Best Hotels with Gym in Melaka Tengah

Saw many recent comments that described the negative parts, so I was a bit hesitant to book at first. But I went ahead because it was the cheapest (26-27 Nov 2021) and it’s not located among the busiest parts of town. I came with my wife and two children – aged 9 and 4. Through Agoda (listed in TripAdvisor, obviously pfftt), I got the Superior Triple Room which had with it: - 1 king bed - 1 single bed - 1 sofa large / long enough for an adult person to sleep on. - free buffet breakfast for 3 pax All these + taxes + surcharges + fees on the end-of-Nov weekend = RM 292. RM 292!!! --------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Please refer to my pictures for the descriptions below; --------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Room --------- - it was clean; towels, mattresses, pillows, etc. all smelled nice too - TV worked fine – some free TV channels + radios; two USB ports can be used, no HDMI ports - aircond was good; its remote worked fine as well - shower was great; it was easy to adjust heat and cold shower - water pressure was strong; flush and bidet were in good conditions - balcony was windy and the river view was calming; the grill’s height was higher than standard, I’m 175cm and its top was above my navel. So, I think it’s quite safe even for children to lounge around for a few seconds - nighttime was quiet; we went to bed around 11.45 pm and there was nothing (happening) downstairs - toiletries and basic tea-coffee sets were aplenty; got clothing iron sans the board Hotel -------- - indoor pool was just down the hall; we went into the pool room didn’t take a dip, the size was decent for an indoor pool - all three lifts were operational and fast; even with the traffic of weekend tourists, we never had to wait for more than a minute - check-in process took roughly 3 minutes; check-out was less than 15 seconds - all the staffs were pleasant and helpful, no matter where I came across them - the single-entrance basement parking was free of charge and bright enough even at night with security guards; there were hundreds of parking bays, so no fuss about fighting for one - I don’t think it’s THAT far from the town because you just literally have to cross the bridge and you’re there. I timed it; it took me a whole 8 minutes from Riviera’s basement parking to reach Dataran Pahlawan / Imperial Heritage. If that’s far, just book Hatten then and Bob’s your uncle =) Restaurant --------------- - buffet breakfast was more than enough for RM15/pax (not that I had to pay for my son coz he’s 4 years old); many of the typical Malaysian heavy breakfast choices were there, like nasi lemak, fried kuétiau, fried noodles, fried mihun, white bread, and porridge + boiled eggs, hotdogs, condiments, etc. - food counters were easily accessible; tables are minimal inside the restaurant but there were a lot more outside (for both covered and open-air areas) - cutlery was clean

Will recommend to my colleagues! The best hotel I’ve ever been privileged enough to stay at. Gorgeous building, and it only gets more breathtaking when you walk in. High quality rooms (there was even a tv by the shower), and high quality service. Also, they are one of few hotels that allow people under 21 to book a reservation.

Comfortable 2 night vacation. Room & toilet are spacious and clean. Near kemana2.

The hotel stay overall was a pretty experience. Located in the heart of little India, a block away from Chinatown, and a couple blocks away from the main Pier area. It’s pretty easy to get around from this hotel has everything is quite walkable. The hotel had staff that were pretty helpful overall. I stayed two nights during Christmas when the hotel was full of patrons, and not a single room was available. The rooms are the typical Ibis kind of rooms but one thing that is good about the Malacca in ibis is that is kept up pretty well. There wasn’t anything that was worn down in the room other than my nonworking TV, which didn’t bother me. Oh, another somewhat of a hiccup that I ran into was the restaurant. According to the menu, the restaurant closes at 10 PM and the sign downstairs indicate 10:30 PM. My wife and I would really hungry and at 9:36 PM, I went downstairs to order an Ibis burger and an apple juice. The waiters at the front desk initially rejected my order, indicating that they’ve already closed the kitchen, but there was no indication of any “last order” time anywhere on their menu, or at their restaurant. Of course, since I was as a bear, I was not up for a kitchen closing early for whatever reason. So, I threaten to contact management indicating that the restaurant doesn’t have a last order time. In response, the waiters contacted the kitchen asking if they are willing to take my order and lo and behold, their chef was going to make the burger and drink. Not sure if this is a Malaysian thing or not, but I thought that was kind of scummy. I didn’t end up contacting management with what happened, but perhaps anybody who is going to order room service at around 930pm might want to use the same tactic as I did. 

PROs 1) Room considered as new and clean 2) Housekeeping team very responsive and quick too (kudos to them) 3) Food choices for breakfast were OK CONs 1) Location was too remote and far from any eateries. 2) View from room was just an eyesore especially the one facing to Metra Square 3) Parking space looked unclean and spooky It is a good hotel but for me I will not book again in the near future (sorry for the sincere comment)

Great experience with Rosa Malacca. From the entrance to the room until checkout. Mr Steve, the sarawak reception guy (i sempat tanya dia asal mana hehe) is damn friendly & soft spoken. Siap bagi choice i nak bilik view mana sama ada city atau courtyard view. Siap tanya baby i perlukan baby cot tak. I don’t request anything but he is really accommodating and good heart. We love his hospitality so much The 1st Hotel I checked in without Deposit! But they remind you not to cause damage in the room and no smoking gais. Clean room everything complete. The coffee house vibe is really beautiful with good music. The coffee house staff also friendly echah and aishah. Great hospitality and culture in here keep it up gais. We got much cheaper price via trip.com, compared to walk in. I sat there n booked via trip.com immediately. Thank you trip.com . Hotel did not inform us regarding changes of breakfast place. But we are so happy having breakfast at AMES. Thankyou management for the changes of breakfast place.
