"Really comfortable hotel . Friendly staff ,warm and cosy room very nicely furnished, and a really comfortable bed. Superb choice of breakfast and highly recommend the full English. Excellent location with easy access to beautiful scenery / coastline etc. Warkworth castle dominates the village and is well worth a visit ,aa are the cosy hostelries in the village. Would definitely stay here again."

The Sun Hotel

"On the positive side, the hotel is situated in a lovely area and an ideal base for visiting the local attractions. Breakfast is good. The adjoining restaurant does good food and I had the best liver ever! On the negative side, the hotel is dated. The dining room is from nineteen-canteen and the wallpaper needs changing. Our room was small and had steps leading down to the shower room (no bath). The shower was basically unusable due to the water being scalding hot and wouldn’t cool down and the water cut out while in use. I’d also point out that the shower is very small and if you are on the larger side weight wise you probably won’t even fit in! The shower head is the type that is straight above you and cannot be directed. You can do better for the money!"

"Shouldnt have expected much for two meals @£23. However to receive a meal and warned it's just come out of the oven.. as in pinged.!! The meat below the topping was tasteless, the vegetable accompaniment was bland.. The reviews are a mixture but from my experience I'd rely on the honesty of the lower rated."

Fairfield House

"We managed to get a last minute booking here and so glad we did. We arrived and was greeted by Mandy who showed us to a beautiful room in her fabulous house. The room was elegantly furnished, all the linen and bedding was of a high grade and a very confortable bed. The bathroom tastefully set out with sumptuous towels and bathrobes provided. Everything was spotless, tea & coffee is provided in your room but you can also sit in the lounge with coffee & homemade cakes provided downstairs. The garden is stunning and we were lucky to see a duck and ducklings on the pond. We had one of the best breakfasts with generous portions. Both Mandy and Kevin were great hosts, friendly and welcoming. The house is walking distance from the town with lots of eating places and the river running through. Mandy will help guide you where to visit. Amble Harbour was pretty, visit the Old Custom House which is a cafe, with views out to the harbour. We will definitely be coming back here to stay, we met many returning guests."

"We had a short two night stay at The Haven in August for a family break. The Haven is a beautiful and tranquil place to stay right and is only a 5 minute walk into the village. The host was friendly and made us feel welcome. The hotel has a lovely peaceful atmosphere. The rooms are beautiful, well equipped with everything you need, tastefully decorated and very clean. We had beautiful countryside views and woke up one morning to two deer on the front lawn. Breakfast was great with lots of fruit, Yoghurt, juices and cooked options. The hotel was great value for money and perfect for exploring Northumberland. We would definitely come back."
