Tigmiza Boutique Hotel & Spa

Marrakech|1.93km from Quad Marrakech Lmghazli
We arrived at Tigmiza on a Saturday evening and were greeted with a very warm welcome, followed by delicious Moroccan mint tea and nibbles. The hotel organised an airport shuttle for us for 30 euros. We were then shown to our room (The pavillions) and led through the gorgeous, green hotel grounds. The reception staff are lovely and very helpful - I also can't say enough about how wonderful and accommodating the rest of the hotel staff are. The bar and restaurant staff are friendly and attentive, the cleaners are sweet and thorough and overall we felt very well looked after. They also knock to change your towels every evening which we apprecaited! We booked the ”Roses” Pavillion which was a lovely, large room (with a living room, terrace and separate toilet). The decor was a bit bright and dated, but the room is still gorgeous and a decent, comfortable size. The bed is very comfortable (best sleep I've had in ages!) and it was nice to sit out on our own, private terrace in the evenings. We stayed at Tigmiza for one week and never wanted to leave - It is such a relaxing place, and much less hectic than staying in the Medina. The 3 pools are all different, but equally beautiful (internal Riad style pool, large external pool with pool bar, and a more secluded rock pool style pool with small children's / paddle pool to the side (also with a pool bar, although this one was not manned) - Safe to say the grounds of the property are huge and very well kept. The hotel itself is stunning - It has a classy Moroccan vibe that isn't too over the top and there are lots of cosy seating areas. The seating area overlooking the Riad pool was our favourite, we had a drink there most evenings and watched the birds settling down for the evening in the banana trees over the pool. There is an English themed bar just off Reception which does excellent cocktails and drinks before dinner. One gentleman (I wish I caught his name) made the best Pina Colada we have ever had, and we subsequently had one every evening! We also sat in their Moroccan style tea room a few times to rest and have some delicious tea. The hotel has two restaurants - one international and one Moroccan. They are both lovely, but the Moroccan restaurant was very quiet and somewhat soulless in the evening. The food is excellent though, so I would recommend. However, we preferred to eat in the main restaurant as it typically had more atmosphere. You unfortunately do not get a choice as to where they sit you each evening. The upside is that you can order food from both restaurants, regardless of which is open. Whilst we had a very enjoyable stay and would likely return, there were a few downsides: 1) The free shuttle to and from the Medina, as stated on Booking.com and the hotel website, is no longer running due to Covid. We therefore had to fork out quite a bit of extra cash for taxis and shuttles. I wish we had known this in advance, as the hotel is roughly 20-25 minutes outside of the Medina, and

Iberostar Club Palmeraie Marrakech All Inclusive

Marrakech|2.15km from Quad Marrakech Lmghazli
Just returned from a weeks holiday. The first thing to mention are how hardworking and friendly the staff are. A special shout out to Halima in the lobby bar who always greeted you with a big smile and went the extra mile. Although to be fair you can easily say this about all staff. Without doubt the best service I have received in any hotel and I have been to a lot. Rooms are clean and of a good size for a family of 3. Air con was very good and a relief in the 40 degree heat. Lots of Sun beds and parasols. Although get down early if you are fussed where you want them. Loads of entertainment around the pool including a brilliant aqua aerobics. Also foam parties and lots of other activities going on. You will never be bored however if you just want to watch no one will hassle you to join in. The food choice is good and I would recommend entering the dining room of an evening through the lobby bar to see what the show cooking is for that night. Plenty of options for breakfast too. The snack shack serves excellent burgers. Never had to queue for a drink or table for dining. There is a good selection of cocktails to choose from and the wines are good. You can also help yourself to water, coffees and soft drinks around the pool. Weekly white party is worth a visit. Took a free coach trip from the hotel the souks and worth getting a guide to take you around for £15. This was different from our other holidays as we did not leave the hotel unless on a trip as about 30 mins from Marrakech however would definitely return.

Barcelo Palmeraie

Advantages: 1. The hotel meals are amazing. Buffet is invincible, and it has beaten most five-star hotels in Morocco. This price is worth the dinner. 2. Very suitable for bringing children. The baby club has its own farm, with sheep, peacocks, turkeys, etc. Children love it. They have a full range of amusement equipment and a classroom, which can be hosted. It is a pity that the opening time is no later than 5:30 pm. 3. There are 3 outdoor swimming pools in the hotel. The pools can be launched in winter, and there is an artificial lake for boating. There are also tennis courts and children's golf courses. 4. Beautiful environment, suitable for vacation, palm park. 5. Can add an extra bed. Toothbrush with slippers Next talk about the flaws: 1. The room is too small ... average bedding. 2. The location is very remote, the suburbs, and you can consider own car.

When we arrived the receptionists was very friendly and so were the others we spoke to through duration of the holiday. The first room we were given wasn't great, it was outdated, not clean and was was very dark. We didn't feel safe in the room either because it had a connecting door to another room which couldn't be locked. After explaining this to the receptionist he happily moved us to another room and he was very helpful. Food is bland and the same everyday. No salt and pepper to be found. The best part is breakfast with fresh omelette and morrocon flat bread. I recommend eating in Marrakech for lunch and dinner. The shuttle into Marrakech costs 40 MAD per person round trip. Which is far less than a taxi. The rest of the hotel is immaculate and the poolside is clean and the entertainment staff are all brilliant. French is the primary language at this resort so please take this into consideration. The staff will still try to communicate with you positively. Overall for what we paid it was a positive stay and the friends we made definitely made the trip a great experience.
