I recently returned from a 7 night stay at this hotel and felt compelled to add my positive comments to other reviewers who felt the same. I spent many years in the travel industry so went on my trip with an open mind especially after having read some negative reviews. ALL staff were polite and professional, from the gentlemen on reception to the hardworking, diligent staff in the dining room. I also wish to say a special thank you to the wonderful lady who cleaned our room who my friend and I met at the end of our stay. The jewel in the crown of the Alexandra Hotel in my opinion and that of my travelling companion is without doubt the staff. Thank you one and all, we will definitely be returning! Few points that may help in deciding whether this hotel is for you are… Our room was of reasonable size, recently renovated, and had all the amenities you would expect. Bath with overhead shower and hot water at ALL times. This is something that I have found lacking in a number of London hotels in which I have stayed. Comfortable beds which weren’t on wheels, we requested extra pillows which were in our room the next day. Tea/coffee facilities which were replenished daily. Large fan mounted on wall which we were grateful for as it was very warm during our stay. TV Hairdryer Plenty of wardrobe, cupboard and drawer space. Excellent location being only a few minutes walk from the station. Variety of restaurants within a few minutes walk, for those who enjoy Mediterranean cuisine check out the Paramount Lebanese Kitchen on London Street, excellent food, well priced! Finally, although there is no storage room as such the hotel has an area at the side of reception desk where luggage can be stored. We took advantage of this without any problem.

This is an absolute amazing hotel, quite place, close to Paddington station- 3 mins walk, the staff is very friendly, rooms ars fine specifically after renovations. Bathrooms are very clean. Honestly, The most important thing am always worried about is bedsheets, but they are always very clean. I would like to thank Farhan who is an amazing person who always check in on us and helps us know the directions , he also was very kind and thoughtful and offers us more than we ask and expect. A big thank you to Tipu , who helped me find a good room with a great discount at the very short notice… Tipu and Fahan We can’t thank you enough for the outstanding and relaxing accommodation you offered us. Fantastic little gem of a hotel. We arrived early as drove up, and the gentleman on reception was so helpful and friendly. Able to park our car (an extra charge which we knew about in advance). Hotel is literally 5 min walk from marble arch/oxford street and also paddington station. Perfect location.came back later and chexked in, again friendly welcome, asked about our day and happy to help give directions and recommendations for evening. Room was modern, clean and welxoming, and pleased to find one double and 2 full single beds (for my daughters) as often a sofa bed or pull out. Needed extra pillows which we spoke to reception and they brought them instantly. Beds so comfy, all had a good nights sleep, area outside quiet as we had window open and didnt hear anything. Such a quiet safe area. Breakfast was toast and cereal, and a full english, with coffee and juice, served by a lively friendly lady who was attentive and helpful. Checking out, again friendly man on reception asked how our eve was, and just friendly and welcoming. Only negative is the bathroom was very compact and not easy to move around, but this didnt impact us, husband still had a shower it was just snug. But this isnt something that put us off. Everything else was fantastic and we will def be returning and staying again, overall fantastic location, fantastic staff and place to stay.

We arrived around 11.15 obviously we knew check in was 2pm but the manager gave us a permit for our car so we could venture out till 2pm. We booked one single and one double bed as that's what it showed when we booked so that meant the 2 boys would share a bed and me n my husband in the double bed when we went back at 2pm to check in the manger said we have upgraded you to the family room with 2 single beds and a double perfect. The room was nice. The breakfast was lovely cereals toast and jam full English tea coffee and fresh juices the lady was lovely always had a smile and talked very friendly lady nothing too much trouble. If ever we went back to London would definitely book her again. Great location close to everything within walking distance

Good location, up to ten minutes walk from Paddington Station. Single rooms are average, but the price is relatively cheap. The breakfast room is not big, but the variety is rich, the taste is good, and the food is very satisfying!

I stayed here a few nights, in two different rooms. Great prices around $80/night. Close to Paddington. Nice bathrooms. A little loud, only stairs, water pressure and temperature can be quite low early in the mornings when everyone is showering. No AC of course, street noise can be quite loud.

For reception to room area looks unkempt, had to request a hand /face towel as only provided well worn bath towels for drying- despite request same had to be requested again, partner had to crawl over me in the bed to get to toilet area and then toilet door didn’t open fully banging again bed frame- room so small not enough room to hang clothes.don’t be fooled by photos these were obviously taken a few years ago, this place should not be listed as a hotel and can only recommend for backpackers or younger people on a budget and who aren’t carrying heavy cases as no lifts. Very disappointed- unfortunately our travel agent booked for us - he has already got our feedback and instead of staying 11 nights which we had paid for we booked out after 6 to stay elsewhere would have got out earlier only kings Coronation was happening hence hotels fully booked and busy

This hotel doesn't have an air conditioner. You can't open the windows because they've got them so that you can only open them three inches they put child locks on them. I would say that the room was not cool enough to be totally comfortable but somewhat acceptable and perhaps December January and February. This place is not inhabitable June July and August. Also the room was weird I had six steps going up to the toilet so I have to be cognizant in the middle of the night when I'm going to the bathroom not to fall down and break my bottom. My room said it came with breakfast but it was only a continental breakfast and it looked nasty but since it said breakfast the person who was serving breakfast was a nice enough to give me a full breakfast which was basically one egg bacon toast and beans which was acceptable. Continental breakfast is not acceptable and unless you book on the hotels website then that's what you're still basically a high carb high calorie low nutritional value meal. Would I stay here again? No unless it was December and January because there's no air conditioner which is unheard of. They have two fans in the room but what they basically do is essentially blow hot air around your room. I like the location of the hotel and I thought that the staff is professional. Also they don't clean your room every every day. They only clean the rooms every 4 days I find that completely unacceptable especially in 170 US dollar price point. Unacceptable. I only stayed one day so it didn't affect me but that I say three days I would have been very annoyed about their cheap policy if not cleaning the room on a daily basis who does that? I like the Polish lady that worked at the reception. Also this hotel has stairs in some funky locations. To get to my toilet I have to climb up six stairs to get to my room I had to climb up two different flights of five or six stairs also. They should clean the room daily for their price point it's ridiculous and guess what spend some money and put an air conditioner in the damn room.
Very Good

It’s really not easy to book a hotel at this price in London during the New Year’s Eve. I originally booked a homestay on Airbnb, but was temporarily cancelled. It took a long time to find this hotel and it was the last room. Up. The hotel is staffed 24 hours a day, and the uncles at the front desk are really nice. Although the restaurant on the first floor is not big but the English breakfast is really good and has an atmosphere! Happy new year! 2020

GGuest UserI stayed here for work late last year. On the up-side it was cheap and pretty well located. The property was a little run down / budget, the staff pleasant enough to deal with in person. The business markets itself as a hotel but it seems to be more of a guest house over many floors or a large converted ex-residential property - like many similar businesses in the vicinity. My room was small but sufficient; right at the top of the building at the end of a fairly narrow set of stairs. Those with mobility issues might be wise to clarify the location of rooms before booking. Upon leaving my impression was pretty much as you'd expect; not the finest place to stay but there were no dramas and it was reasonable value. Unfortunately things took a turn for the worst once back in the office and attempted to secure the usual VAT receipt for my expenses records. After this paperwork was respectfully requested from the owner he became extremely evasive; at first pleading ignorance as to what was required in a VAT receipt before ultimately resorting to bizarre and childish insults towards me. He even claimed I was threatening him with blackmail for suggesting that *********** (through whom the room had been booked) should be involved if, for whatever reason he couldn't provide the documentation I'd requested. After this experience I'm not keen to deal with this individual again and couldn't in good faith recommend his business.

KkevinkG3588ZGDear [SHAZ Manager EHH], I hope this message finds you well. I would like to provide feedback on my recent experience at your establishment and still respectfully request a refund for the amount paid, as my stay fell significantly below expectations. In July 2023, I booked two rooms at Europa House Bed & Breakfast for a stay from September 7th to September 20th. Despite my travel agent advising against staying at your property, I was reassured by your website, which presented an inviting image of both the facilities and location. However, upon arrival on September 7th, I encountered several issues that were deeply concerning. After a long overnight flight, I arrived at your property around 11 a.m. and was told to leave my luggage in the lobby until check-in at 3 p.m., which was understandable. However, upon returning, I was informed that there was no reservation in my name, despite having already paid $3,738.38 in advance for the two rooms. When I was handed the phone to speak with the owner, I was met with an unprofessional and confrontational response. Instead of resolving the issue calmly, the owner dismissed my concerns, even after I explained that I had already made full payment. He offered no resolution other than a single room with two beds for the night, which I reluctantly accepted due to the late hour and my exhaustion from traveling. The room I was given bore no resemblance to the images on your website. It was small, lacked air conditioning (with only a standing fan available), and the furniture was in disrepair, with broken drawer runners. The bathroom was shockingly cramped, measuring only 28 inches wide and 5 feet 7 inches long. These conditions made for an uncomfortable stay, particularly in the heat. I also found it concerning that while we were away from the room, some of our belongings appeared to have been moved, which added to our overall discomfort and unease during the one night stay. Due to the mismanagement of my reservation and the unacceptable room conditions, I decided to leave the next morning. I requested a refund when speaking to the owner again, but my request was denied. As a result, I forfeited the $3,738.38 I had paid and I promptly booked a room at the nearby Paddington Hilton. The difference in quality between the two establishments was stark; the Hilton offered spacious, air-conditioned rooms and multiple elevators, and it was conveniently located near transportation hubs. In light of these experiences, I kindly request a full refund for the amount paid, as the accommodations and services provided were not as advertised and far below the standard I had been led to expect. Thank you for your attention to this matter. I hope to hear from you soon regarding a resolution.

Budget hotel, less than 5 mins from Paddington. Great for one night. We had a small double, booked through ******* (better price than booking direct). Room was therefore in a converted townhouse round the corner. You get your own front door key as there is no reception desk in this building. There is no lift and it has steep stairs which was fine for us as we only had small overnight bags, but worth bearing in mind if you have suitcases or struggle with stairs. Room was small but clean, comfy pillows and clean, modern en-suite shower room. We had to call reception when there was a problem with the shower not working but we didn’t have to wait too long before someone came out to fix it. If you are looking for somewhere to sleep for a night near Paddington and on a budget then I would recommend this hotel. A few days later I had a query about the deposit, no money was taken and it was all fine in the end. Unfortunately the person I spoke to was cross that I had phoned when they were busy with guests checking out. Maybe they shouldn’t have answered the phone if they had too much going on, I could have tried again later. It left me feeling terrible that I had inconvenienced them. To be on the safe side I would advise not phoning the hotel at check in or check out times.

We had a long weekend sightseeing in London and this hotel was perfect for our needs. 5 minutes from Paddington Station in a lovely area a short walk from Hyde Park, lots of local food and drink options if you don’t want to venture too far on an evening. Both members of staff who I met were incredibly friendly and helpful. A complimentary breakfast is provided consisting of breads, cheese, meat, cereals, peaches, yogurt, jams and croissants. The breakfast area is small but well organised with guests having 2 choices of breakfast time and a 45 minute slot to eat. The rooms are basic but functional. We’re a family of 2 adults, 2 older children and our room had a double bed with a single bed either side. A desk is in the room with hairdryer and tea/coffee facilities. Because of the choice of room there was very little floor space around the beds but for our requirements this wasn’t a problem, essentially we just wanted somewhere to rest our head. The bathroom is a bit small but clean. This is a great option if you’re just looking for somewhere to rest after a long day.
