As a member of a party of 10 staying at this establishment for the weekend I found it unbelievable that on a Saturday night that last orders were called at 10pm and on Sunday at 8:30pm. On sunday when asked if we could sit in the bar and play cards we were told in no uncertain terms "no". When asked where we could play cards we were told upstairs (IN YOUR ROOM). When asked to speak to the manager we were told "she's gone home '. A reasonable Inn but not one with normal opening hours with no customer service whatsoever

Stayed here with a friend to walk part of the coastal path. We were so impressed: the beds were so so comfy, staff friendly and helpful and the breakfast was amazing. Highly recommended this lovely inn and cosy pub. We'll be back!

Welcoming, and relaxed. Not as popular as it used to be and maybe heres why: Carvery meal 14.50 2 meat, fine beans, carrots, cauliflower cheese. peas, roasties, gravy. So, cold plates, beef almost rare and very very thin slices, pork well cooked but little flavour. Potatoes could be crispier and more fat. Cauliflower cheese is good. Carrots undercooked, harder than al dente. Gravy no real flavour- not sure whether neat or vegetable juices were added or just commercial gravy without seasonings. Had to ask for empty sauces dishes to be refilled. Didn’t check whether I was happy with the meal , but tried to clear the table early, twice. All apparently ok , sort of, but little attention to detail. Could do with a bit more training but everyone pleasant on the whole . Would be a better experience if they didn’t discuss wages in public

You cannot stay in Minehead without visiting the Old Ship Aground for eating out and good ales. It is always worth coming back to on more than one occasion during your stay. We came here for a pre booked evening meal. The greeting was very pleasant and we were led to the restaurant area. As the pub was rather empty I would have preferred to have sat in one of the alcoves to eat. The restaurant area itself was characterless. There was no atmosphere in the eating area considering the age and history of the building. A few nautical themed pictures or artifacts would lend more to a seafaring theme. The service overall was slow and the food was only just above average. You cannot go to a restaurant every single time and expect a good standard of food and service. This must have been one of those times. I know the ownership changed a couple of years ago and it does have a different feel to the old place. When next in Minehead, a visit will always be on the cards! not a brilliant review but I am just trying to be honest with my experience.

Hotel very tired, shower bar was fixed on with tape and cupboard hooks for dressing gowns. Accessories handing off the wall . Food OK. Saving grace was the staff were excellent, nothing was too much trouble.

My friend and I (with 2 dogs) went for lunch & ordered Fish stew (which was delicious) and I had the Hunters Chicken. The Hunters Chicken was supposed to be Chicken, Chips and Coleslaw however it was very disappointing-small portion of chicken with a miniscule amount of chips and a portion of coleslaw you needed a magnifying glass to see. All for around £15 each dish. I have only given them 3 stars because the Fish Stew was tasty-otherwise it would have been 2 stars. I wont visit again in a hurry.

Friendly staff and good food. Situated on harbour with large car park nearby. Great gluten free options available. Small menu but good choices and nicely cooked. Recommend the cod and chips and ham egg and chips
