草津温泉のあがり湯として古くからこの地に根付いている沢渡温泉。 地図を見ると草津と四万の中間ぐらいです。 温泉街は草津などに比べ人通りも皆無でお店もほとんどありません。 寂れ。。。訂正。鄙びた温泉街が好きな方はこういう雰囲気がたまらないんだろうなと。温泉街の坂を登りきった所にこちら宮田屋さんはあります。 宿は外から見ると小規模かと思いきや奥へ奥へと続いていく京都によくある町家のようなつくりになっていました。３階建でお風呂は内風呂に貸切露天風呂に家族風呂。 貸切露天以外は24時間入浴可能なのは喜ばしいことですね。 草津のように酸が強い訳でもなく濁り湯でもなく硫黄臭もぷんぷんではありません。 湯の温度もややぬるめの方になるのかな。。。 温泉は熱いに限るという熱男さんには物足りないかもしれませんが自己主張が強くないので刺激もなく肌に優しく長湯しやすかったです。 料理は２食とも個室でいただきました。夕食で口にした名物のりんごのクリーム焼きはオススメです。一見デザートかと思いきやホタテが乗っていたりとメインデッシュとして扱ってもいいくらい。丸々１個のりんごを使っているのでボリュームもあります。 給仕のスタッフさんが外国人で日本語勉強中らしくドリンクの注文はこちらが紙に書いて渡すというレアな経験もできました。 露天風呂は完全に閉鎖空間で眺望が叶わないのが勿体無いなぁと思った点。 でも総合していい旅館だと思います。 草津の日帰り入浴後にはあがり湯としてまた訪れたいと思います。

お風呂は大浴場、家族風呂、貸し切り風呂と３つで構成されています。 源泉掛け流しの優しい泉質のお風呂は24時間利用可能。しかも家族風呂の利用は追加料金なし。 宿泊した当日は夜から朝まで何度も大浴場の露天風呂でゆっくりさせていただきました。食事はうれしい個室。コロナ対策もしっかりされています。 沢渡温泉の利用は初めてでしたがいい温泉でした。
