Hotel Club El Borj

3rd time at this hotel. Returned twice this year May and September. Mèeting up with others we met in May. This hotel never disappoints. The Tunisian animation team at El Borj headed by the brilliant Slim fast are fabulous. Tiga, Bio, Djo, Doua, Dyaz,Hama, and Khalil. They were one of the reasons we went back again as we knew we would have so much fun and laughter. They are all so talented and have so much energy. Putting on activities throughout the day. The shows they put on in the evening were brilliant some were so funny!! The whole team made us feel so welcome from morning till night they never stopped. They spoke so many languages and included everyone. We are English and of an older age and we had a ball. There is also an Italian team who didn't speak much English but they were all really pleasant and tried their best to communicate. I don't speak Italian but I can say Hello and smile!! The hotel is lovely bedrooms are comfortable. The pool area is so relaxing and plenty of sunbeds. There is a pool bar and a beach bar. The beach is stunning with the hotel having its own private area with security and beach attendant. Plenty of sunbeds and shade. Restaurant is great with a wide variety of food. Loved the fresh grill of fish and meat everyday. Everyone that's works there puts in 100% bar staff, reception, cleaners always said hello with a smile. Take a trip into Mahdia have a coffee in the square it's only 10 mins in a taxi (reception will ring one for you) it's so pretty. Will definately be returning.

I am reviewing my recent trip to Tunisia - we stayed in mahdia - the Elborj hotel - rated on the beach as 3* hotel . The room was very dated but clean and tidy. The staff mainly speak Italian so therefore english speaking was a little difficult but we managed. All the staff are extremely friendly and helpful. The food was lovely a large selection. However the “hot” food was sometimes cold. Lovely pool area and beautiful beach on the doorstep. If your looking for somewhere sunny and chill out holiday this is the place. Nothing major to see around mahdia.

For a first all inclusive holiday I had an absolutely wonderful time at this resort, the staff are so welcoming, friendly and extremely helpful. A special shout out to the Animation team who have been amazing, so much so they have made us decide we will return again next year, even despite the roaring temperatures they are still always smiling with so much energy, they even helped make my proposal to my fiancé special. I have had such a blast and can't wait for my return visit.

Good holiday and beautiful hotel nice staff weather was so nice the beach so clean people very lovely entertainment the best nice food best holiday ever . We come back next time to tunisia I want say thankful for all

Average hotel. Food is bad. Staff are friendly but can sometimes be too much. Facilities are tired , all inclusive food not great. Pool and massage good. Location is not great either. Do not recommend for couples unless you want a beach all day everyday.

Brilliant staff great food staff made our holiday the animation team were fantastic it's our anniversary this year and we wanted to go back to where we were the happiest we've been to many hotels in Tunisia but that's the best by far highly recommend

A nice compact site with a good pool and direct access to a beautiful beach. The rooms are in blocks away from the main area and are a decent size but basic and even though the temperature was mid 30’s there air conditioning wasn’t on, which made the room hot and stuffy, you had to have the balcony door open at night which let in all the noise from outside (take ear plugs). The room did not have a fridge or tea/coffee making facilities. The restaurant has a good selection of food, freshly cooked and piping hot with a good cheese and fruit selection in the evening, as with all, all inclusive hotels the food gets a bit samey. It’s 5km from the town - 1 1/2 hour walk or 10 dinar taxi drive, well worth a visit and has a good market on Friday’s.

I needed of some late sun. Was not looking to do much except pool and beach. Both are great and on the way back from the beach you can grab a drink at the beach bar. Hotel a little tired, food was good, staff were good. Animation team drove me insane, though they did get a lot up and dancing. So must have been doing something right. Be aware that the taxi into town is only 10 dinar(£2.50) and when dropped off a hotel staff member will be waiting for you. He will offer to show you around and get you into his mates shop. Kindly decline his services. Mahdia is fairly small and safe to explore. .
