glazed sash windows and thin curtains. It was so loud that the bed vibrated. Conversation was impossible, let alone sleep, and the volume was so loud I didn't dare open the windows even though the room was stuffy. I've quite happily stayed in city centre hotels before, and am used to grabbing some kip in shared dorms and on trains with a good pair of ear-plugs, but this was impossible. Private rooms are more expensive than a Premier Inn or Travelodge, but come with none of the equivalent facilities such as a kettle or a cup, let alone a good-night sleep guarantee. The hostel also doesn't have traditional facilities for a budget traveller such as a self-catering kitchen. On top of that, the only way to interact with the hostel is via their chatbot. Staff on site can do nothing but apologise, tell you they get a lot of complaints about the noise, and offer you a free cup of tea or earbuds, but beyond that good luck making any kind of complaint. Absolute rip-off, bottom-end facilities for mid-range price. Would not stay with Kabannas under any circumstance ever again.

So, the thing to bear in mind is that this hostel is right on Mathew Street, and the bars/clubs on the street compete for attention by pumping out music as loud as they can. So, if you have a room on that side of the hostel it is very noisy until they close (which is 4am on weekends). If you're a light sleeper and you don't intend to be out late then you might struggle. We went out late and had earplugs and were fine. The room was clean enough and the shower was hot and had good pressure. The reception staff were lovely and very helpful. The cooked breakfast was ok - greasy spoon standard - but sometimes that’s just what you need! Overall we had a good time there.

Located in the heart of Liverpool , Kabannas is the perfect place to book for your next vacay. It is walking distance from Liverpool station, this hostel attracts everyone for its clean interiors and warm staff. One such kind staff member, Omar was very helpful when I forgot my stuff in their hostel and made sure to get my stuff to the right place. Met some wonderful hostelites as well. Definitely recommend this one if you’re heading to Liverpool !

Our room was run down which we could put up with… but the noise was something else! A room with single glazed sash windows isn’t great when it was facing 3 pub/clubs! It was so noisy in our room that we couldn’t hear each other talk. The noise continued until 3am -there was a break until 6, then hotel staff and street cleaning started up again. When I talked to the manager the next day, he said what did we expect- we were in Liverpool ( great response- I’ve been on lots of city breaks- but the rooms were adapted to block out the noise!) the manager said there was nothing he could do apart from give us free headphones (the fact that they had a stash of them says it all) and offered us a free continental breakfast. For £260 for two nights I didn’t think this was acceptable. And- there are no photos of the double rooms on *********** or Kabannas website. When we were given our room key, none of the staff or the manager explained how noisy it would be. A bit of openness and honesty (via *********** or Kabannas website) is something I’d like to make an informed choice!

If I were to be honest about the hotel, I enjoyed my experience and would highly recommend to anyone spending one to two nights within the establishment. However, the major downside me and my peers encountered was the mattresses; in short they seemed to hard and difficult to sleep on… In conclusion to this short review, if you are youthful and able bodied and needed somewhere for a brief stay (for example an overnight) then this is perfect for you! Furthermore, do keep it in the back of your mind that the beds are extremely difficult to sleep on. Kind regards, resident on Monday 26th June 2023 (to Tuesday 27th June 2023) 👍🏻

I stayed at YHA Liverpool Central in February. The hostel is in a great location for exploring Matthew Street and the city centre. The great thing about staying in a hostel is that there are many people in the same boat as you and you usually get chatting to someone. The staff are also understanding and share the customer's love of travel and the outdoors. There is a café which sells alcoholic and non-alcoholic drinks as well as basic (but wholesome) meals. Liverpool itself is well worth a visit as it is the home of the Beatles and hosts two top class football teams. There is plenty to do further afield and I would definitely recommend a visit to the Wirral where you can visit the seaside, participate in watersports or enjoy cycling along the "wirral way" circular bicycle trail.
Response from Property: Thanks for taking the time to leave us a review! We are so pleased to stay you enjoyed your stay with us and that the hostel was great for you, our staff definitely do share the love of travel and it means a lot to them to see review like this! We hope to host you again in the future! YHA Reception Team.
