"Unfortunately, there was a nasty surprise upon arrival at the hotel – the reservation was there, but the advance payment hadn't been received 😳 Ultimately, our only option was to pay the full price again, otherwise we wouldn't have gotten a bed 🤨 Now I have to laboriously try to get my double payment back. So far, I've only been put off – that's no good start to a vacation... 😤 I can only hope this is an unfortunate isolated incident and not a method of double-charging 🙈"

"We arrived after booking for a family of 4 which was done considerably in advance. We were issued 2 rooms on a deal for 2 adults and a 17 yr old and 10 yr old only to find room were on different floors. That was resolved. No food available as it was Bastille day? And receptionist not able to provide alternative suggestion (a stranger pointed us to somewhere) rooms have no coffee making facilities! My biggest issue was shower which is frankly dangerous the floor is deadly slippery when wet and there are no grab rails or a shower curtain to stop water coming out of shower. I slipped and fell and hurt my shoulder and its still giving me issues today, I warned my wife but she still slipped as well. Despite the warning there were only two towels in room had we known hazard we would have put one on floor. I informed reception but response was not positive. A different floor surface is needed we used showers on a moving ship on way home with no such slipping issues. If my shoulder is still sore I will attend doctor the next person who slip could be far more seriously injured."
