Hotels near Western Development Museum (WDM) - Moose Jaw in Moose Jaw

We booked this hotel for our trip to Moose Jaw for a swim meet and we were delighted by the experience. But for one issue with a noisy neighbour (teen basketball team) the first night we arrived, everything was perfect. And once we called the hotel staff about 10:45pm at night, the noise stopped so they took care of it the best they could. Everything is brand new. Our room had two kings and a pullout couch, was very spacious. The staff was friendly, courteous and helpful with every interaction. The manager was actually onsite the entire weekend and when not working the front desk she was working in the breakfast area...we were very impressed with her commitment to making our stay great. She interacted with many of the swim families while we were there. We'll definitely be going back for the two swim meets per year that we attend in Moose Jaw. We were travelling west and were late leaving so opted for Moose Jaw over Comfort Inn in Swift. On checking we hoped to get to a Scottish restaurant nearby but opted for Greek (more on that elsewhere). The staff were more than helpful, the room was an 11 out of 10 for cleanliness, a thermometer on the shower, close to food options, and then there was the breakfast! 2 types of waffles, mini sausages, scrambled eggs, toast, muffins, bagels , 3 kinds of cereal, etc, etc. More than we needed but watched working guys and families really enjoy. Stay here! The large screen LG TV in the room was a sports bonus! We revised our travel home plans to stay here again --- same experience but even better with a gold course view out back.

Rooms were very clean, newly renovated. Breakfast was good. Located around 10 min drive from the city center and near the highway.

We had an extended stay at this hotel in April. Our room with the king sized bed was very comfortable with a great shower and no shortage of hot water. The wifi worked at all times. We absolutely loved complimentary breakfast. They a big variety of items to choose from. The lady who worked there was awesome. There were a couple of annoying issues we had to deal with, such as the hot tub getting closed down as well as the exercise room for a couple of days. Other than that, we enjoyed our stay and would definitely return.

Check in was efficient and protocols in place for COVID. Room was delightful, large and spacious with a kitchenette. Room very modern and clean as was the bathroom. Beds were made with excellent bed linens and mattresses very comfortable. A terrific room for a very comfortable stay. Breakfast was the best Grab and Go type we have ever experienced. Wonderful breakfast wraps with scrambled egg type filling, individual cereals and milk, juices, fruit as well as coffee. Someone obviously put some thought and effort into a breakfast to go in lieu of full breakfast which could not be given as a result of the COVID protocols in place. It was not your cheap and tacky tasteless muffins, water and a piece of fruit so many others hand out. Thanks for the great effort!

I’m originally from Moose Jaw, so I was delighted to hear that the old Grant Hall was being restored to it’s former glory. Unfortunately, it fell short of expectations. Undercooked restoration that felt like it ran out of cash to properly complete the work needed. We arrived one evening to the familiar building. However, the front entrance on Main St. is not well signed and has nothing opulent or extravagant to indicate it was the main entrance. The 15 minute loading zone signs for temporary parking were attached to the meter, so barely visible. We actually drove past on our initial pass because we were unsure. We entered the door to find stairs. There is another even less obvious entrance off of Cordoba St. which is also stairs. There was an accessible entrance on the north side of the building, wedged down a narrow, poorly lit corridor between another building that was not obvious and also served as the entrance to the parking lot. The door was not functioning correctly when we were there - the user had to manually slide the door to open it. Not accessible friendly in the least. Additionally, it was locked at night with no card lock or way to get in. We checked in and the desk agent was pleasant enough. We were handed our keys and paper coupons for $5 off the breakfast buffet and a paper parking pass. We headed over to the elevator which was very slow and dated. We ended up just carrying our luggage up to the mezzanine level. At the top of the mezzanine level stairs was the landing for the elevator. To get to the suites, you had to step down 3-4 stairs. These suites are not accessible friendly. We arrived at our suite. The strange door was extremely heavy and noisy to open and close. It had to be pulled to latch properly when you exited the room. There was no map of the hotel and what the appropriate emergency egress points were on the back of the door as there is in every other hotel we’ve ever stayed at. The suite looked tired. The sofa was worn with tired cushions and some holes in some places. The coffee table had damage to the top. The desk had an extremely worn top and no finish left. The fireplace hearth wasn’t flush with the floor and had a broken, hazardous tile. The fireplace was faux and not installed properly, with the one corner sticking out. The floors hadn’t been prepared properly before the engineered wood was laid over top, so they made noise and moved as you crossed them. The skirting boards were cut crooked and not finished along the bottom. The bedroom was ok. The bed was extremely high. It required scaling it to climb up into it because it was extremely high off the ground. The bedding was clean and crisp and the pillows were reasonable. The window was cracked. The worst part - there were no room darkening window shades! Summer in Moose Jaw means the sun sets late and rises early and one would expect to be able to sleep properly. Simply impossible without room darkening window coverings! The bathroom looked

This was the worst hotel experience I've ever had. If the experience we had had been at a $79/night side of the road motel, I would've been much more laissez-faire about it. However, we paid $180, plus parking, plus a $35 pet fee, and would've been more comfortable sleeping in our car. The 2 main issues were: 1. The heat doesn't work on some of the floors. My understanding is the first 3 are the main issue. And when I say it doesn't work, I mean it never reached more than 17 degrees, and cold air blew from the vents straight at the beds THE ENTIRE TIME. This is a problem they know about. They've had people in to fix it, but ”can't”. So, when it's -30 outside, this hotel is charging people $180 to stay in hotel rooms THEY KNOW have no heat! ***?! Do they have heaters, i asked? Some, but not enough for every room, so we were out of luck. In order to actually manage to sleep, we kept a pot of water boiling on the stove all night, went to Canadian Tire to buy our own heater, and each slept with 3 blankets and our clothes on. They offered us extra blankets, but only sent 1 for 4 people and 3 beds. We had to call down 4 times, each time we were on hold for over 10 minutes becausevthe place was a gong show. This leads me to the second issue.. 2. Management of the hotel. This place is BUSY. There was never not a line up at the front desk. Like i said earlier, every time I called down I was on hold for 10 minutes. I've never seen a hotel this size not have at least 2 people on the front desk, but there was only 1. A couple manager looking women walked around, back and forth into the office, etc, but never jumped onto the other desk to help out. It was ridiculous. When we first went up to our room and realized the heat didn't work, we called down to the woman who checked us in to complain. She acted surprised about the heat and gave us the only other room in the hotel because they were full. I waited in line for half an hour to get new keys, and when I got to the front desk a different clerk was now telling me my reservation had ended and there was no room for me. We spent another 10 minutes going around and around, while I tried to explain what had happened. This is when we were told that the heating is a problem they know about and can't fix (not the story we heard from the other clerk) but were assured that the new room would have heat. Nope, that was a lie as well. I could go on, but that's the gist. I'll never stay again.

The room is very big, the bed is also very big, one person is very comfortable, the front desk service is very good, we arrived in the middle of the night, the front desk brother is still smiling service.

Good for price, WIFI good, room clean, good location, a block from ******, pool, downtown. Beautiful park right across the street. Free parking, room had Coffee maker, microwave and fridge and good sized flat screen TV with HDMI. Very basic free breakfast
