HORRIBLE CUSTOMER SERVICE! I never write bad reviews, but this management is just the worst you can imagine. We tried to reach them all day wanting to push our reservation back minutes after we booked it in the morning. NO ANSWER BY PHONE! NO ANSWER BY EMAIL! NO ANSWER AT ALL! When we got there the next day they just charged us for all nights and threw us out. I wrote really friendly emails. Now checking with credit card company what can be done against these scammers

Check-in experience shortly after 4:00p, although automated by two machines, was very difficult. During check-in, my machine crashed after taking payment but before key cards were issued, and became unusable..
Although a support number was found outside, phone support had ended at 4:00p (check-in was 3:00p-6:00a). Since no one answered, I sent an email.
By trying a second machine, I finally obtained a key card at 4:45p.
After going out to dinner, I received a call that my key cards wouldn’t work upon return. I was asked to re-register and assured I would not be charged twice.
I WAS charged twice and ask that my second charge be refunded.
Our room was stifling hot all night with no fan or AC in the room, and windows would only partially open.
Luckily, the staff person added us for breakfast since we had prepaid for it.
A friend who was also checking-in with me submitted a review of our frustrations. And then received a very hostile email in reply blaming us for being 'aggressive' with the machines. As each of us are 35 year career computer engineers, we rebut the accusation.

Excellent location. Walking about 15 min on the same street to City Center. Quiet place. Very clean. The place had everything we needed for our trip, including kitchen utensils.
Everything we did was via machines and we did not meet a single person. It was a bit weird but everything worked out. The check-in machine on the right did not have the letter "D" so that was a problem.

Bordinghouse HOME is terrible. I’d very seriously recommend you don’t stay here. Their booking policy is a scam, and the manager of the hotel was frankly rude and unethical. They booked and charged me for many more nights than I was staying, and refused to updated my reservation or refund me. Their customer service is lousy and they clear don’t value their customers.

Check in effettuato elettronicamente..ci si deve abituare. Non essendoci personale ti devi trovare da solo. La colazione è molto semplice senza molta scelta. Il parcheggio è disponibile ma molto caro. L'appartamento è molto bello e ben equipaggiato. Centrale

Self Check-In Hotels haben durchaus ihre Vorteile. Für den Gast in der Regel günstigere Preise, für das Hotel kostenoptimierte Abläufe und geringere Personalkosten. Das Boardinghouse in Konstanz ist ein sehr gutes Beispiel dafür. Die Zimmer sind zweckmässig und geschmackvoll eingerichtet, das Bett sehr gut. Für den Check-In gibt es zwei Automaten, Leider war bei unserer Anreise ein Gerät defekt, was zur Folge hatte, dass die Wartezeit sehr lange war. Wir hatten als Kundenwunsch ein ruhiges Zimmer angegeben. Da die Zimmerzuteilung automatisch erfolgt, lag das Zimmer direkt zum Haupteingang wlcher die ganze Nacht frequentiert wird. Da es keine Aufsicht gibt, war der Lärmpegel in der Nacht sehr hoch. Auf den Balkonen und Terassen wurde zum Teil die ganze Nacht geredet und Musik gehört, was im Sommer bei geöffneten Fenstern sehr unangenehm ist. Wir konnten trotz mehrmaligem Versuch das Hotelmanagement telefonisch nicht erreichen, es gibt kein "Nottelefon" und die Mitarbietenden verweisen auf die E-Mail-Kommunikation. Diese wird Zitat "situationsgemäss* beantwortet - in unserem Fall zeitnah, jedoch nicht problemlösend. Wenn Sie lärmempfindlich sind, bestehen sie vor der Anreise auf ein garantiert ruhiges Zimmer, ansonsten werden Sie wie wir ohne Kostenerstattung, vorzeitig Abreisen.

Onpersoonlijk hotel, geen receptie en de beloofde sauna werkte niet (werd gerenoveerd werd de volgende dag meegedeeld) . Handdoeken worden niet ververst tenzij tegen extra betaling! Geen airconditioning die werkt! Dus nogal warm. Kortom slechte ervaring in een toch leuke stad.
