Don't bother with this resort. Are there some great things, Yes! But it's so over priced, and the concierge service is the worst I have ever dealt with in any of my stays. They would fail to book taxis, overcharge you, undercharge you—every everyday was a new challenge. Probably the worst is that they have a pool fence that doesn't actually go around the full pool, so your children are still unsafe. Beds are horrible.

Overpriced even though our Superior Villa was beautiful. Fridge not working which froze & destroyed all our food. The management said we left the door open which we didn't as it beeps if you leave it open. Dishwasher filter and washing machine filthy. Dead mouse in our pool which I stepped on and we couldn't swim in our pool for 24hrs. Terrible food at main pool and so overpriced. We sent a salad back uneaten because the prawns were inedible and were charged for it. Pavement in disrepair at main pool which my daughter tripped on and it was very hard to push the buggy over. Very little to do in resort with kids.

Another great stay here. The accommodation was first class and very clean. Staff at the M bar were wonderful as always. Our children had a wonderful time - we will be back!

The townhouses are poorly designed, poorly maintained and poorly stocked. Also, staff are not fully trained and the location isn’t as convenient as promoted in the property’s marketing materials. A direct complaint to staff resulted in a template response that made the staff look foolish as the response said my complaints would be addressed except that I had not provided any specifics in my complaint so staff didn’t have enough information to address anything. That tells me there is no sincere desire to fix anything.

Very good option in QdL area for a family holiday for a larger group. Excellent and helpful reception staff. Good location close to golf courses. Restaurant open only until 17.

Overall, we didn’t enjoy the Martinhal experience in Quinta do Lago. There is not hotel, just lots of villas with a shared pool area, and kids’ club/playground. Family members have stayed in other Martinhals and spoken very highly of them and for this reason we decided to go there. We were really disappointed as we hadn’t realized there was no hotel attached to the resort and that it was a much more basic experience.

Lovely stay at the villas. The villa are clean and in great location. The facilities are great, big properties and ensuite rooms. Great place to entertain and party. Big swimming pool and lovely place for adults and kids especially.

We stayed at this resort for one week early August 2023. I cannot stress how much you should not waste your money staying here! Do not be sold by the family friendly angle - it's just marketing!! There are much better places to stay in Quinta and they need to seriously improve their standards across the board if they want to compete. We did check in late due to a flight cancellation so we obviously got one of the poorest villas, but for the money they are charging there should be a general standard enforced across the board. All of the Villa owners should be responsible for a reasonable level of upkeep for their villas. We stayed at peak season so paid a large amount of money for a very poor two bed townhouse with extremely outdated decor. I can accept poor decor but it had not been cleaned properly, there were tiles missing in the bathrooms and the outside area was extremely poor with tiles missing and ants everywhere. We have a 6 year old and a 20 month old baby and the pool area was not suitable for our youngest to walk around. My main issue was the cockroaches, and there were so many of them! I complained 4 times and got no feedback from reception or action of any sort. We were forced to buy cockroach spray and take matters into our own hands. I was so happy to leave at the end of the week.
