Just back from a lovely stay at the Red Lion over the weekend. All staff were friendly and welcoming. Room 6 was amazing , large with very comfy bed, great shower, all clean and well maintained. Breakfast was tasty, hot and plentiful. We had meals on both nights - lovely. Thank you to the whole Red Lion team, we will definitely be back soon

Fab family run B&B with food and its own brewery - Moot Ales. We stayed 3 nights and explored the local area. Room was comfy and warm and noise from downstairs was minimal and didn’t disturb our sleep. The locals were lovely chatting to us in the bar. We will definitely come back next time we are in the area.

Great place to drink good selection of real ales comfortable seating, Welcoming bar staff. Not too far to walk if you are attending Matlock Town Only had a bowl of chips to eat ,but they where home made and very tasty. A really enjoyable vist.

A warm welcome awaits you in this family run establishment. Our room was a little tired but we were told it was on the list for refurbishment and we took a sneak peak at the other rooms which were lovely. Top tip book a four poster bed room. The food is hearty and good. Another tip the portion size is massive so either have no starter or be really hungry! All the staff made us feel really welcome and the pub has a really nice atmosphere. Yes we will be back.

Stayed for 2 nights it was clean, room was a little tired but warm and cosy didnt have evening meal so can't comment but Breakfast was OK, owner was friendly but staff didn't seem interested only in locals and 2 people were vaping in bar Wouldn't return.

Very spacious room (no 6) , great food we enjoyed the Sunday carvery and a fantastic breakfast. Very relaxing atmosphere and lovely little town. Just be mindful if you are a light sleeper, it’s near a busy road and traffic starts around 5 am, otherwise would recommend and would be happy to return if in the area.

Room with twin beds; mattresses were a bit worn out. En suite shower room was quite large but not enough shelf space and the light cord pulley needed changing - it looked dirty and brown. Breakfast was ok but was served on cold plates and the waitress said " the coffee machine was not set up for a latte" Not sure if other staff knew how to work their coffee machine either. Hallway up the stairs was dusty and that area needs a thorough clean. Will not return.

A very good stay, the Red lion is somewhere i would recommend for a stay, its well run with good staff and facilities.

Brilliant place to stay! Great staying in a pub. Amazing food. Fantastic beers. Very friendly and welcoming staff. Awesome breakfast. Comfy beds. Cosy room. Central location. Loved every minute. Just perfect!
