Nicest thing I can say is that the clerk apologized profusely! The 1 star is for her. Beyond that, the place is a craphole that should be shut down. Upon checking in I was informed that the indoor pool, which really was the only reason I chose there, was closed due to maintenance issues. Disappointing, but ok. I get my room and realize that the toilet won't flush and the sink won't drain. Do they check that everything works in the rooms before renting them?! Apparently not. Told the clerk as I went to supper about issues, and they were repaired by the time I got back. That was Friday evening. Spent the night Friday without further issues, except for an ant here and there. Spent Saturday with my daughter, and got back about 4:30pm. Filled my travel cup with ice from the hallway ice machine, which amazingly worked. Hallelujah! Filled my cup with a soda, replaced the lid on my cup AND the empty soda bottle hoping not to attract more ants. Went to take a drink 20min or so later and noticed ants crawling on outside of my cup. Annoyed now, I washed outside of cup and nightstand with soapy water to remove any possible residue. Then I went up to the front desk(since the phone in my room didn't work!)and asked if they had any ant spray and, as I was handed requested spray, was informed that there were quite a few ”long-term guests” that were probably not the cleanest people that refused to allow housekeeping in their rooms to clean. I stated that there should be a rule that housekeeping must be allowed in at least monthly to clean and inspect rooms for just this type of problem. Received a mumbled non-answer. During conversation with clerk I was pulling live ants out of my hair and swiping them off my clothing. I went back to my room and sprayed myself, my bed, entire nightstand, oxygen equipment, and trashcan. Tried to relax(yeah right!), but continued swiping ants off my person. The final straw was when I noticed several ants crawling up my oxygen tubing. After discussing with my family at home whether I should try to tough it out since it's now 9:15pm and I live 2 hrs away, or risk driving tired at night, we decided for my health it was better to leave. I hurriedly packed and went to check out. Same clerk was on duty as had been there all afternoon(Does she have a relief person?), and after explaining that I was checking out and going home and why, apologized profusely and offered me a different room. Why would I agree to a different room that would probably be in the same or worse shape?! As I'm backing out the door she's saying something about needing to call her Manager to approve whatever she's doing, whatever that was, probably/ hopefully issuing me a refund, I said I would call tomorrow to discuss things. As soon as I got home I unloaded my suitcase into the washing machine, which normally would have been done in the morning but I didn't want to bring ants into my home, took a long shower, and finally went to bed around 1:30am.
