Had a lovely family break here recently, nice room, fantastic family friendly facilities. However it's the little things that let them down as they say: like being charged €8 for a cup of tea, absolutely disgraceful altogether! Price of a pint at €6.30 is the most expensive in the north east .

Thank you very much for your help in organising our parents' wedding anniversary party! Everything was perfect from start to finish. The food was excellent, so many people commented on how beautiful it was and also on the service. It was extra special as their wedding reception was there 50 years ago! Thank you for making everything so special!

Room fine, shower good, Staff friendly and welcoming. Hotel Front - Irish Flag and other flags extremely frayed and need replacing. Dinner in PKs - food remnants from previous meals throughout floor covering. Could do better for a 4-star rating.

TERRIBLE PLACE VERY RUDE RECEPTION LADY IN MORNING ON FRONT DESK TOLD HER GOOD MORNING SHE JUST STARED AT ME DID NOT WANT TO PRINT MY BOARDING PASS STARTED SHOUTING AT ME ONE POINT CLAIMS TO BE A MANAGER IN A SCRUFFY DIRTY LOOKING UNIFORM 3 SIZES TOO SMALL ZERO CUSTOMER SERVICE HAD TO EXPLAIN 3 TIMES EVERYTHING BREAKFAST IS VERY BLAND HOTEL CARPET DIRTY DEF NOT 4 STAR I WORK IN IRELAND 5 TIMES A MONTH AND STAY IN HOTELS AND NEVER HAVE COME ACROSS SUCH A RUDE RECEPTION STAFF ON A FAIR NOTE THE NIGHT CHECK IN GIRL WAS VERY GOOD AND WELCOMING

We had such a great time, I took my sister as a treat for her 40th. Jennifer who greeted us and showed us around the spa was such a lovely person. I got my massage done with Kate, she was amazing! It was a perfect relaxing day, we had dinner in the bar and the food was scrumptious.

My sister and I and our 4 kids stayed here over Easter for a night. We had such a lovely stay and we were made to feel very welcome. Unfortunately my son burnt his arm on some curling tongs, but when we went to reception Erin went above and beyond to help us and advise. She got us some pads with bud gel and bandaged it up for us. She gave us some gel and more bandages in case we needed it over night and then the next morning she had a look at it for us and redressed it before we went to the pharmacist on the way home. Erin was amazing with him and really put us at ease. We had a lovely meal in the bar that evening. Klara served us and was very professional and friendly. After our meal we took the kids to watch a movie in the movie room before bed. The got popcorn and drinks, it was such a lovely touch. The next morning the kids all got to go to the kids club where they played and got their faces painted. Caitlin and Chloe were great with the kids and we knew they were in a safe environment with excellent care. I am looking forward to rebooking to come back for a family break with my husband over Christmas.

On arrival we were greeted by warm and friendly staff. Our rooms were clean, fresh and comfortable, perfect after a long day. The next morning the buffet breakfast was absolutely delicious, fresh, hot and very tasty. On departure once again the staff at reception were delightful and engaging with their guest. I’d recommend this hotel if you’re needing to stay in the area

Had an amazing day/night at the Hillgrove on Easter Tuesday for my brothers wedding. Amazing service great food and very comfortable rooms. The staff were amazing and very helpful. Will definitely recommend Hillgrove to others. 5 stars .
