Sarah Kendall House

We came for a long weekend and had a lovely stay. Bryan was very helpful and made some excellent suggestions for things to do and meals. The breakfasts were fabulous - high five to Mary ! The room was comfortable, the bed slept well. We would definitely stay again.

Great stay here with my teen daughter . The room was giant with a private walk in bathroom . Harbor views were gorgeous and it was close to shops and eating area . Breakfast was delicious and the hosts were very kind and welcoming !! I’ve already recommended to family and friends .

We had a wonderful stay at the Sarah Kendall House. Brian was a generous and helpful host with lots of good recommendations in town. The room was large and comfortable, breakfast was delicious, and we loved hanging out in the cozy downstairs sitting room. We would absolutely stay here again on a return trip to Newport.

Room very clean and the view was spectacular . The owner was extremely attentive and the breakfast was fabulous. Lots of history, books around the house tell you about Newport and the house. The house was a little chilly for me and the fireplace in our room didn't work but we were told we could turn heat up as high as we wanted. All and all a great stay.

Great bed and breakfast with a great location for visiting Newport. Fantastic view. We were also able to walk to several restaurants, shops, and bars. Brian was a great host and very informative about the area. The breakfast each day was also very good.

This is a a true gem. We were greeted by the owner, who gave us a brief history and tour of the inn. Our room was very comfortable and clean. The breakfast was superb - eggs and bacon cooked to order, and a wonderful spread of fruits, bagels, yogurt, juice and coffee. The inn is located within walking distance of the transit center and waterfront, so there was no need to drive our car anywhere. It was a very warm and inviting experience, and we will definitely be back.

Our stay was for my sister’s birthday, 4 of us in 3 separate rooms. I stayed in the Tower suite which had a separate entrance, and about 35 stairs to climb and being the oldest of the group in my late 60’s I read up about the Inn ahead of time and educated myself of what to expect, the climb was fine, with a small bag to carry. The others on the other hand promised to come visit me but after checking out the room and the climb they never visited me again or the amazing cupola again during our 2 night stay….lol. I loved it I was the only one way up there for the 2 nights…a little spooky, but perfect. All of us loved our rooms, The Garden room and the Sarah Kendall suite. The Inn is well appointed and clean. Bryan was so informative and such a gentleman. A very proud owner. Mary who helps Bryan with breakfast and cleaning is so sweet, and is a wonderful cook. The breakfast is impeccable. I’m not just saying that; the setup and abundance can hardly be matched anywhere. The rate was very reasonable. The Inn is gorgeous, antiques are abundant everywhere. If you are a person who loves old inns it will not disappoint. If you are a person who expects perfection and not to creak or rattle or floors not to settle then perhaps an more modern updated hotel is more your style. For us we were delighted with the experience. Thank you for all your hard work Bryan and Mary!

Wonderful hosts and delicious spread for breakfast. Accommodations were lovely. Location was a 10-15 min walk from the main dock area of Newport, which was perfect for us.

The hosts were accommodating. Great room so many things to look at. Amazing breakfast. Comfortable. You can See the water From the beautiful wrap around porch. Fabulous location. Parking is easy and convenient. Historic. Don’t hesitate!
