We couldn’t fault our stay at Ndhula Lodge. Set in a secured estate in rolling hills of African scrub and macadamia nut plantations 10 minutes from the Kruger International Airport. Greeted by a small group of Nyala antelope and two grazing warthogs. Other wildlife sighted around the lodge included wildebeest, zebra, kudu and two glorious giraffes who curiously watched my partner pass to and fro on his morning run. Greeted warmly by professional and interested staff. In fact Charles and his amazing staff were warm, friendly and helpful throughout our stay. Accomodation is in tents and is exactly what we wanted. Rustic, melting into the shrub, but a big comfy bed with an electric blanket, and a big ensuite bathroom. Tents are made of canvas, so noise travels easily through the walls. Waking to a magnificent magenta sunrise with a rising crescendo of bird calls though was part of this unique experience. The main lodge was a huge open space and enticed with a view over the hills and mountains. A comfortable and inviting space to relax and meet. And eat - food was hearty, plentiful and mostly included in the tariff - our main extra was our morning cappuccino and hot chocolate, and a beer and rosé at night. A packed lunch was provided on the days we went on safari in the nearby Kruger National Park. Staff can arrange all tours and transfers at reasonable prices. We had a rented car, which was convenient for the 10 minute drive into the local town, White River, for shopping in its modern shops. Our stay was completed by a great African happy birthday and dance which I will always cherish. Thank you Ndhula Lodge.
