Booked here last August to stay in February overnight for our friend’s birthday surprise. Paid deposit at the time & remaining cost in January, £248 altogether. The night before going away at 9.30pm, I received a message through the booking app I used to say that the host could no longer accommodate us. An alternative was suggested, which was a double room & looked like student accommodation and was meant to be for 4 of us and for the exact same price. I declined this and asked for a refund. I was told by the booking company that the refund could take from 10-15 days. As you can imagine, this was extremely frustrating having to find an alternative so last minute and was challenging to find somewhere. We had to pay additional money to book somewhere else and this was further away resulting in more expense with taxis to and from all the places we had booked during our stay. It took over 5 weeks of me contacting the booking app that I used to refund me. Istay have been unreachable and have not responded to myself or the booking company to provide the refund. Absolutely shocking that they can take money from you, cancel last minute and keep hold of your money. Avoid at all costs!
