All of the staff were extremely kind and caring. The tent was excellent as was the food. Highly recommend this place for a safari into Yala park. Everyone made me welcome and were excited for me to see the wonderful wildlife I was lucky enough to see.

We had a great glamping experience at Big Game Camp Yala. The service was excellent for the two nights we were there - the manager, Travis, and staff were exceptionally helpful, accommodating and flexible. The safaris were great despite the unseasonal rain. Would recommend.

Superb glamping for the whole family. Despite the mud, the tents were comfortable and Wifi worked well in the relaxation areas, and dinner in the candle lit dining tent was very memorable. Ideal location for our safari to the crocodiles, buffalo and leopards of Yala. We had fun playing cricket with the staff. Near perfect!

We experienced a wonderful stay at this charming and uncomplicated lodge. The service provided was outstanding—courteous and exceptionally friendly. Our tent was well-maintained and spotlessly clean. Surprisingly delicious meals were served, considering the camp setting. The safari guides were excellent, making our experience truly memorable. Highly recommended!

We recently stayed at two places in Yala, and I am glad to say that both exceeded our expectations. Big Game Camp Yala was our second option, and if it weren't for the rain, it would have been fabulous. However, the entire team made our stay very comfortable and experiential, and we have no regrets for what we paid. Thank you.

By far the worst holiday experience any of us have ever had. We did not go to this place expecting five star service, we did not expect uninterrupted wifi, or gourmet cuisine or even terrific leopard sightings. We just expected 2 things - simple decent food and an interesting safari. Starting with the food - meals were an additional $15-$20 per person. Dinner on both days was to be barbequed chicken and pork with sides. Both days the chicken and pork were unbelievably tough, impossible to chew and swallow. The sides were flavorless, half raw and stale. Even the sausages were shrivelled. Evidently the same food had been getting heated and reheated repeatedly and resembled leather by the time it ended on our plates. All of us had to abandon dinner after a couple bites. One of us required gluten free food and repeatedly requested for rice only to have wheat parotta kottu end up on her plate. There are no other options near by, they don't.provide alternatives. So we spent a hungry night. The safari was an additional $40 per person. For this money we got only a driver who could not speak English or understand English. He did not make any attempts to speak, explain, or point out anything. We had to point out wildlife to him for him to stop the car. Or we saw other cars stopping and we also stopped and stared vaguely in the same direction. We have never experienced a "safari" like this across several forest reserves and national parks across the world. On the way back he drove at a breakneck pace across broken and flooded jungle paths , leading to some small injuries. The camp is lovely, the staff is courteous and try their best but from what I could fathom the owners want to save money by cheating tourists with appalling "food"and strangely subpar safaris. I suppose we should be thankful none of us managed to eat much over 2 days and avoided food poisoning.

This was easily one of our worst holiday experiences, and a completely avoidable one. The tents are beautiful, very well maintained, the staff is super polite, and the Yala National park itself is spectacularly beautiful. The catch is here - the property prepared food that was inedible, to the extent that our 8 person party had to go to bed without eating anything (there are no other eating options nearby for at least 10km). The chicken was cold, the pork was hard as rock, the rice was cold and undercooked, and the sausages resembled withered tree bark. I had specifically requested gluten free food for one guest, and they were served wheat based parottas. This is simply unacceptable quality of food when you are charging $20 a plate at what is one of the premier wildlife destinations in the world. The staff, being extremely courteous, knocked this charge off our bill, but that doesn't replace what could otherwise have been a great experience. Now for the safari. We hired an 8 seater Jeep for the early morning safari. Our driver spoke now English, and was on the phone for the large part of the trip, so he didn't get to explain anything or show us any animals or birds on his own. Whatever we saw, we spotted ourselves or saw other jeeps stopping and stopped behind them. At one point, we were in a traffic jam and our driver reversed the Jeep for about 2km , which was completely deranged. While checking out of the resort, i found out that one could order beer, something no one explained to us while checking in. Overall, for the price one pays to stay here, the owners have done shamefully poorly in scrimping on food quality and not hiring good safari drivers. We have been to safaris around the world, and this was the worst managed. Avoid this resort, take local recommendations for other places before booking what can be a memorable trip to Yala.
