Stayed here last night with my boyfriend from Liverpool and we had a amazing stay. You just get a really cosey feeling from the minute you walk in and are made to feel at home. Really kind staff , comfy bed and water was hot in the shower which is always important. Would definitely stay again.

Cancelled my wedding via a heartless email, no real apology then took days and countless phone calls to get my money back! Not an once of remorse from them, no compensation for the money spent on invites etc or having to re book the entire day! Disgusting people!

From the moment we walked in to the moment we left we felt so special the whole team are so attentive. The room we had was fabulous the bed was so comfortable We had booked breakfast and so glad we did it was delicious and piping hot with quality ingredients. if i had one negative it would be that the bar closes at 6pm and the restaurant isn't open on an eve. however we enjoyed a nice walk to the local pub 5 mins walkaway

Hotel was cute and the grounds were beautiful. We stayed here after our visit to Chatsworth. Staff was friendly and rooms were clean. While walking around the grounds before we left we were greeted by an adorable cat who walked with us.

Having recently become homeless but having the luck to be able to afford the odd night at a Hotel when not sleeping in a car (where as you will see I had to sleep having spent £170 on a room) , I have become experienced in staying in the various Hotels of the Peak District. These can be readily divided into two types: those that exist to provide succour to the weary traveller, where the Staff see it as their work to ensure their guests are happy, and those that are run to provide a pleasant retirement for the owners who previously might have been dustmen or solicitors. Certainly not experienced in the hospitality industry. The East Lodge Country Hotel lies firmly in the latter category. I would like to compare the grand East Lodge Country Hotel with the Premier Inn, Matlock. Perusing the internet the former may seem to be an extravagant break from ones ? life, the latter a place to stay when working or when needing a last minute room. Nothing could be farther from the truth. As I mentioned, I have recently become homeless, a predicament that affects many today in this Tory Hellhole of a country. And Tory Hellhole would be a good way to describe the East Lodge Country Hotel. Having been at the whim of the elements at a campsite in Alderwasley, another shabby establishment I badly needed some R and R and was treated to a night in the 4 POSTER ROOM at the East Lodge Country Hotel. Finally I could get a decent nights sleep , some top class service and quality produce that may revive me and enable me to hang on to my job despite my predicament. My dying Mother kindly booked an evening of relaxation and indulgence for me and scraped together the excorbitant fee of £170. I arrived, exhausted and was directed to my room by 'Ian', a pallid superior sort of creature. Ian and the rest of the staff left shortly afterwards. It was very important that I be be able to access the internet, my Mother was in her final days you remember. Having spent half an hour transporting my belongings up the stairs to the Grand room, reminescent of one of those films that I never watch (where where the 'staff' that one sees on the television?) I collapsed, in astate of medical exhaustion on the bed and prepared to access the internet to thank my dying Mother for this brief respite. Bear in mind that this was still February and nights spent attempting to sleep in a car can be rather tiring.Still the East Lodge Country Hotel Hotel had saved my bacon. Hadnt it?. They dont even know how to cook bacon The cursor on the aged remote didnt work, dating I suppose from a similar period to the crumbling building. So I dragged my exhausted self to my car to find a more modern establishment that could provide the basics we all expect. I forgot the name of the establishment where I arrived due to my extreme fatigue but it was of the other type, welcoming friendly and completely lacking in condesencion. I forgot to mention that it was my Birthday, another reason that my ailing

Lovely afternoon tea here today for a special birthday with family. The staff were very friendly Relaxing atmosphere in the conservatory lounge area with comfy seats. Looking out onto the derbyshire countryside. Great selection of cakes and sandwiches and relaxing background music. Look forward to coming back for another visit again very soon.
